Uplift with or without implants - HELP NSFW

Photo 1: before and immediately after first breast lift in 2022

Rest of photos: current situation

Story:

- I’m 33F and I am a bariatric patient (gastric sleeve 7 years ago). I’ve lost 16 stones and now maintaining my final weight.

- I had my first lift in 2022 as I thought I had finished losing weight

- I then went on to lose another 5 stone and that has left me with the breasts I have now

- as you can see my skin is extremely damaged and I desperately need a lift. I can’t decide between a lift alone and lift with implants. My concerns with implants is that my skin/body won’t hold the weight due to the damage and my hypermobility and they’ll sag/bottom out/whatever else and look awful very quickly

- I have been warned that my scars will touch in the middle and this will create a degree of symmastia (uni boob) that is unavoidable due to the degree of sagging and the width of my breasts

- my surgeons plan: lift, 300CC max, under muscle, silicone, permanent stitching of breast tissue to the ribs & no mesh. He’s an expert in breast reconstruction and I trust him explicitly.

- I’m scared of any surgery due to previous complications but the way my breasts look is effecting my mental health. I don’t have any butt at all it’s all flat and sagged and my 🐱 isn’t much better. Without some kind of breast I don’t feel like a woman and it’s effecting my relationships, sex life, everything basically.

- it is so hard to find anyone like me when looking at implant before & afters, I only ever find ‘normal’ women

- I’m not rich and don’t come from money. I will be having surgery in the UK and refuse to go abroad, please don’t recommend turkey or anywhere else.

- do I just go for it and get the implants and then deal with anything that happens in the future. Or do I just a get lift and if needed implants later? If I get a lift and implants later the cost will be a lot more as it’s 2 surgeries instead of 1.

- I’m happy with my choice of surgeon and don’t want recs for other surgeons.

What would be best for someone like me?

- option 1) lift only (~£9.5k)

- option 2) lift and implants (~£13k)

** I’m not breaking the rules. I’m not asking for you to decide the surgery for me. I’m asking opinions on whether implants or not would be best for someone with severe skin laxity like me **

(Please no comments about my poor FDL. I developed a large haemtoma and was hospitalised for a week. It was done by a different surgeon but will be fixed by my breast surgeon at the same time as my breasts).

Nevus on 2 year old

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Hi guys, we’ve been to a few doctors for my toddler’s (2 yo) nevus that is by her eye/browbone area and 2/3 of 3 doctors have recommended serial incision (which may not remove the entire nevus), meanwhile one doctor has recommended a one time surgery by taking a graft behind the ear to cover up the entire nevus. The Dr recommending the graft seems to be the guy that’s done most of these nevus removals. But he could just be better at advertising.

We are just torn between the 2 methods bc the majority has said incision.

With this post I’m looking forward to advice from Doctors here on what you recommend and why.

Also what would recovery look like? Is the scar from serial incision or graft always going to be visible?

Curious to also hear from people that had the removal done. And if you’ve had any social or emotional impact on your self esteem.

Please also feel free to share any doctors you may know that specialize in this type of nevus removal. Thank you.

How long have your lifts lasted before skin laxity took hold again (breast, arm, tummy, butt, thigh)

Hi all. I am in the beginning stages of planning out my skin removal procedures. I have been all excited, ready to go but then started coming across some posts about how quicky sagging started after surgery. I know this can happen with weight fluctuations but the posters denied that was the cause. I thought these surgeries generally maintained the look for 15-20 years but I'm reading 5-10 years for my age. Now I'm second guessing my decision to spend the amount it will cost for just a few years worth of tone/tightness before looking the same way I do now. For reference, 55F, and I know the older you are, the faster the laxity happens. I lost 100+ lbs and will have been stable in the 'normal weight' range for almost a year by the time the first surgery happens. I have about 3 inches worth of sagging on my arms, 3 on belly (bending over), 4-5 on my thighs. Breasts are completely deflated and fully sagging. I planned a full lift and implants.

Any insight/experienced you can offer would be great to help me make a more informed decision

What type pf surgery could I get to improve double chin!

