When we got our orange off the street, we gave him a bath to wash off the filth and fleas. Dude was so busy drinking from the faucet (technically faucet water dripping down from his forehead), that he didn’t realize he was bathed. Then he freaked out when we tried to dry him.

That video only got better as it went on. Started off as a catchy instrumental but then became even better with the hilarious parody lyrics! I was laughing by the end. Cat lovers are awesome, I love when people make cat themed parodies of songs (Bohemian Catsody is probably my favorite one)

He's telling you the water is somewhat cold, the water should feel slightly above luke warm on your forearm he says. Because cats have a higher internal body temperature than humans, he says.

u/abumeong Aug 31 '26
Assuming the OP is from Indonesia, which is a tropical country, we rarely find our tap water is cold except in mountainous areas, so I think the orange is fine, some cats just plain hate water.

My first cat would do this with me if a spoke right to him. We would have ranging conversations about people we know, military history, philosophy, etc. it drove my roommate crazy

u/TraditionalTackle1 Aug 31 '26
My orange cat is the only cat I’ve ever had that LIKES water

u/Waddlekitty Aug 31 '26
I had a pair of brothers that would jump in the pool with us
Then the longhair would fall asleep under the hair dryer.
I miss those two. Puzzle and Fiddlesticks

When my Cat was younger I had to lock him out of the bathroom when I was showering, and he would scream bloody murder with both paws all the way under the door because he would get in the shower every morning with me and I would be late because I was drying him off…
He just thought- we both need a morning shower! 🐈
Later he got over that, but I would never describe him as being fearful of or hating water. He is an explorer.
EDit: also I asked the vet about it because I was so confused what he was doing…
The Vet said he might have separation anxiety because we were so bonded which made him want to be included in all my activities.
And she also said that he may have originally wanted to protect me from the bathroom or thought I was trapped, but then realized warm water falling on him was actually not so bad so he kept doing it.
He has one of those water drinking fountains for cats and he bathes in it like a bird. He sticks his paws under it and his head. Maybe it reminds him of his childhood 🤷🏽♀️😂

This is extremely dangerous. The vibrations created by those sounds can destroy a house

Ah yes, that is the summons for other oranges to "solve the problem."
Usually just lawyers, but still... BEWARE!

This is cute incentive to do the exactly the opposite of what you said (even if he's absolutely NOT enjoying it.)

u/Independent_Wrap6980 Aug 31 '26
man that orange's expression is straight up murderous, you better sleep with one eye open. like first comment said, lawyer vibes but honestly this cat looks like he's already drafted the lawsuit in his head. agree with the third one, never bathe the orange, that's just common sense.

The water seeped in and short-circuited the poor orange's only braincell :(

Pretty sure oranges need far more baths than other cats because they do more stuff that makes them dirty.

My grandma feeds strays when they come to her place and I end up befriending most of them wherever I visited her since I was a little kid. There was one orange that was particularly derpy. I was getting a haircut and he complained so much and laid down in protest beside me and had my hair all over him. Another time, I was having a nice warm bath and he decided to get in there with me, so, I bathed him too. He seemed to like the smell of shampoo a lot, trying to rub up on my head. I just pretended to use it on him and he settled down. Chill little guy.

Why would you bathe a cat?
4
u/ceruleanjester Aug 31 '26
Cats cannot clean themselves from actual shit or mud stains, you SHOULD bathe the cat if you don't want it to be a walking biohazard in certain circumstances.

Fox shit? You're confusing cats with dogs
1
u/trimangled Sep 01 '26
You watch way too much TV. Why are you so doubtful of cat baths?
1
u/DrLubinski Sep 01 '26
I haven't watched TV in like 15 yrs.

u/trimangled Sep 01 '26
I guess youre just sheltered as fuck then! Because its pretty obvious that any cat owner will have to occasionally bath them dude, why are you acting like its anything unusual?

I have only ever bathed my cats if they tried to catch something in the water and were full of dirt afterward
