PvZ3 PvZ3 State of the Lawn - Title Update 2.0 (TU2.0)

Greetings, Lawn Defenders!

Title Update 2.0 is officially live on the lawn, bringing a massive array of core gameplay overhauls, visual redesigns, and brand-new competitive events to Neighborville. This update is all about deepening your tactical options, giving you more active control over battle pacing, and celebrating your strategic triumphs.

Let's take a look at everything changing in your neighborhood.

What’s New in Title Update 2.0 🌱

Dynamic Battle Conditions

The lawn itself is now an active participant in your tactical planning. We are introducing elemental Conditions to add a deep layer of counter-play to both plants and zombies. Zombies can walk onto the lawn with an active Condition, or they can obtain one mid-battle by traversing environmental tiles on the board.

  • 💧 Soaked: Zombies become Soaked when they step into water. These units take extra damage from electric plants like Zaptail or Lightning Reed.
  • 🧀 Cheesed: Shambling through molten cheese covers zombies in bubbling cheese-globules, leaving them weak against cold damage from your ice plants.
  • 🟢 Slimed: Walking through slime coats zombies in a green residue, leaving them highly vulnerable to corrosive acid damage.

Units can only have one active Condition at a time. If a Soaked zombie walks through slime, its status will be replaced. This system requires you to adapt your strategy on the fly as the board state shifts.

A More Responsive Wave System

Dr. Zomboss is also getting more organized, introducing custom Wave Formations. Instead of semi-random spawning, you will face pre-determined attack shapes like V-formations or flank attacks. This system allows us to set up adventure levels much more intentionally as puzzles, and we have re-tuned Adventure Levels 1 through 50 to use this new logic.

Log Booster

Combat Readability

We are adding a few visual options to make combat easier to follow.

  • Damage Numbers: New players will have this turned on by default, and if you’re a veteran lawn defender, you can turn these on in the Pause Menu to see exactly how much damage your plants are doing.
  • Battle Readability: Clearer healing values, resistance indicators, and active status icons help make complex battles easier to understand.
  • Visual Feedback: Now when damage is dealt, you will be able to clearly see Crit and Dud hits thanks to clearer animations.

Two All-New Events 🗓️

Cards of Chaos 🃏

In the Cards of Chaos event, you will use a pre-selected roster of plants to take on wave after wave of zombies. After every wave, you will choose from cards that grant powerful perks, introduce dangerous hazards, or unleash chaotic effects across the lawn. Crazy Dave and Zomboss tried to settle on the rules of engagement for this, but seem to have lost the original and didn’t make any copies. This means that each run will be a bit different from one another. Completing goals in this event rewards you with the exclusive Controlled Chaos sticker set.

Disco Dance Marathon 🪩

Help Crazy Dave out-dance the infamous Disco Zombie in a series of rhythm-fueled lawn battles. Keep your footing, build a consecutive winning streak, and claim rewards on the event leaderboard. Pushing your streak further across these disco-themed battles will earn you better prizes.

Redesigned Menus and Systems

  • The Almanac

The Almanac has been restructured to help you plan your collection and merge pathways much more easily.

  • Redesigned Cards

Larger cards contain clearer damage types, keywords, and gameplay definitions.

  • Plant Family Tree

View every plant in the game and map out your ultimate merge combinations before planting. You can see exactly what merges your plants came from and where their family line leads. You can access the Family Tree from your Almanac or the pre-battle screen under the “Merges” tab.

  • Dedicated Sticker Book

Stickers are now in their own space outside of the Almanac to make navigation cleaner.

Pre-Battle and Post-Battle Screens

We have refreshed the screens before and after combat to help you make better tactical decisions.

  • Pre-Battle Screen

See which zombies and hazards are in each battle, view recommended plant setups, reference the Conditions infographic, and use the mini-map to look ahead at challenges, rewards, and star gates before you start battle.

  • Post-Battle Win Screen

Celebrate your victory, check your star score, view earned rewards, or restart the level directly from the Win Screen.

Zen Garden

  • Direct Access: Open the Almanac directly from plant detail panels in your Zen Garden.
  • Skip Odd Jobs: Skip the Odd Jobs mini-games while securing reduced planting resources. Mo’ took their cut for helping you out.
  • Layout Updates: Cleaned up grids and resolved visual timer bugs.

Dave's Test Kitchen

With TU2.0 we’re testing two new things that will help us understand the best way to implement these new additions to the game:

Ad-Free Option Test

We want to give players more choices in how they experience the game. In Germany, we are running a small, localized test to see how players feel about an option to bypass video ads entirely while still claiming their regular daily placement rewards. We are testing different versions of this to understand what works best before we make any decisions about bringing it to other countries.