27y/o, I’ve always had fat and fullness under my chin my entire life and it’s been a toll on my self esteem and aesthetic. I can’t grow a beard due to my job, so I was wondering what (if ant) procedures would help this and be as cost effective as reasonably possible?

In my mid 30’s multiple kids, my face feels like it’s falling. I’m hesitant to try cheek filler because I’ve heard a lot of contrasting opinions but could be convinced😂 sculptra is also a thought. What do you guys think?

I feel like a duck! Day 6 after lip filler 🥲😂

Hi! I got lip filler 6 days ago (0.8 ml in my upper lip and 0.2 ml in my lower lip). I know I need to wait at least 15 days to see the final results, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I’m worried that my upper lip might stay looking like a “duck lip” and that it’s not just swelling, but rather that the filler was poorly placed or that too much filler was used for my lips.
Has anyone else gone through this stage? Did your lips eventually settle and look more natural once the swelling went down?
I’ll also include some before photos for reference. Thank you!

Otoplasty results 8 months later.. still unhappy.

Otoplasty results eight months later.. still unhappy.

Around eight months ago i had an otoplasty done, and i didn’t like the results. I made a post here at the time, and i was told it was not that bad or that it was still early to judge the results. Well, its been awhile now and my ears still look the same. I do honestly feel that they were botched and I will never really like their look unless I have a revision done.

The right ear is too tight, and both ears have this weird telephonish shape, especially the right one. My lobes pop out which only increases the weird look. Last picture is how my ears were before. From the side they look ok as can be seen on the picture.

What frustrates me is that i thought this was a good doctor. He had reviews online all of which were 5 starts and everyone saying how they had their self esteem back because of him, though they had different procedures done, not an otoplasty.

Endoscopic brow lift cost?

I was quoted $14,000 for an endoscopic brow lift (that’s before anesthesia and facility fees)…. Is this normal? It kind of shocked me a little. I was expecting in the ball park of 5-10k. I really do want a brow lift but not sure I can justify that kind of money for something that may not last 🫠.

Gummy smile Botox gone wrong

Post image
3 Upvotes

3.5 weeks ago got my alarplasty revised and she injected 3 units of Botox below my nostril and slightly to the side. (Never had a gummy smile she just didn't want a lot of movement in the area). Lip frozen and sitting lower. literally feels like dead weight (even at rest it seems I lost the tone in that area) .... main problem is it is pulling and adding tension to my (central bullhorn) lip lift scar which is not even a year old.... like wtf! When I smile my lip looks lower, flat, and strange like a big roll lol. Base of nose seems lower (that muscle must do something to that area too). I hope it doesn't permanently damage and stretch my lip lift scar .... any experiences with gummy smile botox? Time line? (She did 18 units of dysport she says that's the equivalent to 6 units- 3 per side). I am going to try the saline injections in the area to see if that helps speed the process up. Anyone have luck with that? Thank you

What procedures could help correct my facial imbalance?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I know facial asymmetry is completely normal, but I've struggled with mine a lot over the last few years, and I want to see options for addressing the things I'm self-conscious about.

So my whole right side is pretty much lower than my left. My right eye and eyebrow are lower, and the right side of my nose is slightly lower too, it’s most noticeable when looking at my nostrils. My smile is uneven, with the right side looking more elongated and flat? My chin and cheeks are where the asymmetry is most noticeable :(

I'm not sure what would be the best, whether that's Botox, fillers, surgery, or something else, and I'm not even sure what to get done where. Also, I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I had braces in the past to correct a crossbite and gap. But my crossbite is still there.

Do cosmetic surgeons understand makeup?

Hello all, I'm completely new to anything cosmetic. I have hooded Hispanic eyes and as I've aged (early 40s) I have lost all upper lid space. I also constantly look like I'm scowling at people because of this and have noticed a negative shift in stranger's attitudes towards me when first meeting. I've been considering an upper blepharoplasty to correct this. A very important goal for me would be to increase lid space and have the crease terminate BEFORE the outer edge of the eye so I can wear heavy winged eyeliner without a fold ruining the look. Is this something a cosmetic surgeon would understand? Is this a reasonable outcome to want (it probably depends on my current eye shape)? Thank you for advice as I start this journey.

