I think it's pretty obvious that even after Beat Drop got nerfed, it's the better perk in 90% of scenarios and there's rarely ever a reason to take Soundwave Rider. How would you guys feel if they changed Soundwave Rider so that using an empowered soundwave reduced the cooldown of soundwave itself by one second, providing an option to undo the nerf that Lucio got hit with a few months ago and make the perk itself more versatile and useful. Would it be too overtuned? Curious about everyone's thoughts on this.

I love playing Lucio as a distraction and do some trolling, but I feel like something I need to work on is my flanking because I feel like I waste a lot of time setting up by going on some elaborate long path and I am wondering if this is even necessary most of the time? I feel like it’s almost better to just play closer with my team while still playing on the sidelines/lanes and wall riding and look for smaller flanks.

I’m still very new to Lucio and I wanted to become more effective of knowing when to heal and when to speed-
If I’m alone is the speed always better than healing?
Should I only amp when healing around team?
I feel I am overusing healing I’m usually about 80% heal/20% speed

Maybe I’m trash, maybe it’s support power creep but this season between cat, bap, doctrine, sombra and the occasional mercy flasheal. I feel like it’s impossible to secure a kill on lucio and the moment I push in thinking I can kill someone they get instantly beamed up to make health between my bursts.

For context I’m a gm lucio main who has been forced to play doctrine and cat for one simple reason, I cannot get a single win in comp on lucio. Normally I’d have a 50-60% win rate on him. Not this season, 5 games played not a single win, play any other supp and the game is instantly easy. Lucio feels so left behind in the current state of the game, cat and sombra do everything I could dream of doing with half the effort.

What do you guys think? Is Lucio bad this season or am I overreacting too much?

The title basically sums it up. I'm a 700hr+ grandmaster Lucio main who was absolutely in love with Overwatch. On Jetpack Cat's release, I assumed there would be some balancing issues, but I never thought it would be this bad. I'm an ex faceit masters player who adores competing in Overwatch, who now just rides the bench bc the other main support we have is better than me at Jetpack Cat. It feels like the game has just evolved completely past Lucio simply because of Cat existing. The hero feels like everything I want lucio to be, just better. She has the agility and kill potential to assist in dives and escape with her life, solo kill dps and FS's, and just does everything better. It's been miserable since her release. I'm honestly considering quitting the game. I just cannot see how Jetpack Cat can physically fit in this game competitively. I used to love playing main support competitively and now I either can't or just don't enjoy myself when doing so. Wuyang, Illari, Mizuki and Brig are all heroes I loved playing alongside Lucio, but Cat seriously just feels like an unethical dishonest hero. It's made playing the game not fun, and I can't even say that I love overwatch anymore because the truth is I don't. I hate every second I spend playing this game competitively when Jetpack Cat isn't banned, and whoopty doo that's only allowed once per match bc of faceit rules. I rarely even get to play maps on my team because we just roll on the cat comp and the mentality (which is fair, I'm not upset with my team at all) is just "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", so Cat almost never sees a ban at least from us.

I'm making this post just to vent about a lot of this, but I also want to see if any fellow Lucio lovers feel the same about the game right now. Thanks for listening.

Hi! I posted the other day about something else but I'm posting now about rollouts. I was wondering if there are videos for learning rollouts or maps? I looked it up but I keep getting the same Lijiang Tower one. I am asking because I'm having alot if fun in Lucio and want to dedicate time to him!

I know about the boot combo with the melee but I assumed that was only for one shooting a squishy. I was watching some frogger gameplay and he is using the quick melee all the time. I watched another high rank player and he said to shoot boop shoot melee for higher health hero’s. But should I be using it more?

wasn’t sure if it was the exact same amount of momentum lost whenever you B hop on the ground with heals or speed.