Cards of Chaos Unlock Test

We are also experimenting with the best time to introduce new events so that new players do not feel overwhelmed. For this test, some players will see the new Cards of Chaos event become available after completing Adventure Level 5, while others will unlock it after completing Adventure Level 15. This will help us find the perfect balance so that everyone can enjoy these challenges at the right pace.

Changes & Fixes ⚒️

Our neighborhood maintenance crew has completed a thorough sweep of the lawn. Here are the active fixes in this update.

Gameplay 🎮

  • Fix: Ice plants now correctly apply Chill and Freeze based on target conditions.
  • Fix: Parasol Zombie’s umbrella has been patched up so it can now protect nearby units from rain.
  • Fix: Sun-producing plants now behave correctly in light and darkness.
  • Fix: Tangle Kelp is now correctly recommended for battles involving water.

  • Fix: The Plants have promised that Lightning attacks will stop chaining through an entire lane and will only hit intended adjacent targets.
  • Fix: Plants that attack from a distance now correctly target zombies in affected positions.

Art and Animation 🖼️

  • Fix: Pine Needler has been watered and scaled to its proper size when planted.
  • Fix: Tingling-pult water spawn animation has been cleaned up to prevent land roots from showing in the pool.
  • Fix: Water and puddle visuals now correctly match the actual battlefield layout.

UI, UX, and Systems 📱

  • Fix: Magma Zombie recommendations now display correctly.
  • Fix: Zen Garden plant details now open correctly when tapping a plant in your garden.

  • Fix: Multiple UI, animation, audio, VFX, and localized text issues have been corrected throughout the game.
  • Fix: Various crashes, freezes, softlocks, loading issues, and stability problems across supported Android and iOS devices.

With Title Update 2.0, we are also welcoming our German friends to the neighborhood. If you are from Germany, expect to see PvZ3: Evolved show up on your app stores on Wednesday, October 14th, from 9 AM PT.  And we’re looking forward to welcoming more regions in the future. In the meantime, if you find any bugs on your lawn, our Known Issues list and forums are the best places to let us know. And be sure to keep an eye on our social channels for more updates.

See you on the lawn! 🌱

PvZ2 Guide [Arena] Olive Pit – ZCorp Gone Wild (Redux)

PSA: Given the recent issues with people losing their profiles (often associated with updates), please, get a screen shot of your Player ID. You can find it by tapping the “Settings” (wrench icon) button and then selecting “Build Version” (on Android) or "Download Preferences" (on iOS). Using it the EA help desk can usually restore your profile if you ever lose it.

Note: This is a 3 day tournament, after that will be a 4 day Boosterama tournament – an identical board, but all plants are boosted. Short tournaments have proportionally smaller tournament rewards.

Special streak rewards: #5 Contain-mint family piñata.

Note: Contain-mint “seeds” are also included in the piñata. Contain-mint still needs to be unlocked for 100 mints no matter how many seeds you collect for it.

Note: Cran Jelly, Blast Spinner, Sour Shot and Cactalog are not included in the piñata.

Locked plant: Olive Pit – Wiki.GG, Fandom Wiki

Sun: 1650 at the start. Note: Sun drops will be a very fast. A sun producer may not be necessary.

Plant Food: 2 at the start. Note: Up to 12 plant foods will be available from zombies.

Time: 2:00.

Buffz: Contain-mint (+100%), Appease-mint (+50%)

Starting Lawn:

Dave’s Mold Colonies on C1 R2/4, C2 R1/3/5, C8 R1/3/5 and C9 R2/4

Note: Plant food estimates are based on my experience interpreting the game files and are entirely dependant on how quickly you’re killing the zombie waves.

Possible BOT Layouts:

[Olive Pit, Sour Shot, Rotobaga, Contain-mint, Bowling Bulb, Twin Sunflower],

[Olive Pit, Hurrikale, Blast Spinner, Starfruit, Appease-mint, Solar Sage],

[Olive Pit, Stunion, Pea Pod, Primal Sunflower, Pea-vine, Contain-mint]

Minimum info about your strategy: league, plant levels/mastery and score. Or you can post screenshot with the score. Otherwise it's hard to understand whether your strategy will work for other players with different plant levels/mastery and in different leagues.

kGame is a former YouTuber who has unfortunately retired from doing PvZ2 videos.  Their legacy videos for the previous Bramble Bush tourney are still available though and the strategies in them may work well for this tourney.

