Complaint The worst of us

This election is bringing out the worst of us. The amount of racist, sexist, and down right disgusting opinions of people are shocking and appaling.

It's sad to see that so many people feel so comfortable sharing these opinions because theyre hidden behind an anonymous keyboard. And after its all said and done, you just walk around with this in your heart? Shame on all of you.

If you're religious, God is watching. If you're not religious, how is your conscious okay with this?

The worst part is that it's not even one group! What the fuck?

Complaint The state of our healthcare system

Post image
10 Upvotes

I'm honestly in shock. My wife is in excruciating pain and is only 7 days postpartum. I took her to Milton Hospital's Emergency Room and I checked that it said it is roughly 3 hours to see a doctor. We've been here for 3 hours waiting on a preliminary blood work. At this rate I expect we'd only see the doctor 6-7 hours later. The online wait times are broken and it's sad to feel that the system is pretty broken.

Just venting.

Complaint Disturbing ads being distributed on doorsteps

just found an anti- abortion flyer left on my doorstep today and I am incredibly outraged.

Regardless of where anyone stands on the politics of abortion, the stuff on this pamphlet are completely unacceptable to be throwing onto people's doorsteps. It has grossly disturbing, scientifically inaccurate images, and the writing inside is SO unprofessional...even going so far as to downplay SA and life or death medical situations in a couple dot jots. Rather than having any real educational value to get their "anti abortion" point across, they're using such cheap guilt trips to shame women who have been through this. Disgustingly unempathetic.

My main concern is that these are being dropped where anyone, including young kids, could easily pick them up and see these graphic images. So yeah, just a warning for parents with young children: watch out for your kids picking these up!

Did anyone else receive one of these today? I can't be the only one who thinks this crosses a major line.

Complaint Hosted overseas family this week and spent the entire drive apologizing for our election sign landfill

I had family visiting from abroad and planned the scenic route to show off how clean and quiet our town is.

The moment we exited the highway, that illusion died under a mountain of corrugated plastic.

Every boulevard, median, and intersection looks like an outdoor stationery warehouse exploded. Four candidates crammed onto a three-foot curb, blocking sightlines for right turns, their laminated faces glaring at each other. My cousin looked out the window and deadpan asked:

“Is this a protest, or did someone drop a shipment of billboards?”

No undecided voter in human history has ever sat at a red light, looked at a crooked plastic sign skewered into the mud, and whispered: “Dave’s sans-serif font really speaks to me. He gets my vote.”

It’s visual pollution, a traffic hazard, and guaranteed landfill the morning after election day. Can we finally ban these things on public property?

Complaint Students on bikes

Two Bishop Redding students on bikes on the road went right through the stop sign, at Laurier and Holly while 4 cars were there and did not even look when they almost crashed into a car nor when they were honked at! STOP SIGNS ARE FOR EVERYONE. Please slow down and look.

Complaint Kids are destroying large chess pieces at Premium outlets and parents are not doing anything about it

Was out at the outlets this weekend and there was large chess pieces in center court being destroyed by multiple kids and just slamming them to the ground. Parents are just sitting down and doing nothing about it. My wife and I tried to put the pieces back but kept getting taken and slammed

Complaint Preacher lady at the GO Station

She's always got this brown ensemble on: long coat, leather boots and gloves. I've seen her as early as 7am and as late as maybe 6 or 7 pm. She's been there since early fall of last year.

Constantly yelling about 'giving your life to Christ' or 'Getting right with the lord', some fire or brimstone type message. I don't want that to be the first thing I hear getting on/off the train.

I find it menacing, uncomfortable, intolerant and extremely distruptive. This morning at 8:30 AM she was walking along the go station platform, yelling her usual speil! Felt very invasive, I practically ran into the train to get away from her!

Anyone else seen her? Is there anywhere I can report this?

I will straight up vote for any one that stops taking porta-potties out of public parks so freaking early in the year.

Beautiful sunny day. Bundles of kids at parks. No where to go pee.

