Discussion Sooo Ikemoto willing to give Nishi plenty of screentime but not a single screentime for Kakashi? Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

People keep saying what can a retired Hokage Kakashi do to Shinju, then let me ask WHAT can a jonin Nishi do to Shinju?

Also I have a question to the people who read both manga and witness what Kakashi and Nishi did in the story: Between Kakashi and Nishi, which one will do and assist better in a situation which involve an enemy that is stronger than both of them?

For people who keep saying no point for Kakashi to appear when Shinjus are no doubt stronger than him. Then let's take Pain for example, it is obvious that Pain is much stronger than Kakashi. But as usual without a doubt, Kakashi will not just be defeated without doing anything, he analyzed and figured out Pain jutsus and tried to pass the information to Choji even in a dying situation. These shows that Kishimoto is still willing to give us a few panels of Kakashi tried to do something even though it is a losing match in the first place.

People keep saying Nishi was given a role which is relevant to the plot, then let me ask WHY does Ikemoto not willing to think and create and give a role which will be relevant to the plot to Kakashi?

Lets take Naruto Gaiden for example, yes it is obvious that Kakashi is not relevant to the Uchiha family matter and he is enjoying in the onsen. However despite as people said Kakashi is retiring, Kishimoto is still willing to give us a few panels of Kakashi by giving him a very trivial role such as phoning with Naruto.

Kakashi is definitely more helpful to Konoha since he is stronger and good in strategies compared to Nishi. Seriously until now all I see Nishi is just doing sensory, stare, run to the victims, "exposed" Shikamaru and together the total panels add up no more than 10. If Ikemoto give a role to Kakashi I am sure he can do more than what Nishi does to assist in the current situation.

People keep saying Kakashi is MIA in the manga because he is retired, but I feel that the bigger question is whether does Ikemoto even has an intention to give him a role so that he will be relevant and appear in the manga.

Notice Cry All You Want, Boruto Is Here to Stay 💀🔥 Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

Look, I understand some of y’all hate Boruto, but Kishimoto himself has said he established the key plot points and trusts Ikemoto to carry the story forward. The manga isn’t disappearing just because you don’t like it. 😭 Cry all you want, whine all you want, but Boruto is the continuation of the Naruto universe. And honestly, some of the hate feels less like genuine criticism and more like people from rival fandoms wanting to see the franchise fail. If you don’t enjoy Boruto, that’s fine — stop obsessing over it and go enjoy a manga you actually like.

Discussion The Otsutsuki were potentially some of the most interesting villains in the series. Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

(Last image unrelated.)

The concept of the Otsutsuki have so much potential, but feel so horribly mishandled from the sheer power creep they introduce to the series and because of the power creep the series went throughl

Kaguya is effectively the introduction to the group in Naruto, but because of how she was handled a lot of the fanbase hates her, which I understand. But I find her to be an interesting character especially since she’s pretty different from the other Otsutsuki, compared to the other Otsutsuki who we see, she seems to care a lot more for life and even had children, whereas the others didn’t and only care for other life as it serves to further their own existence. They also seem to lack a real bind to the Divine trees/Ten Tails like Kaguya does, where the Divine Tree left on the planet seems to be a way to return her to life or at least when it’s added with Black Zetsu. She’s the only Otsutsuki who technically cannot die unless she and Black Zetsu are sealed, whereas the others can more straightforwardly be killed. (I also just realized Black Zetsu kind of acts like a living Karma mark.)

The characters seems to have their own ways to dealing with Justus as well, with the sole exception of Aki Shiki of course. Kaguya has various abilities such as bringing people to different dimensions, being able to make truth seeking orbs, use All Killing bone ash to one shot opponents who fail to dodge it, and more. Momoshiki seems to be able to absorb jujutsu but unable to absorb Chakra in it’s entirety especially if it’s too much but can throw it back at others, Urashiki seems to be able to fish out chakra from people and can return in time by 10 seconds to avoid a future whee he dies, and Isshiki can shrink and enlarging objects. So it seems that they all have their own individual abilities that make them interesting in my opinion to see fighting people. But once again because the power creep introduced with them stops them from having more interesting fights or getting jumped by some week as characters. (An Example of a good jumojfnwith weaker characters is Asuna, Shikimaru and those two guys from Naruto vs Kakazu and Hidan, but unfortunately they just spend half the time standing there instead of fighting or actually doing anything. So unfortunately that’s a gripe I have with Naruto jumpings.)

