The Agni Kai was 2 days ago. Azula has been restrained and confined to a temporary cell. She's transferred to a psyche ward just today and YOU volunteered to give your best effort to help her.
How would you proceed?

Of all the bad things she did, being a "bad sister" is very low on the list, yet somehow like 50%+ of all "redemption" stories involving her are about her "becoming a good sister" and beginning to serve Zuko.

I'm not one to bitch and complain but It stopped being funny and not weird after the 2000th time I've seen it.

This is an interesting essay. I don't agree with it completely, but it really changes your perspective on things. Also, the whole goal-motivation-conflict thing is a really useful way to think about characters in general.

I have to put this here because people can be downright weird on Reddit btw no problematic answers no shipping war arguments or hate unless the ship is problematic letâs be civil here guys.
Me personally Iâm a multishipper I ship: Azula/sokka, Yue/Azula, Katara/Azula, Azula/Suki, Azula/Toph.
Wanted to point out that even if I donât personally ship something or have another opinion I respect your outlook as-long as itâs not problematic I find shipping wars or petty arguments to be pretty useless I just like seeing otherâs outlooks on things.

Part of this is me self projecting other most is actual character analysis pardon me I get hyperfixations go on whole character analysis episodes and need a genuine headcanon rant place. Azulaâs one of my favorite characters if not my favorite.
Azula is most definitely neurodivergent in general but as an autistic person myself I definitely hc her as autistic. (I think Zuko is aswell because autism is a spectrum and varies by person). Oh I feel like this is rarely pointed out but Azula sometimes fiddles with her side-framing hair strands in the animation when she is speaking thought it was an interesting thing to point out in relating to stimming. Azula is also highly punctual we see this in the beach episode. She likely sticks to a specific schedule and any change seems to bother her I can reference Sozinâs comet where she was expecting to be fighting alongside Ozai but instead was given the role Firelord. Also Azula seems like a character to possess lower empathy which hypo-empathy is also a trait associated with autism (I also struggle with hypo-empathy eh)
I see a lot of people use flat headcanons for Azula sexuality wise but In a more logical aspect I genuinely think Azula would be pansexual only because the idea of gender seems like an irrelevant concept to her. I feel like She would like a person for their strategic prowess and stuff etc she only flirted with Chan because she didnât really know how to properly process a regular social situation that didnât involve scripted manipulations and stuff (autism) she wasnât actually attracted to Chan but wanted to appear ânormalâ in that ep. âGender normsâ or âsocietal expectationsâ donât seem like something Azula would personally bother with sheâd see a person as a person with attributing qualities or in attributing qualities regardless of gender.
On the more darker side of things and Iâve personally struggled with it myself I think Azula struggles with SH. Partially in the past due training error or possible private meltdown due to past failures as we all know she tends to be a perfectionist and Azula is a good example of internalizing mental suffering until one breaks. I feel this definitely could apply more after her friends betrayal. Thatâs when Azula started to decline more and after the boiling rock we only ever see Azula in long sleeves. Also avatar universe goes over dark topics itâs likely to have happened Azulaâs externally very put together but is an internally self-loathing emotionally/mentally unstable character.
Edit: lord yall are fighting chill I have to put this up here Iâm gonna implode.
If you have a diff hc thatâs great donât take mine at face value the thing about headcanons is characters can be interpreted differently by different people and theyâre not explicitly canon. my character headcanons are backed by my own character analysis and my interpretation of sources cited but itâs also me partially coping with my own issues. đ

I still want her to keep her personality and dont became 100% nice, like if she make some food to Zuko and the Gaang i still wants her to be "This is the Most Delicious Food your peasants mouth You ever taste" or Zuko always have to scould her because she is teaching something dangerous to Izumi or Kiyi
