Original Content Poem Missing Reflection

She moves as a melody with a sweet song in her step
Has a thirst for knowledge that knows no depth
An inquisitive eye, undeniably fly
She takes little effort to dress up and impress

Loud and flashy attire becomes polished and refined
Not a hair out of place with it’s lovely golden shine
A voice that is lyrical, never harsh or irritable
She stays stable and steady through any version of time

Hear her velvety laughter ripple through the air
Reflect on the wisdom she dispenses with care
In prose bespoke with simple elegance
A softened stroke of linguistic eloquence
Her words are your cure for dread and despair

Gifted is she with magnetic wit and charming grace
An eclectic spirit befit in a warm and pretty face
Citing poetry to move you, using logic to disprove you
Showing you why philosophy cannot be tied
To certain religious rights or race

Can this perfect persona truly be real?
Or is she a crafted ideal with no definite form
Living as an image protected from scorn
She hides behind the inner corners of the mind
Where change must take shape before action is born

So when I catch a glimpse in the mirror
It is only me who I see
Missing is that girl I know I’ll never be

maybe you love me

maybe you’ll change
maybe you won’t

maybe i see you
maybe i’m blind
maybe you’re different
maybe that’s fine

Original Content Poem Supposed

I was supposed to be in love with you

I think

I don't know when

I don't know how

But truth is what is left

after the flesh is off the bone

in the silt and tide and earth compounds

and it seems so clear here

at the end

It was supposed to be you.

Sometimes we miss,

but this time,

it was meant.

Original Content Poem If You Were Here

If you could see inside my mind,
the places that we go,
the little dreams I have of us
and things you'll never know.

I'd pull you close and kiss your lips,
and hold you for a while,
I'd whisper all the things I feel
and melt beneath your smile.

I'd spend my mornings next to you,
my evenings in your arms,
and fall asleep beside you,
so safe and loved and warm.

And sometimes when I close my eyes,
I almost feel you near,
close enough to make me smile,
then wish that you were here.

But until dreams become our days,
and all our wishes come true,
I'll keep on dreaming every night
of waking up with you.

Original Content Poem Folly

Being a fool is a bliss

Words won't hurt you,

And the truth is worthless,

Because you are a fool.

Being a fool is a blessing

You don't need to face the cruel reality.

Their stares will mean nothing.

Their laugh will be just a laugh.

Being a fool takes courage

To forget everything and pretend.

Pretending to be a fool is to be happy.

Life would be easy if you know nothing.

I wanted to be a fool,

But I can't.

I can't un-know.

I can't eat everything and anything.

But I want to be a fool so it won't hurt anymore.

Original Content Poem The one, who always wear glasses.

There is not point
In curving
The shape of you.
The way your glasses tilt,
As the perfect imagery would fail.

If you are a light,
Pass through me at a glance.
It is shy.
Under the broad daylight,
Refractions were made right.

And I am ready,
For becoming your readiness.
Just hum a word out,
Until the roses in the window smile.

I really like the version of me when I'm with you
No, seriously I do
I love you

And I'll never let any hardships cross our way
These days you don't seem to miss your ex
Do you know where he is now?
Well, I can't explain what I did to him, where and how

Original Content Poem The instruction Book

I laughed, not because it was funny, but because I’d seen it all before.

The same tired tropes, the same old pain, the same body declared a war.

An illness with an illness, a misery made art,

A slow disappearance striking cold and sharp and smart.

How many books could tell the same story and give it a different name?

How many lives could fall apart before it stopped being the same?

They made it sound so sacred, the suffering, the pain,

As though there was something lovely in having nothing left to gain.

I kept reading, half amused by how predictable it could be.

Another character hating their reflection, another line that felt like me.

And wasn’t that the strangest part, the thing I couldn’t quite ignore?

I laughed at all the things I knew, then turned the page for more.

Outside, the first real cold had settled heavy in the air,

The kind that slips beneath your skin and leaves you standing there,

The kind that makes the world go quiet, numbing you for a while,

Until you almost can’t remember how it ever felt to smile.