Of course, story wise all of the Otsutsuki are pretty dog shit. Kaguya’s whole story should’ve been resolved with her sealing and if they really wanted to use her, don’t bring her back in Madara’s place as they (apparently) had two different reasons for using Infinite Tsukiyomi. (Even though her wanting to make a world where no one has to suffer and also making a world where she can live with her children makes sense. So it would’ve made sense for her goal and Madara’s to have some overlap instead of making an army of Zetus’s to fight the Otsutsuki, just have it be white Zetsu’s are an unfortunate cost of giving people said dream.) Momoshiki, Kinshiki, Urashika, and Isshiki just want to be like Shin, and to be like Shin they want to finish of Kaguya’s world for some reason meanwhile Isshiki wants to take over Kawaki’s body so that way he doesn’t need to worry about his lifespan, then he can go back to trying to be like Shin.

Because the majority of the Otsutsuki have this goal of wanting to be Shin, it makes them less interesting in my eyes, because Shin is essentially god, and likely not very interesting. Especially when it’s basically introducing abilities such as, Omnipotence. And yeah, I know the Sage of Six paths is similar to Shin, and has a similar thing in Rinne-rebirth which can be used by any rinnegan user to permanently bring someone back to life at the cost of their own, unless your name is Nagato, who could’ve done it the next day and still be alive. But the introduction of Shin feels pretty lame to me.

Their concept is extremely interesting to me, but the handling of them was really poor, and they seemed to be out in the sideline for tree people who seem intent on letting their nasty ass feet hang out instead of putting on some Goddamn shoes!

(That and I just wanted to see more of Kaguya or other Otsutsuki’s actually answer some questions and show of any semblance of character before getting tossed into the trash.)

Anways, if you read through that, I hope you enjoyed reading my ramblings, and take heavy notice of the word potential.

Also notice how the order of Otsutsuki pictures are in their defeat order.

Discussion Madara glazes Hashirama bcuz its the only mental cope left. Dealing with the reality of Hashirama breaks you or cucks you

Thumbnail

Can you imagine your path to strength is paved in bloodshed of your immediate most important kin, you kill your closest friend to gain the Mangekyo. This dude Hashirama just has to try a justu out and it's perfected

Then you come back after the death of your brother, and he gives you the Uchiha's most prized possession, his eyes, Madara comes back thinking he has the ultimate trump card megazord, and then Hashirama makes a wood golem of equal size to match it. No death, didnt need to see Tobirama die or anything, didnt even need to receive anything from another person, he just tried it out.

Then Madara goes and collects the strongest tailed beast alive and adds it to his fight vs Hashi. He pulls off some unknown mastery of jutsu and fuses his megazord with the epitome of evil and hatred in the nine tails. Your biggest lay it all on the line jutsu ever, and Hashi without rhyme reason or death of anyone important summons something so ridiculous that it hasnt been replicated by even the main characters. Again, just tries a jutsu out and its mastered, doesnt need to even try to heal, just does

And after sacrificing Konoha, his family, his friends, his clan leadership, his last brother, the nine tails, the eternal mangekyo sharingan, Hashirama just creates a juubi sized boddisatva with a thousand arms to punch your tailed beast momb susanoo swords into the dirt.

That breaks a man mentally, you either lose it and become kabuto, or you try to convince yourself you still have pride and ego and glaze the man into eternity, in cuck like fashion but done in such a way that you really are hyping yourself by acknowledging the weight of your entire bloodline wasnt even close enough to bother this guy who just made bigger and bigger legos first try

Question Where did Madara get a second eye?

