Took a nice long walk tonight, after enjoying an outdoor meal with my pup and partner. So many people out on this pleasant evening. Thought I’d share the view!

Bootsy has been lost since yesterday. She is a skinny, black lab mix, with gray fur on her snout. If found, please take her to the nearest shelter or vet. She is microchipped! She is a nervous dog and may be skittish or nip. She has her shots.

ETA: She has a flea collar on

Photo/Video Niko is up for adoption at Oregon Dog Rescue in Portland

I had the pleasure of walking Niko today.

He's a two year old, 50 pound, Alaskan Husky/Malamute mix.

He walks well on a leash and is friendly with other dogs and humans. Someone else's dog snapped and lunged from across the footpath and he stayed composed and calm the entire time.

And he's gorgeous.

You can check him and the other dogs up for adoption here:

We are lucky enough to have a view of Mt. Hood outside our place. Twice a year, I try to catch it when the sun comes up directly behind the peak. Here was this morning’s photos from that event. I use an old Nikon P900 with a sun filter from a telescope to capture these.

Lost & Found If you or someone you know abandoned 7-8 cats in a crate in Laurelhurst Park on April 4 or 5, 2026…

I can only speak to one of the kitties, but I just wanted you to know he’s so, so loved, such a delight, and rarely has diarrhea anymore. The shelter suspected they came from a hoarding situation. If that’s true, I can tell you loved this little guy, and I hope you’re okay and are getting the help you need. I just wanted you to know that all the kitties got adopted, and the one I have is such a gift. So thank you.

My dad came to visit me this week and snapped this fun shot yesterday while walking near Tilikum crossing. I’ve always enjoyed the pics he takes when he visits. His perspective on the city as a tourist is endearing.

EDIT: He found a new home.

This is Frankie. My mom just went into the hospital and cannot take care of him. I can't take care of him either. He's not aggressive, but he also has no manners. He's about 9 months old and approximately 70 pounds. He shouldn't go to anyone with kids or cats because I am not sure how he would react around them. He has a tendency to chase squirrels. Rehoming fee: $100

Discussion A friend of mine is running for Portland City Council, and here's why I'm backing him

Full disclosure up front: Tom Sollitt is a good friend of mine, so I'm biased. But I've known him for 7 years and what convinced me to put my name behind his campaign is how he handles problems: he listens first, then does the homework. You can read his platform here: www.tomforpdx.com

I'm not asking anyone to take my word for it. Check him out, go to an event and ask him the hard questions. Tell me why in the comments if you think I'm wrong.

Discussion "Stop Child Abuse" signature harvesters at SE 6th Ave Goodwill

They were outside of Goodwill, seemingly on Goodwill property with signature sheets and signs that say "Stop Child Abuse". Given this state's history with ballot measures leaning right I'm assuming it's some anti-trans nonsense but I didn't go over to ask because I thought I might make a scene if I was right. What exactly are they gathering signatures for?

AMA I'm Esther León, District 3 Candidate for Portland City Council. AMA!

Hi r/Portland ! My name is Esther León and I'm running for Portland City Council District 3!

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over a decade of experience successfully navigating the highly regulated, socially complex, and dynamic (and broken) environment of the American healthcare system. I have worked in homes, hospitals, hospice/palliative care, outpatient, and jails/prisons. I am also a part-time Professor at Mt. Hood Community College.

I love Portland deeply and am absolutely thrilled to be running to represent my home of District 3.

I'll be here answering questions from noon to 1:30pm (ish) Friday 10/16. I will do my best to respond to ALL questions, so if I don't respond while the AMA is live I will respond later. Ask me anything!!
