I saw Galactic Racer was free to stream on Amazon Luna. I recently played through Dispatch on it with my Ally Z1E and had a great experience, so thought I'd try out Galactic Racer.

The controls don't work. Yes, I have it switched to gamepad mode, and Luna gives the "your controller is all set up" notification. It has significant lag (like half second) on racing controls. Maybe 2 seconds lag in the menu, and the inputs seem to "jam up" and then go through all at once. Some inputs don't work. Switching to the Desktop/virtual mouse control mode (I forget what that's called on the Ally), and the inputs that DO work have NO lag, so I don't believe it is a streaming latency thing.

This behavior is consistent between streaming via Edge or the Luna desktop application. Works great on my desktop PC.

Anybody else try this? Any ideas?

Trying to delete windows login, however it is greyd out to toggle that off. I tryed command center and it said access denied as well. Any help here?

Secondly do yall recommend doing a full setup? Doc station, monitor, fan, controller/keyboard? If so any best recommendations?

Playing everything I throw at it, I have a 5080 desktop for any heavy games but laying in bed playing FC27, undisputed, PGA, rocket leauge man I should of got one earlier lol

I just got home from work and grabbed my ROG Ally to play some games. Suddenly, I started hearing this weird noise, and I noticed that the games I launched were running much slower than usual.
Everything was working fine before, so I’m not sure what happened. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Does anyone know what could be causing it?

ps: I did clean the fans but it still does the noises

So I just got a rog xbox ally x earlier this month. I've completely reset windows and Uninstalled armory crate and reinstalled, and still nothing.

On all the preset tdp settings the fans do not turn on at all. Ends up getting really hot and thermal throttling. however in custom, the fans work perfectly fine. I've tried everything possible found on Google and still nothing. Using custom is fine but being able to one click ajust the tdp would be nice.

I also wanted to ask others that have the same device what kinda frames there getting cause it seems low to me.

Baldurs gate 3 (act 1) no matter my settings cannot get past a steady 45 frames. And exactly the same for destiny 2. Both can reach like 55 and occasionally 60 frames but it's like i can put ultra settings and get around 30fps, or super performance everything on low and 720p and only get like a 10-15 frame boost. Im running 8gb Vram.

Every possible update has been updated and my TDP in manual i set to 35 just to see what frames I can get. And it's super good temps too, im at like 60c-up to like 78c absolutely maxed out as I can.

The game launches, and then crashes. It has done this ever since I got my XAX.

I wanted to see if the Ally could replace my laptop for light work and docked gaming during a short trip. The performance was fine for what I expected. The real eye opener was how much the screen and stand setup mattered once I stopped treating it like a tiny PC.

A cheap adjustable stand plus a second screen I already owned made the experience feel closer to a real desk than any spec upgrade would. Battery while docked is a non issue but heat management needs attention if you push it for long sessions.

Curious how others here balance the portable side with the docked side. Do you keep one fixed setup or rebuild it each time you travel.

I have tried removing the screws and taking apart but the top 5 screws refuse to come out idk what to don

I had checked my armory crate today and there's update you can download but you can't install it dose anyone know about it?

I've updated all possible drivers / updates in windows, myasus , and armoury crate alongside turning off fast startups. It can happen once booting up the ally or mid game. Any possible solutions for this?

I've been playing slime rancher 2 the past few weeks on my Rog ally through steam and everything's been fine until today. When I tried opening it today I got a pop up saying "Fatal Error: Failed to load il2cpp" and a notification from windows defender saying it blocked the GameAssembly dll file .

After checking windows defender, turning ALL the options off and adding the games folder to exclusions (as well as the steamapps common folder where all my steam games are downloaded and the dll file extension) I tried again. No luck

I deleted the game assembly file and reinstalled it by verifying the files on steam. This also didn't work. Tried again after deleting and reinstalling the whole game to similar results.

Updated windows and whatever needed updating through armour crate.

I tried updating/repairing visual c++

I ran both the game and steam as administrator

tried creating another windows profile because I saw that might work.