Post image
• Upvotes

We all know Madara used Izanagi after Hashirama killed him and lost his right eye to that, but later he awakens the Rinnegan and gives two eyes to Nagato – Where did he suddenly get a second eye from? I don't remember if that was every explained.

Everyone keeps saying his eye just healed, but here he says he literally does not have a second eye anymore.

Theory Am I trippin or is Jiraiya a literal reflection of Friedrich Nietzsche?

I’ve been reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra while watching Naruto, and the biographical parallels are insane.

• The Books: Jiraiya’s books represent Nietzsche’s writings—seeking a path through suffering and looking for a savior.

• The Rejection: Tsunade’s constant rejection of Jiraiya perfectly mirrors Lou Salomé’s rejection of Nietzsche. It's the exact same archetype of the untouchable muse. Even Jiraiya's line about rejection making a man stronger and using it as "writing material" is pure Nietzschean Amor Fati.

• The Übermensch: Naruto is the living Overman—creating meaning out of pure pain and brokenness, achieving what the creator (Jiraiya) couldn't.

Am I overthinking this or did Kishimoto basically adapt Nietzsche's biography and philosophy straight into the Hidden Leaf?

Interest Justify Naruto to me

I have been watching anime for years, but never got into the long weekly episode shows from back in the day.

I am genuinely interested, but I don't typically watch lengthy shows. FMAB for example was a slog for me. If I do watch it, it would probably be a filler free version that I've found on this thread.

I love intricate worlds with vast lore and genuine character progression, but is also well paced and maintains a tight plot without an ounce of fat, which is my biggest concern here.

Sell me on this, guys!

Discussion Strip Away the Plot Armor: Danzo and the Elders Made the Only Logical Military Call Against Pain

Post image
150 Upvotes

Take off the Shonen plot armor goggles for two minutes and look at this from a pure military and leadership standpoint. Danzo and the elders were completely justified in wanting to keep Naruto at Mount Myoboku.

First, look at the information Tsunade actually had. She knew Pain had just killed Jiraiya, one of the greatest ninja Konoha ever produced. She had no confirmation that a 16-year-old Naruto had fully mastered Sage Mode, let alone reached a level capable of defeating someone who literally calls himself a God. Calling Naruto back was essentially handing the Akatsuki their primary objective on a silver platter while Konoha was in absolute chaos.

Second, the risk of losing the Nine-Tails was catastrophic. People forget how close the world actually came to ending in that fight. Naruto was literally one millimeter away from fully tearing off the seal. If Minato had not installed a fail-safe chakra ghost inside Naruto, something Tsunade had zero knowledge of, the full Nine-Tails breaks out right in the middle of a crippled village.

Think about how that scenario plays out:

  1. Kurama kills Pain, but now an unstoppable, unsealed beast rampages across what is left of the Land of Fire, while Nagato is still alive somewhere in the shadows.

  2. Pain manages to suppress or capture Kurama, completing the Akatsuki weapon project and sealing the fate of every ninja nation.

Either outcome means total annihilation. The only reason Konoha survived was a miraculous chain of unplannable events: an unannounced dead Hokage bail-out, Hinata triggering the transformation, and Nagato having a sudden change of heart to resurrect everyone he killed.

Tsunade gambled the entire existence of the Leaf Village and the entire shinobi world on blind faith in a teenage genin. From an in-universe strategic perspective, keeping your ultimate deterrent hidden away until you understand the enemy threat was the only sane call. Danzo and the elders were completely right.

Request Please help me find this time travel fic

As the title says. I’m looking for a time travel fic I read last year. It has Sakura as the main character and she travels far back to the Warring States Period during the whole Uchiha vs Senju conflict but before Izuna died. She tries to summon Katsuyu and fails because her contract doesn’t yet exist in this time so she tries a reverse summon and ends up signing with tigers(? Or just cats in general, I think).

