Not a magick house... a magick home.

Finally moved back into an apartment of my own again (37yo) and really wanted my place to feel like a creative sanctuary away from the outside world... someplace I could both relax in and feel inspired by.

It won't be everyone's thing, but it couldn't feel more like home to me!

Just moved last month and I need some opinions/advice on how to decor the rest of the living room

Last month I left my parents house and finally have a place I can call my won home. So far this is what I got. It is still missing some things (a coffee table in front of the sofa, some a wall decor). But my main issue is what else can I do to make more cousy.

My main issue at the moment are:
-I don't how the tv console is (too close to wall but i can't take off, otherwise I don't know where to put the vinyls)
- There is a gap between the wall and the sofa (I can't have the sofa glue to the wall, otherwise I can't see the TV)

I know that wall decor can do wonders, but what furniture do you suggest getting or feedback on how to improve my living room.

Advice Any tips to make this space look more tidy and professional without major renovations?

Since this is a rental, I’d prefer reversible changes like textured adhesive wallpaper instead of painting, or adding a chandelier instead of replacing the existing light fixture.

I live and work alone, so I prefer using this room as my main living space because it has more room and connects to an open area next door. However, I’m struggling to figure out how to make the place look more polished, especially since I plan to stay here for a while.

The last photo shows my POV during work meetings, which is probably the area that needs the most attention.

What would you change first?

So in the bedroom the tv is above the dresser . I want to get new furniture but the layout is kinda weird and I don’t really have a great idea of how to decorate.

Advice Wondering which of the two configurations works best

I was recently gifted a CRT to play my old consoles (sadly my PS2 is currently at my brother's place) and it was kind of hard finding a proper place for it in my personal space. It was positioned as it is in the first two pictures but yesterday a friend suggested changing the configuration to the third picture.

The desk can't be moved from where it is as that's where the internet cable comes from.

The brown cat house was actually besides the TV and not below the piano, I forgot to move it before taking the pictures. It will be thrown away anyway as they already have the one from the cat tree (they didn't like it and barely used it).

My happy place.

Married with two kids. This houses where I live are relatively small, ours included, so the garage at one point was converted to an additional room.

A few years ago a storm knocked down our shed, which was probably about 30 years old. This shed was all we could afford, but I’ve made it my own, built a couple platforms on either side and a small bit of amateur landscaping. It’s a poor man’s paradise.

Advice What to do to make my fireplace cover look better?

I’m looking for ideas to improve the appearance of the white rectangular panel on my fireplace without spending much money. I’m loosely considering tiling over it unless anyone has a better idea.

Thanks!

Kinda happy with this fireplace wall now

Made a few small changes around the fireplace recently. I painted the backs of the shelves blue, moved some of the decor around, and I'm trying to bring a little more color into the room without making it too busy. I also finally tried an art TV and got a Hisense recently. I really like being able to leave a painting up during the day instead of having a black screen above the fireplace.

I think I'm mostly happy with it now, but the mantel still feels a little bare. Would you add anything there or just leave it alone?

Advice F1 memorabilia exposition

Hello there! A while ago I bought a F1 car component (it's a Minardi rearwing endplate if you are curious) and since then I've been looking for a way to expose it in my living room.

I was thinking of hanging it on the wall but, since I don't want to screw it directly on the concrete, it would be nice to have something like a board on the back so I can hang the board and have the endplate screwed to it.

The point is that I don't know what color I should use for the board (grey? wood?..) or even if it's a good idea.

If you have any suggestions (even different ideas) I would love to hear you in the comments.

Cheers! :)