There were quiet lines for every day, a precise and silent count

Of taking less than you were given, measuring down the amount.

Of trying to make a body smaller, needing less to be enough.

I knew those lines. I knew that fear. I’d written my own somewhere,

Keeping track of every day I thought I took more than my share.

And still, I laughed. How could I not? They’d captured it so well,

The quiet little tragedy, the private kind of hell.

They gave the pain a purpose, made the suffering profound,

As if you needed pretty words to make a life worth writing down.

But reaching the end, I turned back, tracing every act.

The lines were still the same, the ink hadn’t moved an inch,

Yet something in the words I’d mocked made my stomach twist.

I read them again, and once again. What once felt far away

Was standing quietly in the room, with nowhere left to stray.

I’d thought I knew the story, that I’d seen it all before,

But every line I read again became a closing door.

The room grew cold. My hands held tight against the final page.

I’d laughed at all the clichés, dismissed them as a phase,

As if knowing how the story went could keep me safe from harm,

As if recognizing the trap meant I’d never lose my calm.

I looked down at the paper, at the ink beneath my thumb.

I’d spent so long believing I was different, that I couldn't be this dumb,

That this story wasn't mine to claim, that I was standing clear.

But the more I read, the less was left between myself and here.

I wanted to laugh again, to call it fake, to claim they didn't know,

To pretend the author guessed at things I’d never dared to show.

But the words stayed printed on the page, and nothing left to hide,

And for once I couldn’t close the cover and leave it all inside.

I’d picked up the book to mock the grief between every little line,

At the way they made a sickness sound so holy, so divine.

I stopped laughing for a second and put the instruction book away.

Cause I knew the book by heart,

My words on full display.

Potentially Triggering Content The last day I wanted to kill myself NSFW

I remember the last day I wanted to kill myself
It was a sunny day with a pleasant view
I was alone with my favourite music on
Standing tall below the blue hue

You say, it’s selfish to think that way
It’s disrespectful and inconsiderate
Oh love, I wish I could explain
My heart refused to consider it

This was not the first time you know
The rooftop at thirteen
Or the chokehold at seventeen
It’s wasn’t a new drill, it’s was just me

This time felt different
This note was heavy
I didn’t care for this world
Be you or even my family

You know, it’s funny how life is
You love them when they are gone
So I bled my thoughts, I loved them most
A note for when, they are alone

How dare you call me selfish?
Let my body get cold
Hey, I just killed myself
Don’t lie, we weren’t friend or foe

Well, I didn’t yet kill myself
I did a thousand times though
You see I lived a million lives
In that moment alone

I stood by the window sill
Killing myself mercilessly
With each blow, every jump
I, just felt free

I killed and killed and killed
Till I couldn’t no more
I stood there silently, stared into the abyss
My mind felt numb, my heart no remorse

It was oh so so different
I wish I could explain
Earlier trailed from anger
This one trailed from pain

I did, I had enough this time
I knew not for what though
What made it scary—I was calm
I was poised yet I wanted to go

I kept changing the music
As if to listen it all
This was my last day
Astute, I made a call

I lived more that day than I ever had
I wanted to take it all
I loved that day with no expectations
I smiled, I gave, I laughed, I got up, I knew I’ll fall

It’s sounds foolish, almost comical to say
The broken parts, the heart, the brain
That waited for an angel to heal
Healed when I wanted to kill again

So I rushed by the window sill
Where I killed millions of me
I picked each body with my own hand
Apologising to all, apologising to me

Oh you, oh love, look at your heart
And oh me, oh love, what happened to you love
Oh we, oh us, where is your gut
I cried for everyone, less than but enough

Some had their ego shattered
Some had a broken heart
Some had pent up anger
Some just fell apart

I shrouded each with all I could
Forgave those that did to it
I built a grave where then I sat
Among all the dead that hit

I have looked forward to life since then
I learned to love all and myself
I have not thought about it since then but
I remember the last day I wanted to kill myself

Potentially Triggering Content The child who cried

i was the child who cried.

the one who cried over words
that everyone else forgot,
who heard the difference in a voice
and wondered what had changed,
who watched a smile fall apart
before the person wearing it knew.

i was the child who cried
when someone said they were fine,
but something in their eyes said otherwise.
the child who felt a room grow colder
before anyone admitted
that something was wrong.

and they called me sensitive.

called me dramatic,
too emotional,
too much of everything
and never enough of anything else.