She spends some time as a wandering doctor and is told to help a lady who might’ve been dying due to childbirth or some other illness. The place she goes to ends up getting ambushed by some mercenaries and the Uchiha’s are hired to go stop this from happening, however, when they get there almost all the enemies are dead or injured. They find Sakura and she ends up going with them and they strike up a deal. The Uchihas need a healer and Sakura wants access to their library so that she can find some information on how to get home. She stays with them for some time and even gets her own red plated armor. There’s a slow burn romance between her and Madara. At some point she saves Izuna from dying and they become friends.

On the Senju side of things, once they hear of Sakura and her healing deeds, they begin to suspect that she might be of Senju blood. The Uchiha only start thinking the same way at the end of the story when their home is attacked and Sakura awakens the mokuton to save them. The Uchiha end up abandoning her on the territory and she reverse summons herself to the cat land to recover. The Senju go to investigate the attack and see the mokuton and confirm their suspicions of her Senju bloodline.

The fic was at least 200k words. I think it had 40(?) chapters, I’m not too sure. I just remember it was a lot of chapters and words. I hope the brief summary was detailed enough. Please help me find this fic.

Discussion Why do so many people hate on the Naruto manga?

I see a lot of people online hate on and make fun of Naruto’s manga and i really don’t understand it. I watched all of Naruto back in 2020 and it was my second ever big anime after Bleach. I fell in love with it after the first 10 episodes and the proceeded to bing watch it in less than a month. To this day I stand by and swear by it. A week or so ago and found almost all of the Naruto’s manga on facebook marketplace for dirt cheap and didn’t think twice about. I LOVE IT. The art, the unique style, the phenomenal pace, I can’t put it down. It’s already one of my favourite mangas ever . Then here on reddit i see a lot of people hate it and saying it’s weak, and just a lot of bs. What’s that about, how can you hate on Naruto like that?

Movie Let's say i never watched or read Boruto and i just finished watching Shippuden and the Last movie. What should i do ?

Post image

Should I go straight to reading Boruto and only watch some canon episodes or completely skip that shi and just wait for the new naruto manga thats coming out in a year or 2 ?

Is it worth watching/reading Boruto right now from the very start ? I don't wanna waste my time reading something that might get overshadowed by a new bigger project written from the original author.

Im hearing a lot of mixed opinions about this. Some say that its worth it and it's peak, some say Boruto isn't even canon and Kishimoto has nothing to do with it , and others say that they spent too much time investing on Boruto and reading it all these years that even if its ass, it's too late for them to quit and stop reading cause they want to see how it ends.

In what category do yall belong and what would you suggest me to do ?

Question Could someone explain to me why it was a bad idea to not have Naruto return to the village?

Thumbnail
gallery
48 Upvotes

I don’t think I’m seeing the same picture as the Elders and Danzo, but I most definitely not seeing the same picture as Tsunade or anyone else. Because to me, bringing Naruto back seems like one of the worst choices possible. While I understand he is currently training to surpass Jiraya or at least become as strong as Jiraya so he could beat Pain calling him back could lead to him losing to Pain and getting captured.

He was there for like week at most, meaning you can’t really expect him to come back with something like an imperfect Sage mode(or a perfected version of it), so there’s a massive chance of him losing.

Then again, you had people like Konohamaru kill a Pain, and Kakashi who I think killed or massively crippled the Asura path, so bringing him back with those highly skilled or powerful Shinoni plus others like Torture guy(can’t recall his name) could help him fight by a good margin since the reason for Jiraya’s loss and Naruto’s loss was due to the number of opponents. But this is knowledge I doubt anyone else had at the time and even then the Asura path’s death or crippling was done by complete accident too.

Anyways, unrelated to the question, but Danzo could’ve probably just undid all the damage and destruction Pain had done by using Izanagi. I don’t think there was ever an established limit to it’s abilities seeing how in a flashback some Uchiha used it to revive their entire squad(but I guess didn’t undo to the damage to the environment). So if Danzo got off of his fat fucking ass for once and actually did something useful to literally anyone(including Tobirama because we all know that killing the Uchiha would’ve pissed him off since he cares more for the village than hating the Uchiha) they likely wouldn’t even needed Naruto in the first place.

