DISCUSSION What are some negative side effects to having the power to turn into Bird?
Seriously why do they treat this as a bad thing

You’re telling me the man who has lived through several generations and has racked up enough experience over centuries and has magic loses to someone who just became a full maiden…

I mean, it's very much understandable that some ppl don't know these characters because of their exclusivity to the books. Hopefully we get like, flashbacks or character shorts on them for V10. I personally like them and include them in my works, but what do y'all think?
If you have any discrepancy, please comment it respectfully

That my Question
It's that time of year again were it's spooky
So with that in mind what is your Idea for RWBY Halloween/Horror story? Who would be the main character? What would be the plot and where in Series continuity would you set it in?
My idea would something shortly after Team RWBY returns from Ever after Ruby starts to eat lots of Candy because of everything that happened wouldn't want to eat with B Plot with Yang having an idea of costume party to cheer everyone up
Still working on that one
But that's me what do you think would make a good RWBY Halloween/Horror story?
Let's do this

Here are one of his abilities:
. Danger-Detection: Can detect incoming danger to the host making it something like a Spider-Sense except it doesn’t detect danger if an ally of his is about to get attacked and using it for a period of time leads to painful migraines or even a blackout. It also replaces his brown irises with maroon for a short while. In addition, since this is a new ability (OC's name) just received some while ago, he isn’t fully accustomed to it causing him to get hits on his body despite his Semblance warning about it.
The problem is that I made it too much like Aura Sensory so I need your suggestion to differentiate the two and make Danger-Detection unique.
One of my ideas is that, he can see after-images of where his body is about to get hit or injured but it only works in close combat situations.

Okay I have two
Because which character had there own solo journey with a love interest
Blake
Which character had 2 exes who were evil and in love with them
Blake
Which character seems to make other characters more shallow around her
Like c'mon before Adam was derailed to be her ex he atleast seemed like a decent villain character until he became a creepy stalker
And atleast yang still cared about ruby only for her to start focusing on Blake and forgetting ruby
The fans seem to forget the gods were the ones who made the world it's akin to them having an ant farm and one ant gets uppity
The same ant when made to understand the importance of life and death lead a revolt with other ants to bite you
So the washed them away and kept the original ant to still have to learn the lesson they still refused to learn
The gods weren't even bothering the world until Salem interfered both of them were content watching and observing
The situation Salem finds herself in even her being corrupted into the grimm pools is her fault and hers alone

(My sweet Yang, what did they do to you)
I just found this subreddit recently and I must ask, WHAT HAPPENED TO RWBY?
I decided to rewatch the show and actually finish it; since years ago, I only watched up to volume 5. I used to be such a die hard fan back in the early days of volumes 1-3(massive crush on Yang).
I don't know what happened. I thought we were building something beautiful, but it got worse as it went on. My heart crumbles at what once was and what could have been.
All I can do now is take shelter in the fanfics of fans who loved this series. Just take me back😭

So here's an idea for a fanfic i had. It's like the betrayed Juane fics, but instead of him, it's team rwby with the basic plot being after a mission goes wrong ozpin. Who knew it go wrong but gave them the mission anyway in hopes of getting it done realizes too late. What happened as far as everyone is concerned? team rwby is dead, and ozpin send them to their death, but team rwby is instead sent to mha by the light brother God 11 mouths before the start of cannon, and they meet izuku. That's the basic plot

It's called Titan and I plan on filling it with Wrestlers from all over, and Def Jam Vendetta/Fight for NY, it is where my OC replacement for Jaune Arc is from, It's leaders are Triple H, The Rock and Paul Heyman, and all the Wrestlers and Def Jam Characters are Hunters and Huntresses that fight is weekly shows to entertain the civilians, the big arenas for the Wrestlers, and D-Mob and Snoop Dogg's fight clubs for the Def Jam Characters, thoughts?

I feel like the Fall of Beacon and its aftermath are the big turning point for the series.
The Fall of Beacon kicks us out of the Beacon Era/Beacon Academy and lets us see more of the world, but I do know some people actually liked Beacon More. Would you prefer they stayed at Beacon longer and just push the Fall/leaving later, or just not have them leave at all?
As for Team RWBY, they all get separated following the Fall:
Following all of these, plus the villains, means we have about 4-5+ plotlines to follow and constantly jump between for Volume 4 and most of Volume 5.
Having them separated does allow us to see more of the world (Yang and Ruby's home with Taiyang in Patch, plus getting to know Taiyang as a character), Atlas (Weiss' home and seeing how Ironwood is doing), and Blake's home (for better or for worse), but it also means we have a volume of Team RWBy not being Team RWBY together.
And even then, I have seen complaints about some of these.
For Weiss, I've seen people say, "Why can Jacques ground her or confine her to her room? She should be a legal adult by now; she should just be able to leave. Also, she has freaking magic superpowers; what can he or any guards do to stop her? Why sneak around?"
For Blake, a LOT of people hate her family reveals. Menagerie doesn't look like a cramped colony; it looks like a tropical paradise. IDK if they didn't want to crash their computers with how dense everything should've been or what. Then Blake's parents apparently live in a mansion and are the ones in charge. This completely went against what everyone thought her backstory was: being an orphan on the street raised by the White Fang. It made most of the fans think that Blake was just a spoiled princess who never faced real racism. Also, Kali's main contribution to the fandom is being a cougar for Sun.
For Yang, some people do tend to say her "trauma recovery arc" was a bit rushed or not as well handled. Sometimes, to me, it felt like it almost switched from trauma to anger issues. Like we see her hand shaking or her eyes go red in Volume 5, but that felt more like she was trying to control her temper.
So, how do you guys handle it? Do you have the Fall of Beacon happen or not? If you do, do you have it at the same time or later, and do you have Team RWBY separated or not? How do you keep them from being separated? What about Ruby passing out after her Silver Eyes awaken? Do you still go to the various locations from Volumes 4 and 5, or do you just ignore those?