Breast uplift with implants

I wouldn't normally write anything to reddit, but I used it when looking for experiences people had of breast surgery and it really helped me so here I am trying to do the same.

I've hated my boobs for as long as i can remember and could never understand how girls were able to wear those nice deep v tops or sweetheart necklines and look amazing while they seemed to just pull mine further down.

I got both my nipples pierced in an attempt to hate them less, and it did work for a while, but the thought of surgery always sat in the back of my mind.

I wasnt exactly tiny or massive, but after weight loss they were pretty much like a tennis ball in a sock. All the weight was at the bottom and i had zero fullness up top. Ive never wanted huge boobs and i know they come in all shapes and sizes but i just wanted a natural look with all round fullness and not bottom heavy that felt like they were dragging me to hell.

A few months ago, my partner had made some comments about getting engaged, marriage etc and honestly the thought of how the dress would sit was the final straw to me booking the consultation. So if youve made it this far, heres how it all went.

Consultation at la belle forme in glasgow with dr Lohana-super informative, listened to my concerns and gave me some implants to 'try' to get an idea how they would sit. We went with 255cc. He also gave me all the potential risks as they are required to do. Ive had blood clots before so that was my biggest concern and although they are a risk (like from any surgery) he wasnt worried about it and suggested i wear the compression stockings a little longer. I then spoke to the patient care coordinator to organise pay-i went for finance- and also dates for all my appointments. Surgery was booked for 12th october 2026.

Now i am TERRIBLE for saying im going to do something and then not, so i wasnt surprised when i kept thinking i shouldnt do it. Probably the finance contract was the reason i didnt cancel 😂 so a week before the surgery i went to my pre op check where the nurse took my vitals, measured me for my post op bra and answered any questions i had. A few days later i was given my time to attend the clinic for surgery.

Noone is more suprised than me with how calm i was the day of surgery. I went into work in the morning and then my partner dropped me off around 1415. I was taken into my own room with a recliner chair and a nurse went through some questions with me and how it was all going to work. Next the anaesthetist came in to sign my consent form for the general anaesthetic and tell me his plans for the surgery and waking me up. Finally, dr lohana arrived to double check what size i was looking for and scribble over my boobs-i assume where he was gonna be cutting and what not.

I walked into the operating theatre and was introduced to everyone i hadnt already met. Got a canula in my hand for the drugs and basically lay there laughing at their banter till i fell asleep...

I dont know about you, but general anaesthetic always makes me weird 😂 think, drunk girl at a party. I kept doing a sign with my hands that i can only describe as what surfers do in cartoons when the say kalabunga! My partner said he could hear the staff laughing at me down the corridor 🙈 so yeah, immediately waking up zero discomfort. When i finally started to get back to normal i still had no pain thanks to yhe drugs during surgery but my boobs looked HUMONGOUS.

I was given toast and tea and some orange juice. The nurse came in with a bag of drugs for me to take home and gave me information for the next week before is be seen again. Pretty much as soon as i felt okay i was allowed to leave-walked out no wheelchairs necessary!

Day1 post op!

I was TERRIFIED of the pain following this surgery. Its what i googled the most and asked the nurses about the most. Obviously, it hurts. Its a major surgery so of course it does. I had dual plane so some of the implant is also under muscle which apparently can hurt more.

Id describe the pain a very tight and achy. Like your periods are due and youve got day 2 doms from the heaviest chest sessions of your life at the gym. My nipples also BURNED.

Honestly though, the worst pain i had was my back from trying to sleep upright and how tight the recovery bra is 😂 i took my medication like i was told and spent pretty much the entire day in bed nodding off and on. Getting up to pee was sore, like the gravity of going from seated to standing made my chest ACHE. Again though, nowhere near as bad as id been thinking.

Day2 post op!

I read on line to expect days 2 and 3 to be the same as day 1, but honestly i already felt better. Every so often my boobs would feel like theyd get REALLY swollen and tight, but i had my medication and also sat with ice packs on intermittently-i had read someone saying they done this on reddit and omg what a godsend i get SO much relief from the ice. I slept so much this day, could be the codeine or just my bodys natural way of healing but it was a lot. My partner was back at work today so i did get out of bed to go downstairs and let my dog out/make lunch etc. Sitting to standing was still sore but less than day 1.

