Yep. And plenty of fresh air getting under that gap beneath the front door...

You know there are places that have different climates, right? It's probably really hot and humid there considering they have tile floors everywhere and wood furniture with nothing looking plush. I know that's common in Vietnam, but idk where this is actually at.

One of our cats likes to play something like tag. It's wild how some of them pick up games.
It's worth mentioning though that he is the same cat who has learned verbal commands so he may also just be our only smart pet.

Our cat loves tag. She’ll find us and then do a little skitter to run away and take her turn.
Unfortunately, she hasn’t yet figured out that crouching in the bathtub with her ears down isn’t the hiding flex she thinks it is.

My first cat did this with my youngest, he was about three and they just got eachother. I miss those times.

Somewhere a cat is thinking “ he’ll never find me” while sitting in plain sight. Regardless, this is so cute

Playful cats are the best, ours gets playful the nanosecond she gets a smidge of extra energy (otherwise she naps the day away) and she liked playing so much she went off like a bandit to steal my baby cousin's expensive Car's toys and losing them. She was his worst opp at age 4

Nothing cuter than watching a kid and a young pet figure out each other’s body language and rules of play in real time

Sooo.... nobody's gonna comment on the lyrics?
"I want to piss my time
I love this pissed-off time!"

I play this with my bean, only downside he uses his door hiding skills to ambush the other cats 😅

No longer possible to visibly tell if its real or not. Only a matter of time until someone replies to a comment like mine with "who cares? Its still cute and made me smile"
Only the weird part is that we would be smiling at something that diesnt exist. That kid doesnt exist, the cat doesnt exist. These things are fine if its blatantly clear they arent real, like I can smile at Van Gogh getting the respect he deserved in Doctor Who because if course thats acting and of course its not real. But its weird with this stuff because if you accept it as a nice video, your brain doesnt seem to know what to do. Either, you smile, and accept its a nice video, or you dont smile and find it creepy. We dont have the option it seems to apply the same logic as with Doctor Who and Van Gogh.
Visually everything in the video makes a lot of sense. Anything I point out would be vague, and also most likely just a matter of me saying somwthing and someone else disagreeing. One thing I cannot shake, is the idea that the cat knows "how to play" hide and seek. Its a very complex cognitive task for a being that is not human. I think apes would only just barely get the concept as they do play in similar ways to us.
But yeah, its a cute and nice concept I suppose. If its real its very cute. If its not then its a tiny bit creepy just because this scene in the video presented as real with the correct poor-video-artifacts and everything never actually happened in real life.
Edit. Looked it up and it is possible for cats to comprehend hide and seek as in nature felines often like the act of "play", and their ways of playing is often rooted in hunting and stalking, so hide and seek is a very natural game for them to learn to play. They understand when an object can hide them and stuff. Which is also why the cat decided to jump out at the kid even when the kid didnt see him. Playing the game correctly but woth a slightly different accent.

... mate, absolutely nothing in this video hints at it being AI. There's nothing suspicious in the images, in the movements or in the cat's behaviour. Not only cats, but many animals are able to understand hide and seek.

The true brainrot is accusing something of being inauthentic without mentioning any indications, any evidence.
If we apply the same to you then you might as well be a bot account from Yandex swarm trying to farm karma by exploiting reddit's kneejerk reaction to anything AI

I'm not gonna touch the AI stuff, but I will say one of my cats loves hide and seek. He will hide in my closet and when I find him he makes happy noises and hides somewhere else for me to find. And he and his brother hide around corners and surprise each other all the time. Cats are great hide and seekers, that was the most believable part of the video to me

I'm gonna close the loop for you as a cat owner who knows it is possible and expected for a cat to be able to play like this.
Who cares.

They do hide behind the door whenever they like to do hide and attack from behind when playing with fellow felines.
And I am anti-AI, but this time it’s not AI, just weirdly sped up and edited.

yeah it could be AI, its hard to know. My cat does this though. I was walking up the stairs and there's a ledge on the side of the stairs at the top and he likes to stand up there and whack my head as I walk up. Always gets a good laugh from me.

Man, i am sorry. The CDS system is experiencing some issues atm. Lately been spawning cats anywhere and everywhere. So i get your concern

I don't understand why the cat hiding behind the door would be AI. Cats do that, they're ambush predators so hiding is part of play for them. When I play with my cats they deliberately choose to go to hiding spots and wait for me to move the toy past them.
I actually think the part with the door is a point towards it not being AI. Cats do really weird movements when they need to turn around in tight spaces and this cat actually does one of those by tucking it's head down and to the left when it turns around. You can see its ear pop out from being pressed against the door.

No it's not dude. Look at the shitty lighting and blurry camera. These are the telltale signs of a cheap mobile camera.
Not AI

Can cats and sometimes dogs like, not smell? It seems to be quite often during such play times they are unable to find someone they should be able to seek out by scent. Maybe "play" just makes them not want to "hunt" and go all out? I've always wondered about the behavior.
