hi. im a grad who was screwed over in my FYP in last year. for anyone who remembers my original post, i have linked it above and commented what i have found out. copy pasting it here too if its too far deep in the comments.
do note im not trying to pretend i have advice. this is for my own vent/closure, as well as for anyone who saw my original post to have the end of the story with popcorn.
for anyone finding themselves in a similar situation, i wish you the best for any corrective/preventative measures and hope you dont end up in my boat. all the best.

One year post grad Update:
Yeah, found out my professor lied on my evaluation while sweet talking me to my face. Lied about being late to meetings that never even happened since she never held them, aside from one online meeting to initially engage with her to be under her mentorship, and a group meeting near end of semester one where she was late herself but we didnt have a problem waiting. Also lied by implying i sent incomplete drafts by semester 1 and didnt mamage properly when she herself mentiomed on email that its okay and that it was just a progress check in, when simultaneously most of cohort hadnt even begun writing their FYP draft. Screwed my batchmate over too, who was under the same mentor with me, lied on his evaluation too. We both were guided to do Lit Review by our mentor, and evaluated by the same supervisor and moderator. We both got the C. Found out about the evaluation since we went to go talk to the assoc prof, asked him to send over what the evaluation comments were. Moderator ghosted us, we received the supervisor comments. And saw the lying. Vastly different than all the confidence and sweet talking on teams chat when talking to her before I asked the assoc prof. Before the assoc prof forwarded us the eval, he told us if we really want to bring forward the case to the board, we need to present all proof that work was done, but also be able to peove that the evaluation by moderator/supervisor was biased, and even if we have all the proofs of us sending over and working on our drafts and all communications with both mentor and supervisor, that do we truly have a way to prove that the intention was biased and this wasnt professional judgement? And even if we provided evidence, can we say that the intention was exactly that? Can we really really really? Etc.
[Edit (not in original post): we had met our mentor and he was shocked too, since he said perhaps theres a posisbility that our submissions were slightly less in teems of compeittion to the cohort as a whole, but was unable to understand how the shortfall was all the way to a C. He had said that the professor (our supervisor) had also mentiomed there was no lack of depth or knowledge in the final submit when I had paid 10 dollars for the review. Additionally before the final grades, the day i submitted my FYP draft for a signature, I had asked to pursue a publication which the mentor had been open to. After 2 months of no response she had finally said that the lab/mentor has to focus and had no time for pursuing it and wishes me the best. And then the final evaluation came out.]
To make it worse i remember feeling everything was so unfair as there were classmates who wrote their FYP during a week before final deadline because their project scopes changed last minute, and they srill got an A. I put in a lot of effort into my presentation and it was just discarded because the only question the moderator had was 'why Literature Review. You kmow its not a real FYP right', and left after. Later we asled our supervisor and she said she will help. Then we got the C. And we never knew about the truth on the evaluation later. Just to let you know, the others in the prof's lab all got A or B+, and i saw them work hard so I also know they earned it. Nonetheless was really shattered and probably depressed. Since all i could feel was cheated and this is the slap sealed onto my academic history, the one thing thats supposed to reflect my capabiltiies as a researcher, and this happened.
Took a real hit emotionally, career plan wise, and to be homest my soul just dissipated. Dont care if it sounds dramatic but with the way I was truly trying to turn my life around at Y3 and Y4, finally wanting to love my degree, learn things, wanting to do further education, etc, this whole thing just reallt shattered me. Graduation amd convocation was tpugh to fake happiness and excitement at. Don't have the will to do anything research related again, all my plans and flair and spark for it has died. And there will never be a way to prove any of this if I ever want to be curious about science or doing research again, because even if any graduate college gives me a chance, what am I to explain when it comes up and are they gping to believe a student who claims she got poorly graded or a fairly well known academic institute with professors in impressive fields that did that evaluation. Im tired, and yes, I have given up.
Right after y4s2, I more or less immediately started working full time and adjusting to worklife expectations, so yeah, really felt the world close in on the double. I'm just working now, a bit more put together these days. Just going through the motions, a bit empty truth be told. I have considered still giving the science spark thing a match, maybe try and do something to build my profile on the side, but I just kmow I don't have the real heart to do it anymore. I know life will get better and usually intensity of being upset eases with time. Im getting there. Still, I don't think I will ever forgive her.

I'll be a Year 3 international student next AY with 5 CCA/hall points and am looking to secure a non-aircon double room.
My top preference is North Hill (Banyan, Binjai, Tanjong), but I'm open to any hall on campus as long as I get a place.
Looking for insights or past experiences from seniors:
Thanks in advance!

Emailed CCDS undergrad office and they said that MH3701 (Basic Optimization) is an MPE, so it can only be taken in Year 3, and that I should "stick to recommended curriculum." I want to do it next semester. I meet all the pre-requisites, there is no mention of Year 3 standing in the requirements, and it's only offered in Sem 2 and I don't wanna keep it for Y2S2 (already very hectic) or Y4S2.

