No longer possible to visibly tell if its real or not. Only a matter of time until someone replies to a comment like mine with "who cares? Its still cute and made me smile"
Only the weird part is that we would be smiling at something that diesnt exist. That kid doesnt exist, the cat doesnt exist. These things are fine if its blatantly clear they arent real, like I can smile at Van Gogh getting the respect he deserved in Doctor Who because if course thats acting and of course its not real. But its weird with this stuff because if you accept it as a nice video, your brain doesnt seem to know what to do. Either, you smile, and accept its a nice video, or you dont smile and find it creepy. We dont have the option it seems to apply the same logic as with Doctor Who and Van Gogh.
Visually everything in the video makes a lot of sense. Anything I point out would be vague, and also most likely just a matter of me saying somwthing and someone else disagreeing. One thing I cannot shake, is the idea that the cat knows "how to play" hide and seek. Its a very complex cognitive task for a being that is not human. I think apes would only just barely get the concept as they do play in similar ways to us.
But yeah, its a cute and nice concept I suppose. If its real its very cute. If its not then its a tiny bit creepy just because this scene in the video presented as real with the correct poor-video-artifacts and everything never actually happened in real life.
Edit. Looked it up and it is possible for cats to comprehend hide and seek as in nature felines often like the act of "play", and their ways of playing is often rooted in hunting and stalking, so hide and seek is a very natural game for them to learn to play. They understand when an object can hide them and stuff. Which is also why the cat decided to jump out at the kid even when the kid didnt see him. Playing the game correctly but woth a slightly different accent.
