Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta What do you think about the new sticker widgets?

Post image
20 Upvotes

I you have the beta or stable NOS 5.0, what do you like or dislike about these?

I like that there are multiple options for the auto change of different images - daily, hourly and on unlock and the general style they have.

I don't think the way the images on them are created is the best because at least on my phone (3a) beta I can't really use pictures I cropped myself because the selection for the widget will still try to crop them and sometimes it messes it up. It messes up on regular images too but if I insert a png with transparent background it should probably be able to understand that it has already been cropped...

I don't know, it's more interesting than the standard gallery widget but since it insists on cropping everything to it's liking I don't know if I really like it or not...

Sorry if someone asked this here already but if they did, I couldn't find it.

Phone (4a) Pro Why Nothing, WHY!!!

Who in the right mind decided to put the motherboard on the display, what made someone think it was a great idea to put the motherboard I'm one of the most delicate parts of the device? Why couldn't they copy every other phone company and put it into the chassis.

I only wanted to see to get a screen replacement because my phone screen cracked. I looked on the iFixit and it's a level nine πŸ˜”.

Thoughts?

Awsome...

Edit:
- Tried it in another phone. SIM works there (not a nothing phone).
- Reboot did nothing
- Switch from slot 1 to 2. Nothing.
- If I open menu for sim cards, it shows my card operator and end of the number but it canΒ΄t to turn my "operator on".

Comparing Audio Headphone 1 vs Headphone 1 Pro impressions

Headphone 1's were mad cheap on Amazon, about $150. I think the pro is like $400?

I wanna upgrade from my shure aonic 40, which are nice sound but i hate their case, their non standard analog aux connection, their physical button config, and their battery/charging paradigm.

Aside from the price i was drawn to the nothing headphone 1 because of the kef collaboration. I was recently shopping for a new home soundsystem and kef hardware was in consideration.

Can anyone compare the h1 vs the h1p? Is the h1p sound really worth twice the price? And, the h1p loses the kef collab and gains additional drivers, just how different is the sound in daily use? I prefer a flat "monitor" sound signature.

Nothing (company) Nothing Customer Service

Why is Nothing's customer service so terrible? I know they are a small company but when their customers have bad experiences with both software and ESPECIALLY hardware they could seem to care less.

For example, if you read through threads, there is an obvious issue with main boards on multiple different devices, but they won't admit fault. Most devices are barely out of warranty, which makes it that much more frustrating.

I would like to hear about people's experiences and resolutions, if they even got one.

Community Project I built Glyph Pedometer for Nothing Phone users β€” looking for beta testers!

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an Android app called Glyph Pedometer, inspired by the Nothing Phone's distinctive design and Glyph Matrix experience.

The app currently has three main screens:

  • Dashboard β€” daily step count and activity overview.
  • History β€” past activity tracking.
  • Settings β€” app preferences.

Human

Steps

I'm looking for early testers to try it out and share honest feedback.

πŸ§ͺ Google Play internal test: (if anyone is interested please comment so i can ping)

https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/4700980648304061880

I'd especially appreciate feedback on tracking accuracy, compatibility, battery usage, and the overall user experience.

This is my independent project, and I'm excited to improve it with suggestions from the community.

Thanks for checking it out! πŸ™Œ

Nothing OS Nothing OS 5.0 UI Bug β€” Calling Panel Blocks the Upper Screen Area

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

I'm facing an annoying UI issue on my Nothing Phone (3) running Nothing OS 5.0 Stable . During a normal phone call, the ongoing calling panel remains at the top of the screen while I'm editing something. It covers the upper portion of the screen, including content and options located near the top-left or top-right areas. As a result, anything displayed within the area where the calling panel appears becomes difficult or impossible to access while the call is active.

This seems to be a UI issue in Nothing OS 5.2 that Nothing needs to address. Is anyone else experiencing this? If there is no option to prevent the calling panel from covering other content, Nothing should improve its placement or behavior in a future update.

Phone (4a) Pro Screen prone to scratching?

β€’ Upvotes

3 days ago I brought the nothing 4a pro and I really do love the phone. But now, after using it for a few days there are multiple scratches on the screen protector not even at the bottom but at the top.

I neither have long nails nor have I put the phone on anything rough just tables and stuff. Is this an issue any of y'all have faced or is it a me problem? If so, how do I prevent further scratches.

(The previous phone I had did not have a screen protector and there are still no scratches so should I remove the protector?)

Note: I live in a dusty place and dust often accumulates on the screen which I have to clean with a paper towel or handkerchief.

Phone (4a) 5G not supported by my provider

It might be a stupid question, but I have to ask.

I bought a NP 4a and selected 5G as preferred network. I noticed that the status bar always showed 4G+ so I went to my provider and told them. They gave me a new SIM, but that didn't do anything. Then, I found online that I would have to send an SMS for it to be enabled, so I did it. I got an answer saying that my device is not supported by my provider. Is there something I could potentially do? Can I ask from providers to support the device?
