And now is nearing 55, for all his contributions to the government, is going to be stripped of his position, of 30 years randomly on a random day decided by bunch of people who were probably just born when he was struggling.

He came from a very poor family and his dad was not supportive at all. Somehow an uncle got him the info about an operator's position in the govt and that's how he started. After working each and everyday on the tedious 10 to 5 and greying his hair on the multiple tables he sat on across Nepal while working, he now on the brink of promotion is going to be stripped of his position, and his whole life's work.

My dad still laughs about it, and says it's going to be okay to all of us or that I'll work regardless. My mom freaks out about it but we are trying to mentally prepare for this, but it's hard. I can't imagine how hard this must be for my dad if this is this hard for me and my mom.

And unlike for a govt employee's reputation from a bunch of corrupted employees, slow administrative bureaucracies and bunch of jealous intellectuals on the ground and on the internet, who couldn't achieve what he and many other people did, and have wayyyy better life than his, my dad hasn't been able to earn much for his "Govt employee status". Turns out we're an illness away from going broke and my dad still wears his 10 year old t-shirts and trousers and refuses to buy anything ( this was way before this whole thing happened). I've never seen my dad purge on anything. Never drank, never smoke and is a vegetarian. And still smiles, as he's in the brink of losing his lifetime work.

I wish I can be as hard working and as strong as you, dad. We're all very proud of you and your work, no matter the govt acknowledges it or not.

I'm 24, and I will not be voting for your government next elections. And btw, I convinced him to vote for this govt last election :)

Asti Tuesday was supposed to be out date I was so excited planned every small detail haha. Ani came monday night, btw it was the longest day ever for me. Ani bihana I texted her Good Morning, 3 4 ghanta samma ni kehi reply aayena ani feri I texted her kehi reply naaayesi tara ni no reply, ani belka 5 – 6 baje tira feri text gare ani sayad 8 – 9 baje tira she texted me back and she said “Ahh vana k vayo”

I said “how are you doing” testai kura haru ani asked her boli (the supposed day of the date) kati baje tira aahipugxau ani she said “I don’t know” ani I asked her khana khayera maybe 10 11 baje tira vetda hunxa vanera ani she just said “I don’t wanna meet you” ani lagyo boli vyaudaina hola vanera ani I said “no worries, kunai aru din tira shift garamla” ani she replied “I am not that interested in you” ani I replied her back saying “asti deki date vaneko thiyo ta hami le” ani she said “now I am saying no”