Complaint Transit is horrendous

Everything is so uncoordinated and unavailable. From the fact that trains don’t run on weekends, to the fact that the last one leaves at 8:30, buses are frequently late, so even if you want to catch the buses that go after the train you might miss it because the Milton transit buses don’t come on time.

On top of that the shelters have been under construction for months??? I deadass could finish whatever construction they’re doing in 2 weeks. There’s always construction on Ontario St and without failure the roads end up worse than what they were initially.

It seems like nobody who has the authority to resolve these issues does anything, and they’ve long been an issue. A big part of it is the old hag Krantz who doesn’t do shit but build more homes for his buddies at Mattamy.

This is really really ridiculous, for a town that’s only increasing in population, actually the fastest growing town in the country, the transit and the overall urban planning has not scaled proportionally

Complaint Town after-hours services are crap

Really, what the fuck.

I called by-law this morning because I'm sick of a neighbour's loud-ass whiny pool pump running all weekend every weekend. Starts Saturday morning around 5am and runs till Monday at about 9am.

So of course there is no way to even leave a message for bylaw anymore, and their phone system forwards you to 211.

211 is for community social & health services?

I spoke to someone at 211, and he was like "what the hell, why is bylaw sending you here?" Like I know...

In the past, by-law had told us to call the police - as if they will come for a noise issue. They can't even deal with all the racing and modified-for-loud cars they promised they would handle

How do we fix this? Can whoever wins the upcoming elections fire all the employees? There's no accountability in the town for their lack of service.

ETA -
1 - my question wasn't about the noise, my question was about the misleading information and lack of 'doing the job our taxes pay for' from the town.
2 - As for the neighbours with the pool pump, these fucking morons have had the cops called on them countless times for noise over the years; I've gotten up so many times and see police down the street there. I've walked past their house and had another newer neighbour in the area ask if the yelling was normal or if we should be calling in a domestic. I live a few houses away from them and can hear them arguing in the evening.
3 - everyone saying "just talk to your neighbour" probably counts on it being too awkward for your neighbour to say anything about the cars you're parking on the sidewalk, or cigarette butts you throw in their yard, while at the same time complaining about how Milton has lost it's 'small town appeal' - the fact that people aren't thinking or caring about how their actions impact others is when the town lost any small town appeal it might have had

Complaint Milton Mall Service Ontario Experience was terrible

Terrible experience with Service Ontario at the Milton Mall. The staff there is hugely incompetent in my experience and many customers I have seen literally crash out in the times I visited there thanks to the staff's incompetent and rude behaviour.

In my experience, I went in to renew my license and they got my address wrong, not once, but three times. Atleast, they got it wrong the first time and weren't able to fully fix it the other two times. I don't know what rocket science they need to learn in order to input the correct address.

I had to eventually go to another Service Ontario, outside of Milton, to finally get my renewed documents a month later - but a WHOLE 9 MONTHS LATER AFTER MY FIRST VISIT AT MILTON.

The funny thing is, on my 2nd return to renew my temporary documents, they were giving me a hard time for not having the expired physical license (even though I had the paper one) and were demanding the renewal fee again lol. Luckily, I went back and found it, but it honestly is bullshit.

I guess, this is an Ontario problem as a whole. This entire process should be done online instead of having these useless centers with incompetent staff all across Ontario. This province is decades behind the rest of the world and it's not even funny, embrace the future, because if we don't we will be left behind - which we already are. The rudeness and lack of human empathy I experience at Milton's service center, make me wish we can automate these jobs and shut these service centers down - because atleast AI won't be rude and have the same amount of empathy (infact ChatGPT is kinder to me than the staff).

I was wondering if others had any similar experiences with this Service Ontario? As I saw multiple people crashing out right infront of them lol.

Edit: The cherry on top of the sh1t cake is the ridiculous wait times on a weekday, I went to the other place outside of Milton and it took half the time to see the service rep. Either way, this entire process should be done online anyways - we don't need these service centers and taxpayers can save money instead of having to talk to a bunch of "human" drones at these service centers.

Complaint Child Abuser - Mill Pond Trail

Today at 12:20 pm I witnessed a lady with 2 other adult women walking 2 children on the Mill Pond trail abusing a young boy. She started off by spanking the child aggressively, once she was finished spanking the child she wound up and smacked him in the back of the head, then screamed at the kid "your a very stupid kid".