Weiss instead of heading over to mistral heads to atlas taking up ironwood's offer and being assigned to a new team SNWF(Snowflake) led by Ciel Soleil
After the fall of beacon Ciel is the only person left from her team after Penny's death alongside the crippling of one of her other teammates her full team apart from her quit leaving her to be assigned to a new team
Flynt and neon are the only ones left of fnki having dealt with the same problem as Ciel with ivory and kobalt having been too injured during the fall to continue field work and serve desk duty
So ironwood rearranged the remaining teams to help Weiss be apart of a new team for the displaced students due to the fall
For this I'd honestly bring watts in to actually give Weiss her own villain so to speak
Like if you don't plan on Jacques being a big bad like making him a member of Salem's cabal than do the next best thing and have Weiss investigating them looking into her company or the white fang to see who was funding them
So for the purposes of the other three
Ciel could be our main connection to the atlesian military itself and how the team could get info on the goings on or how the drones in question got hacked and have them digging into watts on accident
Neon to the comedic relief but also to be the one to showcase the discrimination faunus face from not only atlas by other faunus who see her as betraying them for working for the enemy
Flynt meanwhile is there to have some friction in the team so they aren't all buddy buddy from the get go as not only as he been demoted down from leader by he's also forced to work with a schnee
Don't have a full storyline yet but would love to see what others come up with

So many times you see someone online blame the death of RT on Warner Bros. While ignoring the fact that RT was a terrible company bleeding money. They were already looking for someone to buy them years before they shutdown and that didn't happen. They had numerous controversies with their animation department especially. The company didn't support it's own workers numerous times like with Mica Burton. Barbara herself said during their last year they made less money than they did in 2011. This was before even the RWBY Red trailer came out.
And as you can see from the screenshots they did some shady things like taking in a questionable sponsorship and their team couldn't create their own personal Youtube or Twitch. Geoff Ramsey who got called out for being a horrible boss got caught liking a tweet saying they grew up in a different time and to stop letting other people ruin the show. This comment was under his apology post. Showing he one hundred percent didn't think what he did was that bad.
Honestly there were so many shady things RT did and said it would be hard to put it into one post. And since this is RWBY critics that includes members of the show too. Miles Luna said the n word and used his age as an excuse for why he said it when he was 25 at the time. Barbara and Arryn were saying this about 17 year old Billie Eilish.
Arryn: Dude she's great. She's talented. She's great.
Marcel: She's 17.
Arryn: I know and she's not into girls.
Barbara: Oh my god she's 12 years younger than me.
Arryn: I would have thought she would be into girls. She's not. Not that I'm into 17 year olds.
\table laughs\**
Barbara: One more year.
Arryn: One more year Billie!
Here's the video for you to see it. Even if that was a 'joke' it's not funny and creepy. If a guy said this you would think so. I remember when there were countdowns for when Emma Watson would become 18. This kind of thing happens in real life and it's gross to hear anyone say that.
This is why I don't feel bad RT was shutdown. The company was fostered by incompetent and terrible people. Good workers who wanted to do all they could got exploited and hurt as a result. And I didn't even show you guys everything. There's a whole thread about people's problems with the company. We didn't even get into everything either.

