As the title says, reddit's default spam filter is automatically removing comments with a shortened link.
This bears mentioning since product recommendations are commonplace in a lighting focused subreddit.
We can go through and manually approve these comments, but we won't always catch them.
Therefore, please ensure if you post a product link, it is a full weblink, and not a shortened link. For example:

I’m hoping someone might be able to offer me advice on whether I could put a light shade on this style of fitting or not! 😅

My light fixture broke and I’ve never seen this before. How do I fix it?

Hi, We are doing a complete bathroom remodel, and have removed our exterior window and added a quite large skylight. Our architect is suggesting a circular flush-mounted fixture in the skylight shaft to light up the hole at night, but I am curious if there are other ideas or options... Worried that we are skipping the trim/shade for aesthetics that to add a fixture would spoil this clean effect in daylight? Has anyone added recessed can fixture in the skylight? How complicated are LED strips? Thanks for any advice :)

Hi folks! We're thinking about redoing our kitchen and in the course of doing some initial research I ran across an illustrated guide from a guy named David Warfel. His recommendations look good to me, but this is outside of my area of expertise and I have no way of determining whether he knows what he's talking about and I'd love an expert's opinion about whether the guide seems trustworthy. Or, alternatively, if anyone else has a guide they can point me to from someone else I would greatly appreciate it. What I found is from 2018, so at least I know it's not AI.
I've attached all the images but am also including the link below. Also just to say it out loud, I have no connection to this guy and have never seen his work before, so this isn't a backhanded way of promoting a specific person's work.

Been messing with the lighting in my living room for about 8 months now.
Got some helpful guidance from this group on creating a custom 3-light string setup for the Akari H-style hanging lamp.
All lamps on Lutron dimmers, mostly incandescent lighting. Dim-to-warm style for the few LEDs.
Still need to deal with the overhead boob lights. Not sure if I should keep it simple or do a short pendant by the window and something else by the painting. Boob lights are on the same Lutron Diva dimmer wall switch. Would prefer an incandescent solution, since I prefer low-end performance and going for a dim-to-warm setup. Idea would really be not to use the overheads, or if used, at a very low level to slightly glow. But shadows and dark spots in the room are important to me.
What would you all do?

My wife bought this used lamp and I'm a bit stumped on how to mount a lampshade. What hardware should I install?

Sanity check: I’m planning to use a $199 EMITEVER 288W / 24V driver with 3 × 96W Class 2 outputs.
I’d run two 16 ft BTF strips, each ≤75W, one strip per output, leaving the third output for future 24V lighting.
Two questions:
Does that correctly keep each run within Class 2?
Is this overkill at $199, or is there a cheaper high-quality topology that still gives me Class 2, good dimming, and room to expand?

I’m building a new house and installing open tread stairs with Glass Railing. The single metal spine of the stairs was custom built on site as well as the 4 inch white oak threats. Does anyone have a recommendation of lighting kits that would work for this application. I’m looking for dimmable LEDs on each and every tread on the bottom side. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you.

I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and wanted to know, how do you install a light strip that is flush with the ceiling?
I have a sloped ceiling and wanted it to run along the edge that the shower is on.

Hi all, I'm looking at the Penta Glo suspension lamps and possibly ordering to Canada. Any one have any experience ordering from them? Any pros and cons I should be aware of? TIA!

So I just got a vintage dining light. I dont have any wiring above the table, but I figured that I could use rechargeable lughtbulbs in the fixture so I wouldnt have to hardwire. The only problem is, I want 2700k Soft White, and I cant find any truly rechargeable bulbs that have that! The closest I've found have a "backup battery", but still need an outlet with power for charging. Are there any rechargeable bulbs you all know of that can give me the look I want, or will I need to rework my wiring plan?

Recently I installed 4 LED light panels (2'x4') in an existing drop ceiling. after wiring them up properly, I got a big surprise when I flipped the breaker back on. On of the four had the LED string running across the panel like a string of pearls. Is this fixable in situ? Is the panel faulty?

Hey everyone! I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on this lamp design.
It has a dark walnut-style finish, warm ambient lighting, a built-in phone stand, and a tissue holder. I’m curious whether this kind of all-in-one design feels practical or a bit over the top.
