Goodbye Anglia Square

I joined and subsequently left that sub after some confusion and misunderstandings. I was on a wild goose chase looking for Virginia Beach on a map of east Anglia.
Apparently there's a Norfolk somewhere in the US. Nothing to do with us.
I expect other people have done the same.

Hey all :)
Can anyone recommend anywhere / anyone in Norwich who may be able to take a look at my Walkman for me?
It’s been stored for a couple of years now and in that time something in the tape deck seems to have perished, got stuck or isn’t moving as it should and oh my god, the shriek that comes out of it when I try to play a tape is hideous. I think I’ve damaged my ear drums 😂
Many thanks 💜

There were a lot of people who were interested in firing a black powder cannon in my last post, I was wondering if people would be down to start like a cannon club kinda thing and we can work towards getting a cannon set up and fire it? Also just talking about cannons and stuff? Can split the cost of getting a cannon and stuff so we can all say we own a cannon

Is it too much to ask for local councillors to get on with the job they were elected to rather than picking fights with everyone including their own party colleagues?

We're coming to Norwich next weekend for a gig at UEA and staying on 23rd and 24th October.
We're a group of late 50's gents who love our live music, festivals, camping (refusing to grow old) types.
Any recommendations for pub bands on the Friday evening?
There's not much coming up via online searches and not all pubs have an online presence so looking for any recommendations.
We are staying near UEA but happy to travel.
Thanks all.

I have an fundraiser going and want to get some leaflets up around the city. Does anyone know any LGBT friendly spots that would let me put it up (it is an LGBT-related fundraiser) that would get a bit of traffic?

Hi all!
I was wondering if there are any drawing classes that are available to join preferably in the afternoon or evenings? Something akin to say an evening language class but for drawing.
I’ve been trying to learn myself for a while but find the lack of feedback and structure a little difficult to deal with.
If possible I have a preference for figure drawing and landscapes and not really any interest in painting, pastel etc.
Thanks you in advance!

. S

This is Martha Goddard. She is from Norwich, and she was arrested almost exactly a year ago. She was charged with terrorism offenses in July this year, most of these were linked to a series of arson attacks on companies in Norwich (BBC, StarBucks etc). But she has also been charged with making explosives with the intent to harm or endanger human life.
These attacks were in the name of Palestine, and were a mini protest in her mind. She was also charged with biking to the Tackelneston communications tower to use thermite to burn it down. There was not enough evidence to suggest that it was her that did this, despite there being CCTV footage and a confession letter and Thermite found in her home. This would have been her biggest charge, so it's likely that this is going to lighten her sentencing significantly.
She is being sentenced tomorrow, at Woolwich Crown Court. This is the main court for terrorism, murder and rape in the UK. It's pretty serious! There are five people also being sentenced tomorrow for protesting for Palestine Action.
So, what are people's thoughts on this? Do you know much about the case? Is this new to you? Do you think this could be a big case that will spread in the news tomorrow? Do you agree or disagree with it? I'm just intrigued, because this sort of thing doesn't really happen in Norwich, we are a quiet and chilled little slice of the UK. Very rare that we have such a high profile case.
