I saw posts about simple resume updates and they actually worked!?

I saw the posts about updating the resume to remove characters due to the parsing and Al readers and it's either a Really big coincidence or it makes a difference because I got a interview interest call in less than 8 hours after updating mine.

I have been a corporate emplovee for almost 2 decades and I've always just used the same resume and added on to it after each job

I've always gotten a good amount of traffic on my resume (never had an issue gettina something) but I started to see recently that nothing was generating any calls or interview requests ( contract so I usuallv have to iob hunt regularly) - nothing in 6 months; crickets

Mine wasn't overly formatted but each line item had a dash for bullets and sub bullets for anv other detail Some of the older iobs had older formatting that was "updated" to latest format but wasn't great. It's never hindered me before, I never paid it any mind - All gone, I removed all bullets of any kind under all jobs

I applied with the updated resume and got a call (a very good one) and two others that seemed to be from iob searching my resume; roles I didn't apply to

Highly coincidental or definitely effective? Only time will tell

What AI Resume tool for ATS tailoring can remove AND add skills

Hi all, I'm currently using KickResume to get around ATS (I'm in tech, software engineering). I want an AI tool that would be used to tailor resumes to the job listing. That said, I'm not happy with the tool. Not only is it too slow, taking around 5 minutes a resume, it also doesn't remove content, it just adds it, resulting in my resume getting pushed to 2 pages, and being full of skills irrelevant to the listing. Can anyone recommend something better?

Do recruiters still use traditional ATSs or do they use AI based systems now? And shouldn’t AI be better at analysing resumes than traditional ATS? Meaning wouldn’t keyword stuffing in resumes be irrelevant now?

14 yrs healthcare (CNA, PCT, sterile processing). BS in Healthcare Administration (3.8 GPA), master’s in progress. Pivoting from bedside to admin roles with no management experience. Does my history look hoppy? Does the top half sell admin? I need help, any advice welcome.

Is my resume saying too much? Will a hiring manager see this and take it as fluff?

Is this a solid resume for someone who turned 18 in August? Any critiques from employers/those who know?

[0 YoE, Mechanical Engineering Lab Assistant, Operations/Mechanical Engineer, Northeastern US]

Hey everyone. I'm currently a senior at my university and will be graduating next semester. I have been applying to some defense positions with a previous resume but haven't had much success so far. I created this version today using the proper template and would love some feedback from everyone.

Ideally I would like to land a role in defense/aerospace as an operations engineer but would be ok to work in a different industry or different role. I would also like to re-locate to the northeast of the US if anyone has any advice for some open opportunities. Thank you all!

Resume Length

Hey all,

I wanna update my resume and start applying for jobs because my current company is getting me nowhere (and they’re doing shady stuff).

I’m having trouble with the page length and what to put on there. I graduated from college in December 2020. From January 2021-April 2023, I have 2 roles at solid companies. From April 2023-March 2024 though, my young and dumb self decided to take a break from corporate and do filmmaking. I started a 12-month contract job in March 2024 but got fired in August 2024 for “performance issues” (total bullshit but not gonna dive into this here). From August 2024-October 2024, I was unemployed and just doing a bunch of courses. From October 2024-July 2025, I worked as a procurement associate for my dad’s friend’s company but he laid me off because Trump’s tariffs started hurting his business. I was unemployed until Feb 2026 where I got a role as a procurement specialist at a renewable energy company. Still at this role today.

I don’t know how to format my resume with this hectic employment history. I know I don’t have to list everything on there and I can take some out to keep it to a page, but the problem is there would be a considerable gap in the timeline.

If anyone has any advice on how I should format it, I would greatly appreciate it!

[2026 Graduate, 0 YOE, SDE / ML Engineer, India] Looking for Honest Resume Feedback

Hey everyone,

I graduated in Computer Engineering this year and have been applying for entry-level SDE and ML roles.

I've worked on a mix of software development, machine learning, and research projects. I also co-founded GOCO, where we're building a programming language and IDE. One of my recent projects is a credit risk prediction system using ML, and I also have a research publication in the accessibility space.

I've attached my resume and would love some honest feedback.

  • Does my resume stand out for a fresher, or does it look pretty average?
  • Are my projects strong enough to get shortlisted for SDE or ML roles?
  • Are my bullet points clearly communicating what I built and the impact it had?
  • What are the biggest weaknesses you'd fix if this were your resume?

Feel free to be blunt. I'd rather know what needs improvement than get generic feedback.

Thanks!

To the therapists here: How do you explain being an LMHC without making it sound like you’re dunking on LCSWs?

I keep seeing license discussions online turn into this weird thing where counselors get described as the “therapy people” and social workers as the “case management people”. I don’t think most people mean it that way, but it comes off pretty condescending.

I’m an LMHC, and I’d rather explain what I actually do than compare my training to someone else’s. I work with adults dealing with anxiety and trauma in outpatient settings, do assessments and treatment plans, and coordinate with other providers. That seems like a much better description than a bunch of letters followed by “evidence-based care”.

I’ve been trying to fix how I describe my work on my resume too. I ran it through resume worded because my summary sounded so generic, then rewrote it to focus on my actual clients, responsibilities, and clinical experience. It was a lot easier to explain my background once I stopped trying to make it sound impressive.

I still struggle with how to describe my scope without accidentally implying other licenses are somehow less clinical. We all have different training and state rules, but there’s a lot of overlap in what we do.

I’m curious how other therapists handle this, especially LCSWs. I’d hate for someone to read my bio and think I’m taking a shot at their profession when that’s not what I mean at all.

I’ve rewritten my resume five times, and I still don’t know what’s wrong with it

I've been applying for graphic design jobs for a while now, and the lack of responses is getting to me. I've changed the layout, rewritten my experience, added keywords from job descriptions, and removed things I thought were unnecessary.

I even tried using Kickresume to rework some sections, hoping a different approach would help. It gave me a few useful ideas, but I still wasn't sure whether my resume was showing the right experience or just looking better on paper.

The frustrating part is that I rarely get any feedback. Most companies either send a generic rejection email or don't respond at all, so I'm left guessing what needs to change.

I don't want to keep rewriting the same document every week without knowing whether I'm fixing the actual problem.

When you've stopped getting responses to job applications, what helped you figure out what was wrong with your resume?