Day3 post op!

So this is actually today. And tbh i feel pretty damn good!

Still sore, mostly a tightness feeling and the seating to standing pain but otherwise better. Not sure if its the dressings or the wounds themselves but they are ITCHY although tbh, im itchy where the band of the bra is sitting too so it could juat be irritation. The swelling has died down a little and tbh im just super excited to get to see them on monday when my dressings get changed! Ive been up, washed my face etc and went downstairs to say goodbye to my partner before he headed to work 7am and its already the most ive done since surgery so were taking that as a win.

Apparently days 1-3 are the worst and then things start to get more comfortable. As i said this was the bit i was most scared of and while i still have to wear this bra for 6 weeks and have a lot of healing to do i am so glad i never let the fear put me off.

I have a 1 week post op appointment on monday to get my dressings changed

2 week post op appointment the following week and

A post op surgical review with the consultant on 8th december.

I have a phone number i can call 24/7 if i have any worries or questions and someone from the clinic also phoned me the day after surgery to see how i was doing.

Medication wise i was given tramadol, codeine, paracetemol and ibuprofen. I dont particularly like strong drugs and there is a chance tramadol would react with the medication i take for anxiety so i havent used that at all. I take the codeine and paracetamol together and a couple of hours later ill have ibuprofen. Ive only been taking them during the day i dont wake up to take them in the middle of the night.

As my pain hasnt been too bad im thinking of stopping codeine after today-makes me sleepy- and just sticking to paracetemol and ibuprofen.

Its early days but so far ive been so pleased with the process and cannot wait to get this uglyAF post surgery bra off 😂

Out-of-country rhinoplasty?

Has anyone gotten a rhinoplasty that was out of the United States — how was it?

I know some places it costs a lot less, like Mexico, which is cool. I’m not sure about other continental places though, as I’ve heard it’s not good to go on airplanes afterwards.

What is the language barrier like. Is it easy to communicate throughout the progress, like understanding what you want done?

Is it safe?

Breast lift in Türkiye/ Turkey?

Hi everyone, did anyone do their breast lift preferably without implants in Türkiye that they would recommend. I’m currently 32DD and my breast have always been tubular and my nipple placement very low from puberty. After giving birth, it’s sort of worsened and it’s extremely sagging. I wanted a lifted perkier look, I don’t mind sacrificing the size. Going from 32DD to 32C is fine.

So far the doctors I was considering was Dr Sürmeli and doctor Erman AK. My hesitation with Dr sürmeli was that we didn’t have a in person consultation yet but from the video I send his assistant said that he noticed moderate breast symmetry (which is so untrue) and strongly encouraged to get a breast implant along with breast lift for the best look. To be fair they did say that a in person consultation is a must for a better evaluation.

To be quite honest, I don’t want implants it sounds extremely scary. I don’t think I want to live with a foreign thing inside my body for the rest of my life. Under the muscle, over the muscle, it’s all scary to me and the complications people experience is just not worth for me. So if anyone knows a doctor who’s very experienced with breast lifts without implants that would be perfect!

Thank you!

I need help, please.

I turned 18 yesterday. I come from a toxic family addicted to drugs, and I started very young. The first time I used cocaine I was 14. I was diagnosed with ADHD and took Ritalin.

I became addicted to snorting Ritalin; in school I would snort about 80mg a day. Sometimes it would go over 100mg. I discovered ayahuasca and magic mushrooms, and it changed my life. My treatment-resistant depression disappeared overnight.

I quit smoking cigarettes, drinking, and snorting cocaine about a year ago. But I think I got a free nasal valve collapse. When I breathe heavily, one side of my nose (the one I used more drugs on) closes up. The septum on that side is absurdly separated, as if it were curved, and only the other nostril is normal.

I'm freaking out, I need to see an ENT doctor. What's your opinion? Please.

What’s the difference between fat transfers and silicone implants for the breast?

