Advice Anyone doing SAT nowadays?

So since trump took over, we lost the access of going to America which has greatly affected me and of course a lot of students in Myanmar. However according to the news, the election will be taking place again and I wonder if anyone is considering taking the SAT or not. ( Please correct me if I am wrong, I am a good listener and would love to hear your opinions).

Advice What is the reality of getting rich?

So I'm 19 yo Male looking for ways to get rich. I still don't know which career path to take tbh. Recently one of my friends who is a senior network engineer said he would put me on as a junior NE at the company he is working at and said the starting salary would be 4 lakhs. I mean for me at this point 4 lakhs is a lot since I only got 1 lakhs allowance per month. But part of me still thinks it's too low. Considering people on the internet are getting like 10 30 50 100 lakhs per month doing god knows what. Call me delusional but I don't wanna live my life stuck as an average 9 to 5 worker. But at the same time it's the best opportunity I would have at my current situation. I'd say I have this fear of being ordinary but at the same I have no skills to become extraordinary.

Discussion 💬 Heart Of Glass but there are 3 Myanmar Copies/Covers

So I recently discovered there are three versions of Heart Of Glass covers in Myanmar and I find all of them to sound good and unique but the thing is which one do you think did the best in sounding almost like the original?

( Note - since we have no MTV videos of the songs, I just used random MTV’s of each singers in case if you’re wondering why the song and their lip sync is off )

Discussion 💬 Leaked document?

Post image
43 Upvotes

I think it’s pretty obvious this isn’t a leaked document anymore. They’re out in the open, conscripting and taking young folks right in front of everyone. From what I’ve seen around here, every ward admin has a quota to fill. In the past, if someone on the list had enough cash, they could switch their spot with someone who was forcefully taken by military thugs. But now that fewer young people are getting taken, the price for swapping has shot up. It's become a big money making scheme for the military and police.

The military regime really doesn’t like shadow banking, or hundi as we call it, but guess who benefits the most? Yeah, the hundi agents and importers.

Tons of people from Myanmar are working abroad and sending a ton of money back home every month using hundi. The military has tried hard to push people to use legal channels for sending money, but it’s mostly been a bust. People always find a way to work around it. It’s a huge, huge business.

If you know folks working overseas and can figure out a way to exchange money, there’s a solid opportunity there. If you’re clever, you can use that foreign cash to import goods. It’s not a walk in the park, but the profits can be well worth the effort.

I have been seeing quite a lot of people talking bad about women because one case was "false". Just because one case was not true does not mean every case is not. Dumb ahh commenting things like

#speakout#

trying to mock others speaking out about why women should not be r*pe because of their clothes.
Is it that hard to understand? Most of the ones commenting seem to be low class citizens who most likely did not finish high school.

This is not a gender war. Feminism is about equality. But looks like they don't have enough brain cells to understand what that means.

Normal human morals are not that hard to maintain. Be a human.

Discussion 💬 Can I get my own household registration without my family’s cooperation?

I’m trying to go abroad to study, but I’m stuck because my household registration (အိမ်ထောင်စုစာရင်း) is still under my family’s household.

As I understand it, to establish a separate household registration, I may first need to be removed from my existing household registration with the head of household's approval. The problem is that I’m estranged from my family and cannot safely approach them to ask for this.

My family has physically assaulted me, including throwing things at me, and interfered with my career. I no longer live with them, and I’m currently staying in a separate apartment. I don’t feel safe going back to the family home or involving them in my affairs.

I need to go abroad for my studies, and education agents have told me that I need a certified household registration document for the visa process. At the moment, I only have a copy of the front page of my existing household registration, not the original.

Is there a way to resolve this directly through the ward administration or township immigration office, given that I live separately now?

Advice 🕊️

I am 17 years old, and I'm feeling really conflicted and confused about why I feel so different from other guys. Ever since I was a child, I was always called derogatory names"အခြောက်ကြီး" "အခြောက်ကြီးလား". However, I am not feminine, nor do I want to live or act like a woman.

As I grew older, I came to accept myself and identify as homosexual. It's true—I only feel attracted to very few girls, but I am attracted to guys quite a lot. My younger sister is the only one who knows about this.

What I want to say is that ever since I was young, I've been gentle, loved flowers, and listened to songs by artists like Connie and Hay Mar Ni Win. Because of things like that, people probably assumed I was an effeminate person who wanted to be a woman. But I have no desire to live as a woman.

When I get older, I want to come out to my family about my sexuality. However, I'm afraid they will misunderstand and think I want to be a woman or that I'll start living like one. I know this might be a lot to think about at my age, but I was wondering if there is any helpful advice or guidance you could share.

Discussion 💬 Union Day / Pyidaungsu Day is the most meaningless national holiday

When I was younger (because I grew up overseas, but I still love Myanmar, government no, people, food and culture yes), I thought National Day and Independence Day were synonymous. (You can probably guess where I grew up.)

Now that I'm older and started to take some time to learn more about our tragic motherland, I realise that, and possibly many people too as well, that Union Day is the most meaningless holiday.

Close to 80 years after independence from the British, and we are more fragmented than ever. This fake government only holding 20-30% of the country effectively, AA wanting a parallel government and already governing it the way the want to, the 3 SAZs that born as a result of the CPB collapsing which in my opinion, should have never existed in the first place and lots of other regions. On top of the issue of the Rohingya who have suffered and probably think that it is krma that the entire country is in chaos, it makes me realise that the spirit of Panglong can never be achieved.

It'll take us years, if not decades, or even centuries for us to be a functioning country again and this will persist so long as the TMD continue to involve themselves in politics. The only morbidly good thing is that for the first time in 70+ years, MAH made everyone united against him, but this unity will only exist until he's gone.

Panglong has become a romanticised idea, and something like a legend, and Union Day itself is now just propaganda used by the TMD. Sooner or later, we might end up as the next Yugoslavia, where everything just collapses and Myanmar just becomes the 7 regions which become Burma and 7 independent states.