“once a crybaby, always a crybaby.”

god, how those words followed me.

i learned to swallow tears
until my throat ached,
to apologize for my feelings
before anyone could be inconvenienced by them,
to wipe my face before entering a room
so nobody would have to ask
what was wrong with me this time.

i grew up,
but some part of me stayed small,
still standing in the doorway
with wet cheeks and trembling hands,
wondering why feeling hurt
was something i had to be ashamed of.

because nobody tells you
that the child who cries
might be the child who notices.

the shift in a voice.
the sadness tucked behind a smile.
the silence that lasts a second too long.
the way someone says goodbye
when a part of them wishes you would ask them to stay.

i noticed everything.

and i carried it
like it was mine to fix.

every unspoken sadness,
every swallowed confession,
every little crack in someone’s happiness
that they tried so desperately to hide.

i became fluent in the feelings
nobody wanted to name,
and somehow,
i was still the one
they called too sensitive.

i wonder how many times
that little kid cried alone
because they thought growing up
meant learning how not to.

how many tears i mistook for weakness,
how many apologies i gave
for a heart that had never learned
how to feel things halfway.

and isn’t it cruel?

to spend your childhood
being told you’re too much,
only to grow up
and realize how much of yourself
you spent trying to become less.

i wish i could find that child again.

i would sit beside them on the floor.
i wouldn’t tell them to calm down.
i wouldn’t ask them to explain
why something hurt so badly.

i would just hold them
while they cried.

and when they finally looked at me
with those swollen eyes
and asked me what was wrong with them,
i would tell them the truth.

nothing, baby.

there was never anything wrong with you.

you were a child
in a world that taught you
to be embarrassed by your own tenderness.

you were not weak for noticing.
you were not broken for caring.
you were not a crybaby for crying.

and maybe some part of me
will always be that child.

the child who cried,
the child who cared,
the child who felt everything
and never knew how to put it down.

but this time,
i will not ask them to be quiet.

this time,
when they cry,

i will listen.

Original Content Poem Uninterested. If you like it or knot.

It is the smothering pain
Versus the smoking vein.
Blue underneath,
And velvet grows on the ground.
I set my foot in the pool,
Where there was always a loop.
It is gone now,
Forever
And for good.
I cannot hum this pain,
Like the stupid pounding rain.

Requesting Feedback The snake told you you were chosen to see

The snake told you
You were chosen
To see what you would do

Would you share
The power you received
With those less fortunate
Or would you claim
It was yours only

Would you look down
To the people you could enslave
Or would you look up to

Who gave it to you?

So what will you do
With the power you received
Will you bring
War or peace

I see
hear
and take in
what dying loved ones feel
and in those ultra real
moments of being there
when lives
transcendent
pass
I am present

I can bear any sorrow
absorb any fear
for I am not myself
but a way through,
a simultaneous view
of a past, present, and future
rendezvous

Original Content Poem Left behind

What about the things that you left at my place?
What I left at yours?
What we left in our space
After every time we walked through the doors?

If we feel no regret, then let it all fade
If no longing remains
If no heartache or chains
If it feels too strange, then walk away.

But come on over if you wanna come over
If you wanna drop by, just do
I’m still right here, nothing’s different with you.

And I’ll drop by if you want me to drop by
I guess that I will, but hey—
Please tell me out loud if I overstay.

Did we really leave nothing behind anymore?
Is this really the end? Better check around once more
Take a look before you walk out the door
(Take a look around before saying goodbye)

If there's nothing we forgot, then let it just be
(You won't come, you won't come, you won't come)
No need to drop by to see
No regrets left to trace
Treat it like the very last time.

But come on over if you wanna come over
If you wanna drop by, just do
I’m still right here, nothing’s different with you.

