Ive had my r57 for almost 2 years now and its been amazing, got into autocross a few months ago and it does amazing and it extremely fun. Don't mind the oil stains, it doesnt leak... anymore.

Taillights doing jazz hands during the emergency braking. Did not know that the car adjusts the windows and seats for impact during sudden braking.

2019 COuntryman S AWD

Drove car for 1.5 hours. When car stopped for five min turning the car back on there was a very loud FAN. Least sounded like a fan that ran for 20
Seconds. I also hear a ticking like a blinker.

Drove 1.5 hours. No over hearing no warning lights fan wasn’t kicked on.

Morning start heard fan for a few seconds. (I’m
Calling it a fan I don’t know. Was loud noise) not normal.

High speed don’t hear it. Drove car out it in park and the car shut down. Would not start. Pressed the start button and hear one click. What gives. What’s going on. Are they related? I need help anyone

I'm leary of the N14 of course. Avoid at all costs? I do have mechanical skills but I've never done a timing chain replacement.

I've decided to go for a MINI! I'm looking at 2012-2013 Mini Cooper or Mini Cooper S withe the N16 and N18 engines respectively I believe.

Some last advice please,

what do I go for? Do I spend a little more on the N18 Cooper S, or is reliability virtually the same and driving experience is the only difference

How customisable are they? Interior etc?

How fun are they!!

What do I check for when looking at one?

As far as im aware, the thermostat was the biggest issue was the thermostat, can I get a much more durable thermostat aftermarket?

Lastly, how do I keep it well maintained? from what I understand, mostly just keeping topped up on oil and fluids?

Hello! I was working on my radio over the weekend and I believe a wire disconnected…not sure where it connects, I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure it out. Pretty sure it has something to do with my door locks because that is currently not working. Help please!

Does anyone here do side work on Mini’s or know of a reasonably priced shop? I had mechanical insurance but they are refusing to cover it. So I now have to pay out of pocket.

As far as i can tell, my 2023 F56 is running the iD5 system. I'd like the full display version of Apple Car Play, i downloaded an app for my Android and ofc wanna use it now.

Can i upgrade from iD5 to iD6? If yes, what are the pros and cons, and most importantly, how do i even do it? Run to a workshop? Do i need an entire new display unit? Whats the cost?

Picked up the District Attorney auction car today and brought it home. The guy at the storage lot said it had been confiscated for street racing but that could be just stories. The good news is it runs and drives..at least until you take the jump box off. The A/C, power steering were not working so was fun driving it onto the trailer. I will check the harmonic damper to see if that's the culprit. The top makes a clicking sound when you try and lower it, but will wait to try and fix that after it's back up and running. Didn't get much time to mess with it as I had to return the trailer and get to work.
