LSE Law and Anthropology - Questions for Current Students or Graduates

I’ve been really interested in LSE’s Law and Anthropology course as I am applying for law however I enjoy the more flexible aspect of Anthropology. However I’m curious to know what the experience actually studying the course is. For example, I am curious about:
• Was the law teaching slightly unfulfilled (as it is not as extensive as a standard LLB)?
• How interesting is the topic of anthropology (I haven’t previously studied it)?
• How is the social life with a joint honors course? Not only with those who do straight law and social anthropology but also those within the course (as there aren’t that many students)
• Any professional experiences with the degree

Overall, I would love any current students or graduates to share anything about their experience in this course!

Leaving London early during MSc — Student visa implications?

Hey everyone!

I’m currently doing a one-year MSc at LSE (2026/27), and I’m considering moving back home around April, once I’ve completed all my in-person academic commitments and essay submissions.

I’d still be enrolled and complete my dissertation remotely, ideally with departmental approval. My main reason is financial, as staying in London for several additional months without needing to attend campus seems like an unnecessary expense.

Has anyone done something similar? Specifically, did LSE allow you to leave early without withdrawing your Student visa sponsorship?

I’ve already contacted the visa team, but I’d appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience with this!

Am I cooked?

I applied to LSE Econ, LSE Finance, Cambridge Econ, Imperial EFDS and UCL Econ. I have a 45/45 IB predicted (Econ, Math AA and Physics at HL), recs from my econ and maths teachers, who have both taught me for 4+ yrs now, and a pretty good PS (lots of stuff I've done is related to econ/maths). I thought this put me in a pretty good position, but I got cooked on the TMUA today (expecting a 5-6+), and I was wondering if this means I have no chance for my unis. Just to clarify, I didn't apply to any safety's because I am international, so my safety's are Bocconi, SSE and HSG in Europe.

Should I apply Econ + DS as second choice

For reference, I have a 41 predicted IB and I'm applying LSE econ. I sat the tmua today, but I got a little cooked (paper 1, ifykyk), and I'm now expecting a 5-6. I've been thinking about whether I should consider Econ + DS as a second choice, as my PS does have some relevance to data/stats applied to economics–though I would probably have to modify it to create a more equal split between econ and ds, so idk. What do you guys think? Is it worth modifying my econ PS slightly to fit econ + ds?

applying to bsc econ + econ history

Hi everyone, I’m was planning on applying to e+eh this year however my predicteds are only a*aaa in econ, maths, further maths and physics . I’m also doing the tmua, but I know that’s not relevant to this course .

Do you think there is any point applying and wasting a spot on my ucas because of my A in maths. I know I meet the entry requirement but I’m guessing everyone applying has an A* so would I not be considered competitive anymore?

Any advice would be appreciated, Thank you!!