I yelled at her from across the river to stop, I was on Mill street side. I followed her and the group she was with along the Mill street side to ensure she didn't continue to beat the child. The abuser became aggressive and started yelling at me asking if I had a problem, to which I responded yes.

I called the police and provided the details. If anyone has any further information, could you please DM me or provide the police with the information, a report has been created.

Description: female, white, long brown hair, black sweater, Grey sweatpants with print on the back, little blue back pack, height 5'0-5'5, age 18-25.

She was with 2 other adult females, both looked older than the abuser and were both wearing red shirts. They did nothing to stop this girl and in my opinion just as guilty.

The reason I'm writing this is to get more information for the police and to warn other parents, I have no idea if this is a childcare situation or if these people were related. I know if it was my kid, I'd want someone to mention it.

Thank you,

Complaint Thoughts on LPR in Milton?

Post image
25 Upvotes

Cash grab. I can’t think of a lower more shameful job in Milton than the parking enforcement workers. It’s just enforcement for unnecessary bylaws that solve fake problems while not fixing the real issues in Milton. As someone who was born and raised in Milton it’s sad to see the town turn sour and neglect logic for profit. They send you a ticket a week later, and charge you $40 for the ticket plus $10 for the mailing fee. They don’t notify you that you have the ticket until you get it, again a week later, which is unnecessary and unfair, it’s just makes someone feel even worse about getting a parking ticket because there’s a slight chance they never even came around by you won’t know until you get a ticket or not. Of course in logical situations parking enforcement matters, but in suburb streets it’s just completely predatory and useless.

Complaint I'm seriously disappointed in Milton rn

I think we can all agree Milton needs more options for food. Yeah, we got the basic fast food, shawarma joints, burritos, sushi, some bbq places, boba, pizza and such, so majority chains. But there was a missed opportunity here: Gongcha / Arirang (2 in 1 bubble tea and corndog place) on Main street shutdown recently (it was good, and unique with the many flavoured corn dogs, so I'm not sure why they shut down). Anyway, and what opened after? ANOTHER WEED DISPENSARY, smh🤦‍♂️. That makes it the TENTH cannabis storefront in Milton, I really didn't think there could be more. Like that's more than the 7 types of food options I listed 😭. I dunno, I woulda loved to see a Cinnabon there. What do you guys think?

Complaint We have to take notes from the french and protest against tim hortons.

For the past few years i’ve been vehemently trying to combat the dumb racist you people who blame indian’s for the decline of jobs and food quality at tim Hortons but my god am I so tired. I don’t drink coffee due to me just hating how it tasted, so I usually drink lemonade, the refreshers, or hot chocolate and probably around 85%-90% of the drinks that are made are wrong, watered down or taste like shit. the literal only time I had one that tasted good was when my friends made it while on shift. I feel like this decline is really spreading this racist wave and it’s so disappointing. I remember the first time I ever tried the grilled cheese, it was like literally magic in 2014. now? my friend literally refused to sell it to me because she knew I wouldn’t like it/get disappointed. It honestly feels like the costumer service is also terrible. obviously there are special workers who make amazing drinks and make you laugh, but they are very rare. I get how tiring working is, but sometimes the behaviour is borderline rude. I don’t know if i’m just an entitled gen z, but i’d honestly rather someone make a fire drink and call me an idiot than be eh and make a horrible drink. anyways this was my rant. Honestly I don’t even care about the costumer service, but if you work at tim hortons, just please make good food.

Complaint Disregard of old Milton character

Hi all, There's a new development proposed for an 18 story building in old Milton.

The proposal is for it to stretch from Main to Pearl, and Bruce to Prince. Right beside existing residential homes in a tight area, without the appropriate infrastructure.

The proposal suggests to amend the plan to a low/mid-rise that is much more suited to the area and current builds.

Check out the petition and please sign if you're on board: https://c.org/SS2QWgDQKJ

Here to join the complaints about these stupid speed bumps popping up everywhere in Milton. Martin st was annoying enough, now Campbell ave is ruined too.

