Job Search Discussion Will I be able to get a RN job after my hiatus post grad?

Hello,

I graduated nursing school and became a licensed RN in 2024. Shortly after, I secured a RN job on a med-surg floor. After just 3 weeks, I quit. My reasons for quitting were a mix of dealing with mental health problems that were exacerbated by the job (depression, anxiety, a panic attack which ended up with me being in the ER) as well as the lack of support and training that was being offered to me and some coworkers. I could ramble all the day about the nurses I encountered but that is neither here nor there.

I decided that I was not in the right headspace at that time to be a nurse and quite frankly I hated working in the hospital. After quitting, I found a corporate job and decided to go back to school. I have been able to get a certificate in Clinical Research and just finished a Masters of Education. I am currently still working my corporate job.

At this point in my life, I am ready to become a nurse again. I’m tired of feeling like I wasted 4 years of my life to become a nurse only to quit. I feel like I didn’t give nursing a fair chance. I really want to keep my RN license which means I need to practice. My question is how hard will it be for me to get a part time nursing a job at this point? Will the gap in my resume be a red flag and how do I position myself to be able to get a RN position. I feel like I will require a lot of training and I’m unsure if employers will be willing to provide that type of training? I am located in Toronto, but I am willing to relocate if I must.
