I found this factory sealed PS2 for $350(yes it’s still brand new), and I am really excited to use it, knowing it’s nice and crisp. However, I’m starting to wonder if I should just hang onto it and get a used one?

Near mint 39001s were swapped in, full service and restoration.

RCA CRT was also a recent restoration.

and just to add, i do have the original shields, but these 39001s had the later much beefier heatsink

Just better for the consoles health to use those instead.

Stumbled upon this locally and I have been looking for more ps2 RPGs for my collection, Star Ocean I have heard of but know little of, I could tell everything was in the box because of heft so it was hard to pass on for 15 with tax

Anyone else play this one? Please share your thoughts

Super excited to play these two. Been on the hunt for teen titans for about a year now and managed to get it with the manual. This week is looking amazing

Went to browse the 4 for $20 deals and bailed on that plan when I saw this.

Can't believe its reached this price, but honestly was the cheapest price I found it for, so I bought it. Only found out till I got home it came with the poster

Game cube has one I know they had to get rid of the moving disc tray for space but at lest give us a popper so we can keep finger prints and scratches off our discs

Hello, I’ve built a pretty massive ps2 library on my pc, but I noticed I don’t have any sports games (not counting skate, dirtbike, surf, etc). I’m a huge hockey fan (Sharks if anyone cares), but never played any of the games on ps2. Wondering what your favorite hockey games on the ps2 are

It dose not look that bad but i don’t want my games to get scratched I heard I could just tape it down but is that really ok for the ps2? What should I do leave it or fix it thanks!

At long last we have a round that’s unlikely to annoy people, as thanks to allowing voters to vote off multiple games at once, we’ve ended up losing a bunch of sports games that I’ve never played. Here’s today’s strawpoll https://strawpoll.com/kogjRoM1Kg6 remember that you can vote for as many games as you want, and you can vote via the comment section here too

pretty much the title, have been looking for this game and was so excited to find it for a good price, turns out the price was because it was scratched and untested. I don't have a ps2 with me to test it, so thought I'd turn to the experts and see what the consensus was on its possible playability. thanks for input! sorry if the video isn't very clear, most of the scratches look shallow and straight but there's a fair few of them 😔

Recently (re)acquired a ps2, mostly to play culdcept, that's going swell.

i am looking to acquire burnout 3 to play the crash mode, as i remember really enjoying that and katamari as i also remember having a lot of fun with that game as well.

Do you have any games that you would recommend that are what i guess i would call lower commitment and more so just fun to pick up and play on the ps2? I don't really have the patience (anymore) for a story per se

So I've been thinking of buying a PS2 for awhile now and finally pulled the trigger. I'm currently on a Dreamcast journey to complete the full NA set, but also wanted to enjoy some PS2 games I miss. Not a fan of emulation and love the discs, booting up the systems and the controllers, which is why I torture my wallet.

But I do have a couple questions regarding the PS2, since I havent owned once since the PS3 had come out, and I also don't follow much of retro communities.

-Are there any mods for the PS2 that would be fun to add or tinker with? I know theres the free mcboot thing, but not referring to that. On the PS2 journey I'm really just going to buy the ones I miss playing or may not have had the chance to back in the day. I'm talking more like a wifi adapter, maybe some kind of LEDs to bling the system out, or maybe even just a fan swap or anything that may improve cooling or performance of the system in some way?

-Any must have accessories? Or is there a hands down top controller people recommend for the PS2? Or is it really just the good ol dualshock that reigns?

-Must play games? The system I purchased came with GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. Also bought NFS Underground 2, Xenosaga, and Tony Hawk Underground 2. (plan on getting THUG1 and NFSU 1 eventually) Also plan on getting the other xenosagas.. when my wallet allows it lol

-Any preference between the fat and slim model? Do either tend to have a higher fail rate or anything? I had gone with the fat model for the sake of getting a PS3 eventually and just stacking it to conserve space. Something I can't do with the slim model with top disc load.

Can someone tell me how much storage do you get on a 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64 and 125MB Memory Card PS2? I am talking about the useable space on the card.

Not into collectathons, and I love games like Sly 1 in the sense that they don't force you go get the collectables to finish the game.

For example:

Sly 1: linear 3D platformer with collectables along the way. Not just looking for stealth.

What I'm not looking for:

Sly 2-4: Non linear mission-based game with many collect-a-thon elements. Not what I'm looking for.

im pretty sure they gonna love the lego games, ive also found ratchet gladiator that looks fun, what other split screen coop would kids around that age like for the ps2?