Thanks to all the Honda shitbox edition drivers that had to zip around at double the speed limit all hours of the night to necessitate these “traffic calming measures”

Complaint Hydro outages

Has anyone experienced more recent outages. They bumped up our electricity prices and now the electricity outages are becoming a lot more common. I live on the Tremaine side of Milton and this is absolutely ridiculous.
Is there something we can do about it?

Complaint Black Tesla almost hits 2 pedestrians

WARNING/TL:DR - If you’re crossing around the evening at Derry Rd W and Trudeau Dr, theres probably a 20-30% you’ll almost get hit by a car so be careful crossing there

Istg everytime I’m walking on the crosswalk, somehow impatient asshole turns and brakes 3 meters in front of me, happened twice with a Tesla driver and once with a Mercedes driver

Literally 10mins ago (11:40pm) I was crossing with another dude and noticed a black Tesla on the turning lane with no signal but I didn’t know they were on the turning lane bc they didn’t turn their signal on. We cross once the light turns green and this fucking asshole turns and nearly hits me and the other pedestrian before braking right in front of us!!! I gave him a mean look and he genuinely looked so unbothered.

Why are we playing house music at 200 dB(A), 9 in the morning, at a small town farmer’s market?

Cannot hear myself talk when getting breakfast in Grill Daddy.

This isn’t Hess village. SO inconsiderate to the ambiance of Milton. Someone get this out of here!

Complaint Noise from planes flying overhead

I recently moved to the Britannia/Tremaine area and some nights (like tonight) I can hear planes from the burlington airport flying constantly. It is pretty loud and keeps me up, and moving into summer where the weather is nicer I'm assuming this will only be more common. I get this is expected if you live near an airport like pearson, but are there any noise restrictions in place or can they literally fly any time they want? I thought by like 11pm flying so close to neighbourhoods it would stop but I guess not.

Complaint To the Trash-Throwing Jerk in the Black Audi This Morning

This morning, between 8:15 and 8:30, while driving near Main and Sinclair Blvd, I saw an absolute ass*ole throw trash out of his car — right outside Good Vibes Vapour.  He was in a black Audi sedan.

I honked at him when I saw him litter, and instead of owning up, he switched lanes. I pulled up next to him to confront him, and he just started shouting, “What are you going to do about it??”

Well, if you’re somehow reading this — let me add to what I already told you: you are truly an ass*ole of the highest order. It was pretty clear you weren’t raised right. Out here, not everyone is going to tolerate your kind of behaviour. I genuinely wish I’d caught your license plate number so I could report you.

Complaint If you set up Autopay to pay for property tax, they will charge your account even if you have paid off the bill manually a week early + charge NSF fee of $50

I set up Autopay years ago in case I forget to pay the property tax on time. But my preference is to pay using Canadian Tire Master Card (which somehow allow pay bill despite being credit card). So I usually pay the property tax a week early, with the autopay as back up in case I forgot.

This arrangement has worked just fine (including Feb and April this year) until last month. There's never autopay charge as long as the Canadian Tire MC payment set up.

I paid the property tax bill a week early last month, but then I got sent a letter stating that the Town still tried to pull the full amount of my bill due on June 30, and because the bank account didn't have sufficient amount, the autopay failed and they're charging me $50 NSF penalty.

I called the Town and they said that they switched to a new system that doesn't recalculate balance remaining as often, and will still do autopay as long as there's balance remaining in the total bill (namely the 2nd installment due September 29). This means that they're charging June bill twice, though it'll be credited against September bill had the autopay gone through (ie they'd make me pay the September bill 3 months early).

They also said because the Town got charged NSF by my bank, they won't reverse the $50 NSF penalty despite it's their fault to charge the bank despite no balance is due.

Complaint Regional Rd 25 Lane Reductions

Does anyone know why the construction site between Britannia and Louis St Laurent on Regional rd 25 has reduced both sides of the road down to one lane? I don’t see any construction on or close to the road so I don’t really see why it’s necessary to reduce the lanes and create a backup of traffic every morning.
