Thoughts on when to upgrade?

Hello, it's my first post on this subreddit, my question is: when should I upgrade redmi note 9 pro 128/6?

For me I think there is nothing that makes me need to upgrade, I have a custom rom with android 15 so updates are not a problem, I don't play really demanding games, and my area doesn't have 5g coverage.

The phone itself works fine, I've had it since january 2021, and the only benefits I see in upgrading is 120hz (which I would really like) , and a better battery life (this one is not too bad but still not new).

As for what I would look for in a new phone, I would like for the bootloader to be unlockable, 120hz, 512gb , and a good feature would be , but is not necessary, a curved display

What are your thoughts?

You budget. You ask how much you'd be willing to pay for what you're looking for, maybe add a little for the upgrade lasting a little longer and not needing to pay for another for awhile, and you probably don't need the old phone so maybe you sell it or trade it in. Say that all adds up to like, 400$ a number I have completely pulled out of my ass. Well is there an option for that price? Well sticking to redmi note pro series for simplicity even the 14 has it and you can get it for less than 300$, if you're budgeting looks similar I'd recommend an upgrade, and get as new as you can in your budget so it lasts longer.

For me my phone is the nice thing I get myself so my budget is pretty high, I want the nicest phone I can get and the newest, so I hunt for promotions to make it affordable, and every year get me a nice Samsung ultra series, and I pay around 200$ for it, so I upgrade every year and find it totally worth it (unfortunately these promotions aren't universally applicable)