Hi, considering having something done to my boobs, just don’t know what route to go, can someone explain to me which is better, and why people get implants instead of their own fat for the breast?

Which has better recovery, better results, and is overall more safe. What is the cost difference too? Can also someone tell me why they prefer one over the other as well?

15 Months Post-Augmentation: Implant Displacement, Possible Capsular Contracture — Looking for Advice

I’m 1 year and 3 months post-op, and my left breast has become noticeably tight, painful, and distorted. I’m hoping to get some advice from anyone who’s experienced something similar, particularly regarding nonsurgical treatment options.

I recently saw my plastic surgeon, but I was overwhelmed during the appointment and didn’t fully understand everything he explained.

He diagnosed me with grade II/III capsular contracture, although I believe he said he didn’t feel significant tightening of the capsule because my implant was still relatively mobile. He also described an issue with the implant pocket and scar tissue that seems to be causing the displacement. From what I understood, scar tissue along the lower portion of the implant pocket is tightening and pushing the implant upward and toward my cleavage. The implant now sits noticeably higher than the other, creating visible asymmetry. I’m fairly slim, so the distortion is particularly noticeable.

For context, my breasts were naturally somewhat asymmetrical before surgery, but my implants looked almost perfectly symmetrical for approximately the first year. The left breast gradually began changing position, followed by a more noticeable shift. It now looks similar to how it did during the first few months after surgery, before the implants settled.

I’ve also experienced deep pulling and tightness on that side since the original surgery, even when the breasts looked symmetrical.
My surgeon mentioned a few options:
Massaging the implant to potentially help with the pain -but it wouldn’t help the scarring
Revision surgery to release or remove the restrictive scar tissue and correct the implant pocket. Maybe take out the capsule? I’m not sure.
Replacing the implant and potentially using surgical mesh for additional support.
Increasing my implant size because he believes releasing the scar tissue would leave the pocket too large for my current implant.
My biggest concern is that I really don’t want another surgery. I’m worried about creating additional complications, developing recurrent scar tissue, or ending up with worse asymmetry. I’m also hesitant to go larger when I was happy with my original size.
I’m not entirely sure whether the proposed revision would be considered capsular contracture surgery, implant pocket reconstruction, or a combination of both. I plan to clarify that with my surgeon.
I’d really appreciate advice or experiences from anyone who’s dealt with something similar:
Has anyone experienced implant displacement caused by localized scar tissue or capsular tightening, even when the implant was still mobile?
Has anyone successfully improved this type of tightness or distortion without surgery?
If you underwent revision surgery, what was involved? Did you need mesh or larger implants?
Did the problem recur after revision, or were you happy with your results?

Did they offer imaging when you discussed the complication?
I’m especially interested in whether any nonsurgical approaches have actually helped. I understand that established scar tissue may not respond to massage or other conservative treatments, but I’d like to explore my options before committing to another operation.
I’d also appreciate input from plastic surgeons or anyone with experience in breast implant revision surgery. I’m willing to pay for a professional consultation or second opinion to better understand my options.

And for context- it’s gotten noticeably tighter since I saw him a week ago. And I already have a follow up booked with him but it’s not until next week.

Implants: Natrelle INSPIRA cohesive silicone, placed above the muscle.
Thank you!

Motiva implants and BII

• Upvotes

I want to get implants for such a long time now, and the only thing that’s holding me back is the fear of my body rejecting the implants and developing BII. I always react really sensitive, even to piercings etc so I’m afraid my body will not handle them. I‘m so unhappy and frustrated with my breasts tho that I can’t decide what to do.

Have some of y‘all developed BII? Is it real ?

Are you happy with your implants ? How do breasts look after explant ?

And do motiva implants lower the risk of developing bii? What was your experience?

My surgeon suggested small motiva implants OTM for me.

Thanks for answers

I am planning on getting smartlipo on my flanks and abdomen region. Do you think I will see a good result if I pick a good surgeon? Or should I avoid surgery? I workout and eat relatively healthy but do eat bad a couple days a week. Fat genetically always goes to my stomach and love handles. Wanted to get your opinions
