Camera Roll Roulette 🎲📸

With this, on a new post you just click to share a picture, scroll as far or wildly as you desire, stop and share something interesting, odd, amazing, or wonderfully mundane from that section of your camera roll. Repeat as necessary.

Let's try not to share recognizable faces. This isn't about people, more about meaningful things because you noticed them.

What’s something you noticed lately that you haven’t had a reason to tell anyone?

I’m resurrecting this sub just in time for spooky season. Let's see what's out there worth noticing. Get this, when you notice something, there's a bit of a spark inside. That's worth noticing, even if you're the only one who felt it.

Beyond that, I'd love to see handmade creations, things you wish you could buy, pretty flowers, and the random mundane all sitting together for us to enjoy and build a community around.

I also run The Cosmic Flea, an online flea market and home of Something Noticed. It’s a project about sharing what catches your attention and giving the places you love a little recognition. That’s what brought me here.

For the makers and curious creators: The Cosmic Flea is also looking for interesting things to partner on selling. Come see the Flea Directory to see how you would be represented.

Anyway, good to have you here and I hope this place can be excellent at best. But back to the point, what have you noticed lately?

This is community history. Fight me.

I bought this jewelry from Gracie’s Vintage, a local shop that’s been around for 10ish years. Luckily, the sunlight hit my hand just right as I was taking the picture.

Nothing monumental. But imagine finding this photo 50 years from now, alongside thrift store hauls, flea market finds, handmade creations, and random things people spotted around town.

We put so much of our everyday lives on the internet, but how much of it will actually survive? Posts get buried, accounts disappear, websites shut down. Whole little pieces of our communities could vanish into the void.

It’s got me thinking about a community record built by ordinary people, documenting the things that catch their attention. Not just landmarks and historic events, but the little moments that show what life was like in a particular place and time.

Would you contribute to something like that? If history belongs to the people who lived it, who gets to decide which moments count?

Murals are like Graffiti Candy

This is a throwback to when I lived in Reno, NV around 2019. I’ve always enjoyed watching graffiti on trains go by. That’s like the hard drugs of art. Murals, however, really give a place character.

I bought a couple really cool beaded spiders at a renaissance festival a couple years ago. They weren’t as badass as these are. I bought them as gifts and their symbolic meanings…

Creativity: Spiders create intricate structures from their own materials.
Patience: Both web-weaving and beadwork require care and precision.
Good fortune: In some folk traditions, spiders are associated with luck and prosperity.
Connection: Their webs symbolize how individual threads become something larger.

In any case, this is an example of a crafts to notice.

Here are a few of my handcrafted melancholic musings. A little existential dread, a little hope, and whatever else happened to wander through my head.

Feel free to share yours.

Something I posted two weeks ago looking for a community like r/Noticed

For one of the first times in my life I took the patient route. I didn’t rush into building an empty community around a flash of inspiration. I searched for what I wanted to build and when I couldn’t find it, I acted strategically. r/Noticed has been dormant for 5 years, but the name is perfect for what I was looking for and what I’m building on my own website. So although my Reddit account is a few months old, I had to work up my karma in order to qualify to take over a sub that wasn’t being used. Here I am, and I know I’m not the most Reddit-savvy so bear with me!