What i said in the caption😇 also, if i mc finals (50%) is that enough to get it marked as 'incomplete' in my grades? Because i heard from some people that they would just fail me

Hi all, I’m an exchange student taking IE2110 this semester. I’m considering missing the second lab session because of a trip, and I’m trying to understand what the real consequences would be.
From the course material, each lab is worth 5% and I don’t see anything about a pass requirement or an attendance rule for labs, but I don’t want to assume.
For those who have taken IE2110 (or similar NTU labs):
- Has anyone missed a lab before? What happened?
- Is there usually a make-up session?
- Is there any consequence beyond losing that lab’s marks (e.g. failing the course)?
I’m not worried about the 5% itself, mainly want to know if there’s anything else I should be aware of. Thanks in advance!
Hello CS seniors, Im y2 heading into sem 2, in light of ntu telling us to reserve spots, ive got a question.
I want to specialize in either HPC or edge computing so shld i look to start adding MPEs to my semester 2 for y2 or can i still chill out for a bit and add them later during y3/4? The curriculum says i need to pick 1 BDE and 2 MPEs but on stars I have to select the courses from Y3 so im not too sure about blindly reserving courses.
Also what BDE would yall recommend or can i just replace that with another 3 AU course cuz i did see a comment floating here once that CCDS ppl shldnt bother with BDEs lol

as a year 2 cbe student
i am doing ch2107 and i most likley failed very badly for my ch2107
which is also double counted for my 2nd major in data analytic
i want to ask if i fgo ch2107, will i still be able to double count it for 2nd major?
for ch2107
10% for assignment 1a and 1b
40% for midterm 1
10% for assignment 2
40% for midterm 2
i most likely failed badly for midterm 1, so i thought of fgo it
if it can't no longer double count it after fgo, should i just dabao?

I forgot my IE2104 lab exist today and just remember later. When I run through the guidelines, if no valid LOA or MC, reduction of 30% apply. Are there any ways to avoid such reduction. No exp doing LOA. Help suggest if anyone has faced sth similar.

hi everyone what do you think about my planned workload for ME y2s2? for context i have been taking 20AU in y1s1 and 22 in y1s2 and y2s1. however i had to take a 2 year LOA for NS so i am a bit rusty. what are the difficulties for the core mods? should i replace some mods or push back some? i am remaining with MA3003, MA3005, MA4001, MA4002, HW0288 and 2 MPE mods other than the ones listed above. TYA

So I got best in Arabic the previous sem and will receiving an award from an external org soon. However, I haven't received any news, or even an email, from NTU about a book prize or the like, even though the previous top scorer also received a book prize from NTU. Any clue where the 2025 / 26 list is so I can check?

Hey there! I am just another bored Singaporean that has personally felt that the latest shift in government message to 24h PSI and 1h PM2.5 has unintentionally deflated the raw numbers we have been observing daily, and has also just been a bit disorienting for those of us that grew up with our old 3h PSI numbers throughout the mid 2010s haze period.
Thus, I just made a small project that does the following:

I would love to get more feedback on possible functionalities, and hopefully this helps you with clarity as much as it has done for me!

Hi not sure if there’s like any changes to how Canva allows verification of Canva Pro/Education now but I can’t seem to get access to such features despite signing in via the NTU email + trying to verify as teacher (it keeps asking me to use some form of credentials to verify) 🥲 does anyone know how to get Canva Pro?

Does anyone here knows why the bus would drop off students near the GAIA building area? Is it a 2nd-ary drop off point?

Wanted to ask seniors how the grading is like for SC1005? I kinda messed up my lab quiz today so now my total lab quiz score is sitting at 25/32 (78%), with 1 last quiz to go in 2 weeks time.
I understand that finals is 50% of our total grade, and assuming that I am able to get 100% for all the other miscellaneous components(LAMs, Lab Assessments, Tutorial), is getting an A still possible?
Really worried about the grading and really hope seniors can advise on this, thank you!

I'm an international student in ntu cs rn, just curious about what the outlook is once I graduate. To those of you who are international grads from cs: were you able to find a job here in Singapore, or did you have to go back.

Hi! I’ll be going for Korea University’s winter exchange from 21 Dec 2026 to 9 Jan 2027, and I’m hoping to fly to Korea earlier to explore before school starts!
I’m currently planning to fly over on 16 Dec, but I’m flexible, so lmk when you’re planning to go too! We can discuss and hopefully book flights together and maybe share an Airbnb/hotel for a few nights 🥹💗
Would love to find fellow girls to explore, eat good food, shop and take pictures together before the programme starts!
If you’re interested, feel free to DM me! Let’s be travel buddies 🎀🇰🇷

Hi Business seniors! how do I study for AB0403? ( Programming Decision Making )
I tried to find past year papers but their nowhere to be found…
To practise should I keep looking at my Cher’s solutions to the tutorials? All I know is that it’s gonna be an MCQ