In my defense, unlike the Plato's Republic post I made, this time, it isn't because I happen to be reading Tocqueville and made a connection to RWBY. Instead, it's because I'm currently writing a crossover fic that involves the French Revolution. I am deliberately making this connection, not accidentally.
Now, for context. Alexis de Tocqueville in The Old Regime and the Revolution says the following:
Evils which are patiently endured when they seem inevitable become intolerable once the idea of escape from them is suggested. The removal of an abuse illuminates those which remain, and quickens our perception of them; the evil has indeed become less, but our sensibility to it is more acute.
For some history, Tocqueville argues that the French Revolution occurred not because they were at their worst, but that because things are becoming better. Many reforms and improvements were introduced during this time, he argues, that it served to make the remaining injustices unacceptable.
In the beginning (insofar as this is concerned), the faunus were basically discriminated against by the humans. We know that it exploded into the Faunus Rights Revolution. The short end is that the faunus managed to gain things from that war.
However, because they still faced discrimination after the war, the White Fang rose up likely as a peaceful organization handled by Ghira. Did it make a difference? Maybe, maybe not. In fact, I would think that the not could probably accelerate that escalation since the things they gained from the faunus war did show that faunus don't have to stay as being less than humans.
Blakes says, in reference to Sienna's ascent:
And the worst part was it was working. We were being treated like equals.
Because it was working, the few that continue to discriminate become more glaring, more out there, than if plenty of places ever did like Atlas (as I assume it to be the case). It also makes sense that the White Fang appears to be more violent in places like Mistral and Vale since those places are relatively more progressive than Atlas (at least insofar as we've seen of them). Vale naturally has Adam Taurus, and Mistral has Sienna Khan herself before Adam took charge.
In France, the places most violent were those where peasants have the most freedom they ever had. It works out, funnily enough, in favor of what we already have had we gone with that as an allegory than what was initially claimed to be (the Civil Rights Movement).
We can even do the same with the leadership. With Ghira, we have the early reformists. He could be like the constitutional monarchists who argue for reform while keeping the monarchy. Through peaceful reform and protest, meaningful change could occur albeit slowly.
When Sienna came along, we have what Blake has said. The early raids and violence that were targeted against those that discriminate against the faunus. Under Sienna, one can argue a moderate approach where violence is a tool. But like a tool, it must used properly, calculated and controlled. Sienna here is our Girondin.
With each concession and equal treatment the faunus receive, expectations skyrocket. And since violence is what's getting them these results, it follows (however fallaciously) that more violence should lead to better results.
Enter Adam Taurus, who one can argue is "more extreme" than Sienna and our Jacobin. Anyone familiar with the French Revolution would know that things only got more radical as it went on, with the moderates being executed (like Sienna had been).
One can even fit the Cinder/Salem elements into this as the White Fang making an alliance of convenience (working with the humans) as the Revolutionary government did just that in order to ensure the survival of their Republic. In the case of the White Fang, they are working with Roman Torchwick just to dismantle the academies (even if it's technically Cinder's machinations).
Even the dissolution of the White Fang in Volume 5 can kind of fit into this, albeit with more heads still on their respective shoulders, if we consider the Thermidorian Reaction. Here, the downfall of Adam Taurus resulted in the end of the White Fang's peak radical violence. Here, Adam's obsession would have threatened all faunus as per canon and thus needed to be removed.
If you follow history, however, you'd know that during the Thermidorian Reaction is the First White Terror, the retaliation against the Jacobins which could have covered the plotline of Adam's obsession over Blake if this was the direction taken (rewriting required, but you get it). Alternatively, this could be the implied storyline (or companion material) focusing on Ilia Amitola continuing the work of improving faunus lives in Mistral while canon does as it does.
Should there be reason to take it further, we'd have to deal with a faunus Napoleon Bonaparte. But by that point, the White Fang plotline becomes its own thing independent from the show by then.
The point here is thus: The White Fang plotline would have done better as a French Revolution allegory than a Civil Rights Movement one.
Your thoughts?

Like the title says, It's getting real tiring seeing the "What about-ism" whenever I see people try to defend the terrible actions of Rooster Teeth. Always with the "Well about google and amazon, and disney and etc? you guys never call them out for their actions!" Which is laughable because, unless you been living under a rock, people have been calling out these companies. A long while, actually. I mean the amount of times that I've seen people criticize Disney for doing dumb shit.
And it boggles my mind that there are people willing to overlook this company's actions because they made their favorite show or treat them as a small indie company. When by the time Warner had it, it wasn't an indie series anymore. "I look up and found some of them were actually are actually invalid" Yes that is an actual statement I read from someone defending this company. Wild thing to say I know. I get wanting to defend a company you like, that isn't the issue. I've defended Sega a few times, but when a company is this terrible and has multiple controversies, there's a point where you can't defend the actions anymore.
It's just so tiring seeing "What this company? and that company?" because to me it feels like its brushing past the actions of a terrible company that didn't deserve a dollar, nor cent.
And it really sucks because there are talent people at RT, but those talented people at least imo, deserve to be treated better at a company that actually cares.

For me personally
Ruby Rose: As a kid, Ruby frequently took apart household appliances (like toasters) to try and turn them into weapons, much to the dismay of Yang and Tai and she also has a strong soft spot for white daisies—associating them with her mother's cloak and picking them with Yang to weave flower crowns.
Weiss Schnee: Despite her high-class upbringing, she secretly loves cheap, greasy fast food and she knows how to play a violin.
Blake Belladonna: She shares a quiet friendship with Lie Ren, frequently drinking tea, practicing yoga, or silently judging the chaotic antics of their respective teammates and she also dislike swimming or getting wet.
Yang Xiao long: Her love of bad puns is inherited from her father, Taiyang, and started when she was a young child trying to cheer up Ruby and She also treats hot peppers and extreme spice levels as a competitive sport, secretly dreaming of appearing on a hot wing interview show.
