Impersonation/Original Content

Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!

Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.

It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.

Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

- The Mod Father on behalf of the Mod Family

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.

Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:

  1. report the user to us!

-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.

-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.

all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..

2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report

3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.

To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:

Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.

Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.

As an aside, a note on image theft:

it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.

We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

Done completely with willpower diet and exercise! Started at the end of 2023 just slowly changing my diet. Slowly went into a calorie deficit during 2024. 2025 really got serious and got into the gym. Now I follow a low carb diet and keep it pretty simple which with a good cardio routine naturally keeps me in a deficit as I slowly been losing. I have 15 more lbs to reach goal weight and see it happening soon!

I gained 21 lbs since I got back into weightlifting in June 2025. Prior to this I had some weightlifting experience from when I was 18 and then again around 25 briefly. When I started this current journey I was the lightest I had been in nearly 10 years after unintentionally losing about 15 lbs between 2022 and 2024. My weight stalled around 185 for most of 2026 but in the past month I've changed my approach to lifting, doing much more volume per body part each workout, and I instantly started seeing the scale go up again. I am extremely proud of the results I've achieved, and I have done this without the use of anabolic substances, peptides, GLP-1 medications or any other PEDs. Hoping to inspire other people to stay natural and push hard in the gym and with their diet.

I started my weight loss journey back in March at around 285 lbs, took this picture when I was 10lbs down in May and I'm now down to 205 lbs. That's 80 lbs gone!

These pictures were taken exactly five months apart, on May 16 and October 15. It's the same Old Navy hoodie style, just in different colours and sizes. An XL in May and a Medium today.

BMI 30+ M/41/5'8" [203 lbs > 165 lbs = 38 lbs] No extreme workouts, just consistency. NSFW

I used to weigh 92 kg (203 lbs), and honestly, my eating habits were a mess. Beer, Coke, Snickers, fast food - pretty much anything, anytime. No meal schedule, late-night snacks, and absolutely no attention to what I was eating.

My turning point was trying the keto diet. I cut out sugar, drastically reduced carbs like pasta, potatoes, and bread, and started paying attention to my food choices.

I stayed on keto for about 6–12 months and lost weight pretty quickly. Eventually, I started slowly bringing carbs back into my diet.

Throughout the process, I worked out 2–3 times a week. Nothing extreme. I have a busy work schedule, so I never went crazy with training. I just tried to stay consistent.

The biggest game changer for me? Cutting out sugar, soda, and fast food.

Now I'm at 75 kg (165 lbs), feeling better, and still enjoying life without obsessing over every calorie.

My biggest lesson: You don't need to be perfect. You just need to be consistent.

For anyone who's just starting - small changes really do add up over time. 💪

I took that first photo about a week before my 40th birthday. I was tired of how I looked, tired of how I felt, and pretty unhappy with where I’d let myself get.

Yesterday was my 45th birthday, so I figured a current progress photo was warranted.

I lost the first 75 pounds in the first year. I was up and down a bit for a couple years after that, but over the past five years I’ve achieved a level of fitness I never expected to find. I’m healthier, I feel better, and I’m now over three years alcohol-free.

Lots of time in the gym, and somewhere along the way I learned to genuinely love running too. Definitely not something I ever thought I’d admit.

100 pounds down. Five years older. And I feel a hell of a lot younger.
