Free Clothing Exchange

Hi all!

I'm working with Wild Child PEI and the City of Charlottetown to run another Community Clothing Swap. During the last one (Spring 2026) we had so many people mention wishing that it was held twice a year - Now we're getting to do a test drive of that with the City's support.

We will be accepting early drop-offs at the Bell Aliant Centre, 560 University Avenue, and Voluntary Resource Centre, 81 Prince Street, from October 17 to 23 during regular business hours.

Sharing the information here, in case any of you are interested in:

- Attending as a swapper

- Volunteering to help on the day of

- Rehoming clothing you planned to donate, even if you can't attend on the day

The event is going to be at the Simmons Arena Multi Purpose Room. It's an accessible space with lots of parking.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm.

One thing worth knowing about this swap is that we don't do it as a trading "one for one" style of swap. Our goal is to keep things from landfills and to let our community and neighbours have things we're done with, free of charge. Some people may not have anything to bring and that's alright. Others may donate lots but not want to take anything home!

Vehicle storage

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a covered parking spot, garage or a secure vehicle storage space in PEI for 3 weeks in January.

If anyone has a garage or storage space available for short-term rent, or knows someone who offers vehicle storage, please let me know. I’d really appreciate any leads. Thanks in advance!

Decision needed on time change

Just over 2 weeks ago Lantz asked for input on time change. We’re now only a few weeks away and if it’s going to happen this year, one would have to expect an announcement this week?

Question Does anyone else's car Bluetooth disconnect around upei

As the title asks, in my grandfathers 2018 ram 1500 anytime we drove near upei on the avenue his iPhone/the truck would disconnect around the intersection infront of upei then reconnect.

And now in my mother's 24 rav 4 android every time I drive down belvedere or university ave android auto and the car's Bluetooth will disconnect and reconnect.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Does anyone know what causes this

Best Undercoating Shops

I just bought a brand new car and want to ensure I keep it in good condition. Does anyone know of the best undercoating shop for the winter salt that is between Montague-Charlottetown. Preferably a shop, rather than a fiend or a guy someone knows. Any advice would help.

Litter

Litter

Am I getting old, grumpy, and miserable or is there an extraordinary amount of litter around Charlottetown? I notice it mostly downtown, as well as around multi unit buildings (commercial and residential), scattered around their fence lines. Sad really, I know cities will always have litter but it seems a city of 80,000 (??? Think this is population of greater Charlottetown now) could do better.

Maybe I am getting old and complaining too much tho lol.

Summer vacation

Hello there,

I'm trying to organize a family get together in PEI this summer.

I was wondering if there was somewhere I could rent multiple cottages close together or possibly a rental unit large enough to house 16 people?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

It’s obviously fisheries related, but it affects all four provinces so I’m interested to see what this is.

CBC Mainstreet

Any Mainstreet listeners disappointed with content since Mitch Cormier became host?

No Spintime, no Time Machine, no Acadian Beat, very little music... certainly not the show it was when Matt Rainnie was behind the mic.

Saw this downtown yesterday, anyone know what the context might be? I am very much against foul language on bumper stickers, this one is so dark.