And I’ll drop by if you want me to drop by
I guess that I will, but hey—
Please tell me out loud if I overstay
(Tell me out loud if I stay right here)
Please tell me out loud if I overstay
Please tell me out loud if I stay...

Listen:
Please kick me out.
Please send me home.

Potentially Triggering Content A good man’s burden

I fear for a kid I do not have.
I fight threats my head wills into being.
Threats that kill.
But I don’t mind.
I gladly lay down my life every time.
To protect just before I snap back.
Heart hollow, eyes full of tears.
But none would dare run down my cheek.
I see your eyes, filled with longing, hopes and dreams.
Eyes that want to move ahead into a time I dread.
But for you I will.
I will endure.
I will protect.
Will fight and die, day in day out.
Just so when mu time comes I am ready.
For I have prepared my mind to fulfil my purpose.
To protect the kid we will then have.
To face the threats with clarity in mind.
To lay down my life so you can have yours.

Potentially Triggering Content Between the Concrete

Little child
Don’t cry
Even if it hurts
Here somewhere
Flowers still bloom between the concrete
Flowers still bloom beneath the rubble
Pick one
That is the prettiest
And put it in your hair

Beautiful child
Tomorrow at school, if it still exists
Press it in your books, if they haven’t burnt
So that you can keep them forever, if your eyes can still see.
It will be a memory for you alone to hold, if you still have arms

Poor child
Don’t cry
It is not your fault that life is so hard
Your lullabies are gunfights
Birds in the sky are airplanes overhead
That you know not a life
Where flowers bloom on the grass
Of a verdant meadow in spring
Instead of beneath the rubble somewhere
In your half closed palm
Stained with blood

Original Content Poem Liquid silver

To be so frigid when you’re next to sun
Putting up a blockade to shield yourself
Because your nature decided what is done.
It’s baffling to see how a rocky ball could be made soft when it’s been shunned.

A gorgeous metallic droplet melts in a crease of the hand
Running down your spotless forearm, watching your skin and tissues expand.
Poisoning your blood and very existence,
But pain arrives and settles with distance.

It festers in you, tainting the parts you felt were always normal.
The tide of your belly slows and your eyelids turn red.
A feeling familiar, yet impossible to place.
Your heart was in retrograde and I an illusion in space

5.5 How Empires Fall

Poem by Emilia Sameyn Desmet

13/10/2026

Is this how it ends?
So many lost friends

Only bureaucracy stands

Screens and adds

Yet empty shelves

Bodies full of fats

Brains gone bad

Budget shrinks

Prices soar

Protests roar

What's the meaning of it all?

Is this how it ends?
How empires fall?

Original Content Poem Love Me Like That

Love me sweetly in the morning,
then want me late at night,
make me blush with all the things
you whisper just right.

Tell me that you love me,
then whisper that I’m yours,
and somehow I let you closer
than I did the day before.

I love the way you want me,
the butterflies you start,
but somehow all that wanting
only pulls me to your heart.

It’s how you make me feel desired
and still so deeply loved,
like tenderness and hunger
were always meant to touch.

So love me soft, want me badly,
say my name the way you do,
because somehow all that sweetness
only makes me want you too.

Requesting Feedback Irrevocable

The storm hit in the middle of the night

With it's thundering thoughts booming through halls

The gusts of wind ripped the shutters off the wall

Like the window to soul being exposed

Raw and unprotectected

There is no shelter here

The rain soaks through sills

Dripping down doors

Turning wallpaper into paper-mache

It seeks out the fire, like it's a foe, alive with revenge

Determined to extinguish it

And that's when the lightning,

Oh the lightning hits.

It's forks wrap round, it's vine-like currents seeking the nearest source.

It scars the tree trunks

It scorches the earth

And still we say beautiful

More.

Even when fire begins

Because it burns just as bright

And dances with danger

As it flickers we play

We hold it's warmth with two fingers

Till the room burns around us.

And the heat prickles at our skin.

And we run

Through the fire

Through the lightning

Through the rain

Through the wind

Through the thunder.

We run.

We run.

We run for our lives
