Hello gentlemen can I get some info on how my first 3 weeks would be at my institution I start Monday they told me to dress casual when will uniforms be issued or when will I be allowed to order?

So I’ve been working at my state facility for over year mainly in the cell block areas and doing trips on overtime and on shift as needed mainly emergency trips two days ago I was told that my name keeps coming up for a position on the shakedown team but I would go from 12 hours to 8 but I would be on a flex schedule and I can still pick up over time it’s Monday through Friday weekends off unless called in for shakedowns. What would you do?

CX-01 process — got the fingerprinting invitation today. How do I know if I passed the psych eval and the security screening? How much longer is the process from here?

I'm in the national CX-01 correctional officer process and I'd like to hear from people who went through it.

My timeline so far:
- Psychological assessment interview with Calian: September 28
- Today (October 15): I received the email saying my application has moved to the reliability and security screening step, with the fingerprinting form to book an appointment

Two questions:

1. Does getting the fingerprinting invitation mean I passed the psychological evaluation? And for the security screening itself — do they actually notify you when it's cleared, or do you only find out when the next step gets scheduled?

2. Roughly how much longer is the process from this point (fingerprinting → security screening → medical → pool → CTP invitation)? Am I still looking at several months? I'm a full-time student, so I'm trying to plan ahead.

I have recently applied for an administrative role at NYS DOCCS. They had asked me for a degree evaluation as my degrees are from a foreign nation. I submitted them the evaluation report and asked the hr if she has received the report and she has replied saying yes they have received it. There are few questions I have in mind.

First, they require 2 years of experience for that role and I have that from a different country. There’s an experience I have from the year 2016 and I don’t have any documentation for that job. It was at an international bank. I still have onboarding and orientation emails from 2016. Will this cause any problem or do they have some ways of contacting the HRs in the company??

Second, I also have a year experience in a language documentation project which was not salaried. What details do they confirm during the reference check??

They have asked for my degree evaluation report does that mean I will get a call for an interview??

husband went to medical july 21st, written psych aug 16th and 1:1 september 7th, he received word that they called his employment for references last thursday (10/09) and his medical clearance came in the mail on Friday (10/10), how far out is he looking for that call for academy and also is it an albany number they call from?

would it be realistic to think he may be called for the upcoming class on november 15th?

So basically I graduate the academy Thursday, I start Sunday. I worked in center control for agency training but haven’t been on the floors dealing with inmates yet. I’m making up scenarios in my head so I know what to expect, but how do you deal with inmates who talk trash do you? Do you ignore them, laugh at them, or talk trash back? How should I go about this when this happens?

I finally received my conditional offer for CTP2/3 for Jan 2027 intake. I will be going to Kingston, Ontario. Couple of questions:

1. What to take/pack for the in-person training at Kingston?

2. How are the trainers out there and how strict are they?

3. On day1- is the test multiple choice and super hard to pass?

4. Which areas people tend to lack or fail?

5. What will make you get through the training smoothly and any tips would be very much appreciated.

Are there food trucks in your parking lots? If so, if you find out that you’re up in a tower (I know that you typically just don’t get sent to a tower out of the blue—but let’s say you’re caught by surprise) and don’t have a lunch what would be the process that you’d get lunch?

Conovor says that he would order from the tower and drop the bucket down to pay for it/have the guy send it up? Is that right? What if the food truck isn‘t close enough? Would your escort drive you to the food truck before dropping you off? These sorts of things seem so facility specific.

Interview there tomorrow and wondering what the interview process is like and what the post-interview is like? When I interviewed at Ramsey I was fingerprinted and submitted my background that day as well.

Hey all I recently received an offer for stage 2 & 3 in grand cache alberta, my home is in the Atlantic and that’s my dream to get a job here on home turf, have any of you turned down an offer and went on to receive the institution you hoped for? Does it look bad to turn down an offer? Grand cache was not on my top 3

I applied to become a corrections officer with the county sheriff’s office. I passed my background check and my polygraph is scheduled in about two weeks, on my application, I answered that I had never used marijuana. However, I remembered that about 3 years ago, I took one hit from a friend’s blunt. That was the only time I’ve ever tried it, and I haven’t touched it since. I’m wondering if I should contact my background investigator before the polygraph to correct my answer or just explain it when they ask me during the polygraph. Will coming clean now automatically disqualify me, especially since I already answered no on the application? I’m more worried about the honesty issue than the actual one time use. I would appreciate some answers (:
