Metal Detector?
I lost a sterling silver ring while out in a field. This is a hopeless task but if anyone has a metal detector, or can recommend where to rent one, please let me know.

Just wanted to warn anyone in Lafayette who’s currently looking for a place to rent.
I came across a TikTok listing advertising a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Lafayette for $500 a month, including utilities. The account was under the name “Henry” and listed the phone number [786-795-8740](tel:786-795-8740).
I contacted the person because I was interested in the property. They told me there was a $500 deposit and an $80 application fee. Everything seemed fine until I asked for the actual address of the house.
They refused to give me the address and claimed I wouldn’t be told where the property was located until AFTER I completed the application process and received an approval letter.
I’m sorry, but I’m not paying $80 to apply for a house when I don’t even know where it is. This might be my first time renting, but it’s not my first time being on Earth lol.
The whole interaction had multiple red flags, especially how they kept pushing me to start the application instead of providing basic information about the property.
I’ve already submitted a fraud report to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
I’m posting this because housing is already expensive enough without people potentially taking advantage of those looking for affordable places to live.
If you see this listing or anything similar, please be careful. Verify the property’s address, confirm who actually owns or manages it, and don’t send money before making sure it’s legitimate.
I’ll attach screenshots of the listing and conversation so people know what to look out for.

My fiance is a student at Purdue and we're currently doing long distance (across countries).
I'm planning to move to West Lafayette next summer after we get married and he's basically the only person I will know once I move there.
I'll be coming as a dependent so making friends through work or enrolling at the uni is moot.
I was wondering if there are any local hangs/ places or ways I can make friends with the locals so I would have people to hang out with other than him.
Any suggestions would be great!

Has anyone else noticed a decline in the broth quality at KPot recently?
Especially the Healthy Herb broth. It used to be white, creamy, and really flavorful, but now it's almost completely clear and tastes pretty bland.
I remember it being significantly better before. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just imagining things?

Not mine but my father in laws. All I know is it's a 1995 Kawasaki ZG1000 Concours. Just been sitting in a shed for 4 years so new battery likely needed. It's a bit of a fixer upper so only $600

Hi everyone! I’m helping organize Pink & Mo: A Night for Awareness at Rat Pak Venue in downtown Lafayette on Saturday, November 7 from 6–10 PM.
The event will support breast cancer awareness and men’s health awareness, with proceeds benefiting Community Cancer Network, which helps local cancer patients and their families.
We’re currently looking for local vendors who would like to set up during the event.
Vendor details:
The event will also include a DJ, drinks, signature cocktails, a silent auction, awareness/resources, and other fundraising activities.
If you’re interested in being a vendor, please message me or email [info@ratpakdjs.com](mailto:info@ratpakdjs.com) for details.
And please keep the comments kind, respectful, and on topic. This post is simply to connect with local vendors who may be interested in participating in a community fundraiser. Thank you!

Back for week three... I think? Thanks for the suggestions and conversations so far. The goal is simple: help people know what’s happening, find places they like, and meet people they can make their own plans with. Its not an extensive list, and there are more on our website at setandsignal.com/dates that we will likely post about later this week. :)
I’m David with Set & Signal. Our events are marked below; everything else belongs to other organizers who are helping make Lafayette a vibrant place to be!
HELP OUT & MEET PEOPLE
Two ongoing options if you’d rather do something alongside people:
These are ongoing opportunities, not confirmed openings for a particular day. Help your community out and put in those volunteer hours!
COMEDY
MUSIC & THEATRE
TRY SOMETHING — OR JUST WATCH
What did I miss this week? Drop a date and link below. And if you tried something from last week’s list, how was it?

I'm used to going to Half Price Books in Indy, but was curious if there was a good one in town?

Hey, I moved a few weeks ago to here and came from a smaller town, that wasn't as trans friendly or anything and was wondering what is there here to do trans friendly in general.
I know this is such a dumb post to make but its honestly just I'm like hyper shy, and honestly I don't know its just trying to make new friends and things. Only 22 years old; don't go to college anymore, just work all the time, so ya know.
Oh, and also any places here y'all suggest or think are worth visiting

Hi everyone!
I am looking for venues that may be able to host an election watch party for a group of around 20+ people. Preferably in IN State House District 13. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I just heard a parade of sirens coming from what sounded like the east side of Lafayette going through close to downtown to the west side of Lafayette. Does anybody know what the hell's going on?

For anyone who hasn't heard about our grassroots campaign yet, Our State, Our Bat is a citizen led effort to designate our incredible native Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official state mammal! 🦇💚
What started as a simple idea has grown into an amazing statewide movement. Thanks to community members stepping up, we’ve already secured official municipal support, organizational backing, and best of all, a state representative who is officially authoring the bill for the upcoming 2027 legislative session!
Now, we are in the final home stretch. Our petition is currently sitting at 4,231 signatures, and our goal is to hit 5,000 by the end of this month when the campaign concludes, so we can prep our complete legislative packet.
We need all the support we can get from our local neighbors to cross that finish line. If you haven't signed yet, please take a quick second to add your name, and help us spread the word to your friends, family, and local groups.
Let’s make our little Hoosier Heroes official, Indiana! Sign the petition here: https://c.org/JrdDXNvVh8

I just ordered an electric drum kit so I can start learning to play. I was wondering if anyone had a drum throne they're looking to either donate or sell for a decent price?