Nothing I've tried has worked and I genuinely don't know what else to do, just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue or if anyone has any ideas. Thank you 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

i have steam os installed on rog ally z1 extreme. i know how to flash the bios since ive done it in the past when i was on windows via the BIOS.

but now im on steam os with secure boot disabled etc. if i flash my bios will it turn on secure boot? and maybe corrupt my drive since its steam os?

I tried to replace the thermal paste with ptm7950

My temps were 85 at 15w and 95 at 20w, 2 fans in max

What should I do to continue in this repair?

Tomorrow's the day! I'm switching from the original X to the X20 coming out, and I'm wanting to see if I can just take my SSD from one to the other without issue. I'm sure I'll have to update some drivers and things, but it's a 4TB and I don't want to have to wipe the drive first if possible. Any assistance is appreciated!

I switched from a switch lite to an asus rog ally z1 extreme, I've upgraded the battery to 74wh and ssd to 2tb, OMG, big f*skin change, I love it and all the differences are significantly noticeable, I'm glad I made the switch, i have 15 AAA games and still have 1.2TB left. I'm sooooo happy about the switch.

Hey all I been trying play my games on tv more as my eyes are getting worse. I bought a jsaux dock abd I have tried two separate cables one is offcial 100 watt from Asus and then one that came with the ally. I got z1 exstreme. But for whatever reason with same specs and resolution the console lags really bad on the tv could that be a dock going bad and bo putting enough power to ally. Anyone reccomend a better dock thanks.

I’ve recently been playing Minecraft with my girlfriend ( bedrock gamepass) I’m on my ps5, and she uses my Rog Ally. It’s been working fine for months, then last night we were having problems with her accidentally tapping the screen and Minecraft would resort back to the touchscreen controls.

After fooling around with settings trying to disable the screen to prevent that from happening, after I thought I had solved it, I realized the controller no long responds correctly to inputs on Minecraft. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the controller working correctly again. I can look around, raise my shield, but cannot walk, move or do anything else.

Can someone share their fan curve. I am thinking of 22w as that is the sweet spot I think but just want to check what will be the best fan curve to get most cooling as I am using a pre-installed one and it is not that great.

So, I have the original Ally Z1E, and I'm considering installing the JSAUX 65Wh battery upgrade kit, which comes with its own replacement backplate.

I do already have the JSAUX ModCase for my Ally, but I'm worried about one specific detail:

The original Ally backplate has a ROG logo shaped vent opening on the left side and a regular fan vent opening on the right. The ModCase seems to be designed around this original layout, with a cutout for the ROG logo on the left.

But here comes the problem: the replacement backplate included with the JSAUX battery upgrade doesn't have that ROG logo shaped opening. Instead, it has the regular fan vent pattern on both sides.

I'm specifically wondering whether the ModCase's left-side cutout will partially cover the new ventilation slots on the replacement backplate.

I've seen reports that the ModCase can physically fit after the battery upgrade, but I haven't found a clear answer about this particular airflow issue, and not a clear response if it can actually fit..

Has anyone tried this exact combination?

If youve got this setup, I'd love to know whether you've noticed any difference in temperatures or airflow.

I have a quick question so when your handheld rog alley PC goes off when you're not using it and your wireless mouse and keyboard are connected to the PC wen you click or tap on either your mouse or your keyboard does your handheld PC rog ally come on because mine doesn't cause I got the handheld?

I'm just asking, because before my handheld PC used to come on, when I would on a key on my keyboard, or when I click my mouse and move it around now, it's not

Finally decided to use the dock after buying it last year. I’m not finding any tutorials for this specific dock, the QR code on instructions just led me to the same YT review of some guy giving a review but not so much tutorial set up. I can get it to display on my tv but it doesn’t actually charge while docked which doesn’t seem right. At first I thought it was my z1e just wanted to stop charging after attempting to charge and orange light came on but not actually charging and then I realized I had a 25 watt base with a 100 watt charger 🤦🏽‍♂️ swapped that out and when I connect a separate cord from the dock 65 watt fast charging port it turns it on but no charging as seen in vid. And when I use the included cable from the dock it makes the screen go black?? But still not an issue actually displaying it on tv I just can’t get it to actually charge while docked. Anybody able to help me trouble shoot? I feel like it’s something as simple as I missed a step during setting this up but I just can’t find an actual setup guide online.