Discussion Do you consider the Konoha Crush event to be part of the Chunin Exams Arc or is it a Separate Arc altogether?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I personally think it's the same arc and it's the conclusion to the story of the Chunin Exams, it literally happens during the Chunin Exams.

I don't think there is a need to separate it, although I know some people do that for the Chunin Exams to not be so big or just to recognize events easier.

The same happens with Naruto's fight with Sasuke near the end of Part 1, in which they separate it from the rest of the "Sasuke Retrieval Arc" and consider it it's own arc.

Discussion Boruto gets better?

Post image
• Upvotes

Finished watching Naruto for the second time. First time was when the episodes were releasing.

To be honest i didnt like the way it ended. Not sure if its a false memory, but i remember Naruto ending it as Hokage. The only chunin to skip straight to hokage. But watching again it never happened, and it made no sense, since the story had to make it happen...i mean, two things had to happen so Naruto as a story made sense 1) sasuke had to be saved by him 2) he had to become hokage. But the anime simply ends like, "you have to study to be a hokage".....and, the end. I dont know.... Makes no sense. Just make the time runs then and show us the damn Naruto as hokage.

OK.....whatever. I decide then to watch Boruto. Never had interest. Only knew its was about naruto's sob. But maybe i could see Naruto as hokage.

Well....watched 5 episodes so far, and i didnt like anything there. Boruto is just annoying. And dont like this father. And they try to make him a reckless kid like Naruto was, but simply isnt a good personality.

Actually... Every personality there is generic. Every kid there is generic and has nothing interesting to show. When we watched Naruto, the first episodes make feel theres something in that anime that worth to watch.

My question.....does Boruto get any better eventually or it's just that empty anime that holds it only because carries the name of Naruto?

Theory Head canon: The Twin snake sacrifice jutsu Orochimaru taught to Anko was a backup plan incase she turned on him.

Considering he had a contingency plan for when Sasuke betrayed him,I think it would make sense that he would do the same thing for his first pupil. I think it would be very out of character for Orochimaru, the guy obsessed with living forever,to keep a jutsu that literally kills you in his arsenal. I think he taught it to Anko specifically incase she turned against him. He’s way stronger than her so it makes sense that she would have to resort to a hax type jutsu if she wanted to kill him. I think the jutsu was made by him and it was never intended to kill two people, just stun the user for long enough that he could have easily killed her if he wanted to.

Question Did Kakashi help Team 10 avenge Asuma because he was having regrets about Sasuke?

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

I recently started rewatching Shippuden after a long time, and I remembered this part of the story. I know this is a common debate topic of whether or not Kakashi is a hypocrite for helping Team 10 with revenge and not Sasuke.

I wondered if he had regrets like maybe wishing he didn't leave Sasuke alone for the Sound ninja to show up or make some kind of compromise to help him take Itachi down. Sasuke reminded Kakashi a lot of himself when he was a child.

Though I think Sasuke would have gone after revenge anyway and refused any help from Konoha even if something was offered and no one could truly force him to stay. So I don't think anyone is to blame other than Orochimaru since he was a total groomer.

I'm thinking maybe he was like "Well they aren't going to listen to Tsunade's reasoning, so might as well help them get this done more efficiently and safely."

It is in Kakashi's character to regret and suffer with guilt, so I feel like this would have it make sense for him to go with Team 10.

Also, the goal was to take down the Akatsuki anyway, and they knew a lot more about them now than back when Itachi returned to the village to kidnap Naruto in Part 1.

Sadly Sasuke turned out exactly the way he predicted though when he warned him about revenge and his warnings would have kept him in the village if the Sound ninja hadn't shown up after Kakashi left to leave Sasuke to reflect on his thoughts.
