CEO details major investment at Metroplex's new commercial airport

McKinney's commercial aviation plans are attracting business attention as the city considers the airport's future role in North Texas.

A commercial airport serving the northern suburbs could influence regional travel options, business activity, and transportation patterns across the Metroplex.

For residents in McKinney, Frisco, Allen, and nearby communities, would a more accessible commercial airport be useful for your travel needs? What concerns would you have about noise, traffic, or surrounding development?

Recent (positive) experience I had with a local plumbing company..

Last Friday I noticed my 20-year-old water heater was having issues. I suspected the recirculating pump. I called this company, and a few other local companies. The one I ended up working with was available same-day, so I ultimately went with them. I told them beforehand that I was looking for a recirculating pump with the full explanation as to why I wanted to go that route. I was OPEN to being corrected after inspection but no way in hell would I trust it at first. Whenever someone gives you a replacement quote, try to get multiple. And if you have a family member who knows things it can be helpful to have an advocate in your corner.

He showed up on time and was a nice guy. I do own a big house, so contractors usually see dollar signs. Lowest quote was for replacing the recirculating pump which is exactly what I asked for (w/ added warranty), one was for replacing with new tank water heater, last choice was going tankless. Once again, my water heater is 20 years old, so I don't feel like the replacement options were scammy at all to mention. When I went with just the recirculating pump there was no sigh, nothing to make me feel less than. Got that part swapped out right away and water is flowing perfectly to temperature must faster.

Basically, they did what they said they would do. I do not feel like I was overcharged, lied to, or pressured. Better than when I lived in FL. TX hospitality is nice

Visiting Melissa/McKinney, TX for 15–20 days — looking for daily pickleball open play!

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m staying in Melissa, TX (near McKinney) and looking to play pickleball almost daily for the next 15–20 days.
I’ll be coming alone, so I’m particularly interested in:
Free or affordable open play where I can join without a partner.
Indoor clubs offering short-term memberships or affordable drop-in sessions.
Competitive players or groups I could join for regular practice.
Recommendations around Melissa, McKinney, Allen, Frisco, or nearby areas.

One more question about The Picklr: I noticed they offer a $30 trial for 15 days, but apparently it’s restricted to local residents. Since I’m visiting as a tourist and staying with a local friend, is there any way to qualify for the trial? Has anyone had experience with this?
My main goal is to get quality practice and competitive games without spending hundreds of dollars on a membership I’ll only use for a few weeks.
Would really appreciate any recommendations, group invites, or connections with local players.
Thanks in advance! 🏓
