Slang for microwaving something. Common in the US not sure about elsewhere.

To add detail, because microwaves use (safe) radiation to cook, and nuclear weapons cause (bad) radiation, and "nuke" was already a slang term meaning to attack with a nuclear weapon, using "nuke" to refer to cooking something in a microwave became common. At least in the US. And apparently Canada as well, according to my source u/Nurgle_Marine_Sharts.

Also, many believed (including me as a child, and some still do I'm sure) that microwaves were dangerous, because they heard "radiation" and investigated no further.