(Last one is a 'comic cover' for this but it felt like it's actually hindering attention so I put it at the very end lmao)

Just as great power comes with great responsibility, they have a lot of authority but must take responsibility for all kinds of chaotic things!

from now on comics containing very important lore in my fan-made PvZ universe that everyone needs to remember or main storyline episodes will have dedicated covers. because I like to larping everything I do as if it's damn huge like MCU

PvZ2 Discussion Might have to uninstall AGAIN

Post image
112 Upvotes

So a few months ago, PvZ 2 got an update that made it so people who never had ads before (because they spend real money on the game) were forced to have ads unless they wanted to pay A SUBSCRIPTION for no ads. A goddamn subscription.
So I uninstalled the game. That was the last straw for me considering I’ve spent quite a bit on the game over its lifetime.
About a month or two ago, someone commented on an old post of mine talking about the new ad system, saying that they fixed it and now you don’t get ads if you’ve paid again. It was true! I haven’t had ads for about a month now after re-downloading it.

Then I opened it today and came across this.. this horrid, disgusting, morbid banner across my screen. I swear to God, if the ads return for people who’ve spent real money, I’m done for good. I’ll stick to Garden Warfare 2

PvZ2 Discussion Wrote some better almanac entries for some modern PVZ2 plants because I’m bored

Thumbnail

Brain Stem: Brain Stem is a scholar and a recluse, oftentimes isolating himself from other plants on the lawn to lose himself in his studies. He has considered opening up every now and then, but the fact that he just so happens to look exactly like the well known favorite food of the zombies isn't exactly encouraging him. "A mind is a terrible thing to waste to outside merriment", grumbles Brain Stem, "Especially with those zombies about."

Devour Bloom: Devour Bloom has been naturally compared to lawn superstar Chomper for their similar appearances and appetites, and a lot of plants have gossiped amongst themselves about what their relation is. Long lost relative? An imposter? A fanboy? Truth be told, the reality is far more simple: Devour Bloom and Chomper are just plants from different parts of the world who simultaneously came to the conclusion that zombies taste delicious. "And what's the huge issue with that?" asks Devour Bloom.

Might write more of these sooner or later, but I like writing almanac entries, and IDK, I like a lot of the modern plant concepts if nothing else.

Art If Every Chess Piece is a Plant in PvZ2

Plants that each of them are based on will be linked in their name.

Blazing Knight - view here

Bishock - Manual plant. Takes 1.5 seconds to charge before dashing diagonally to a selected tile, dealing 1200 damage and stunning survivors. Relocates to the target tile and enters a long cooldown. Zombies that bite it are periodically shocked and stunned. Floats above the ground.

Chessnut Pawn - A cheap, semi-spammable wall plant that slowly marches across the lawn. Costs 25 sun and has a 10-second cooldown, with 2000 health. Can only be planted on the left side of the lawn and advances one tile to the right every 5 seconds, headbutting and knocking back any zombie blocking its path. Upon reaching the right side of the lawn, its shell breaks apart, rewarding the player with 100 sun.

Bambrook - A manually controlled wall plant that blocks both ground and flying zombies. When activated, Bambrook moves to any tile horizontally or vertically, damaging and rooting zombies in his path for 5 seconds. After each move, he loses a section of his bamboo stem, becoming shorter and unable to block flying zombies after his first move. After his second move, he falls asleep and cannot move again until he rests, regrows his missing bamboo, and resets his movement cycle.

Queen of Nightfall - A manual Shadow plant with 4000 health that can move horizontally, vertically, or diagonally across the lawn with unlimited range. Queen of Nightfall can only be planted once per level, even if she is destroyed. Zombies caught along her path are cursed to share damage for a short time, distributing any damage they receive equally among all cursed zombies. After moving, she must rest before moving again, with each tile traveled adding 2 seconds to her recovery time. When Shadow Powered, she deals additional damage and gradually regenerates 100 health every few seconds.

King of Daybreak - A 500-sun plant with no armor that can only be planted once per level. King of Daybreak can move one tile horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, turning any zombie he moves onto into gold before entering a cooldown. He can also use Royal Command to reset another plant's ability cooldown for 150 sun, including plants like Coconut Cannon, Banana Launcher, and other Royal Chess Family members. Additionally, he periodically produces 100 sun.

Toxic Jesterine - Unlike other Royal Chess Family plants, Toxic Jesterine has only 1000 health and cannot be moved manually. Whenever another chess plant moves (except Chessnut Pawn), he copies its movement, traveling the same number of tiles in the same directions. Upon landing, he poisons zombies in a 3×3 area for 30 seconds. After moving, he enters a 20-second cooldown before copying another move.
