Finally went to the NBS Warehouse Sale sa GH. Super nakaka-overwhelm lang dahil sa dami ng books, you really have to look around for good titles that interests you. Also saw lots of Collins classics and books of the same genre + mga mystery/romance (take note lang na most of the titles are not popular but there are still a lot of good ones)

All these for 300, What's ur haul? <3

To treat myself after the oathtaking, pumunta kaagad ako sa Fully Booked 🤣 to buy random books. But I was immediately drawn towards these two. Yung master & margarita, i know the synopsis but not the whole story, while yung the hollow ones, I really have no idea.

Community / Casual Discussion Finding time to move and to read.

I'm in my mid-40s, and luckily di pa ako diabetic. Lol. I heard a health tip that you can avoid blood glucose spikes daw if you move, even for just 10 minutes, after every meal. (Ang reason being, muscle will take in the excess glucose sa blood stream and store them sa muscle, preferable movements are those that engage and contract the leg muscle kasi malaking muscle group sila.)

So, since March or April of this year, I've been taking the stairs up and down after my lunch.

Later on, I paired it with reading. Or rather stacked it pala. I usually read for a good 10 to 20 minutes right after using the staircase. Tapos tahimik pa sa fire exit unlike sa loob ng office. Sometimes mainit/humid, most of the time oks naman, sanayan. Na-enjoy ko pa rin magbasa.

Community / Casual Discussion Appreciation post: Different book sizes.

I don't mean to sound snobbish but I really am appreciative of the sizes of books by some publishers. To me, they feel easier to grip, esp one handed. Unlike others (mostly Western and UK publishers) that are too wide and big.

Understandably it could just boil down to most books from the US/UK are chonky reads with 800-1000 pages while Asian books are 200-500 pages.

But still though. Esp for the bookshop cat book. The size just fits my hand right. ☺️ Which helps when I get cramps and/or feel nerve pain.

Do you have a fave book that you bought a physical copy just for the size/looks?

What are your thoughts on this? The characters in the book set the bar too high, no actual human could ever live up to that.

With Esther and Emilio, I see the vision though. The casting directors who are experts on this chose them for a reason. Just a reminder to be kind on your comments.

Community / Casual Discussion I hate how I prejudge books from Wattpad authors before reading them huhu

I can't even tell you how many wattpad stories I've read during highschool and a bit in college back when it was still at the height without needing to pay to access anything.

Because of NBS's book sale today, I went to a branch and I saw one displayed from a wattpad author. I took a chance and purchased it since, in my whole collection of some 70 books, I have never owned a local one. I've always purchased international books since I go off of suggestions from Jack Edwards and The Book Leo.

Honestly? I hate to admit it, but I purchased the book because it was around about the same pricing as international books and I based the quality off of that HUHU.

I am now scared to read it fearing it might be cringe. Please don't bash or hate on me this is literally new territory for me huhu. And it's been a while since I've read anything with Filipino as the main language (not from Luzon).

Do you guys carry the same prejudice or is it just me? Huhuhu
