Hey r/JEE,
A quick update on The Peer Project - the free, student-run peer mentoring initiative we shared here recently.
Batch 1 of our first cohort is up and running.
We have set up mentoring channels matching class 11, class 12, and dropper students with senior mentors who cleared the exam and are currently in college. The focus is purely on strategy, time management, clearing backlogs, and consistency - mentors won't solve homework, but they will help structure the daily stuff better.
Since we received a lot of applications, we're staggering the rollout into three batches (Batch 1 today, Batch 2 on July 22nd, and Batch 3 on August 1st) to ensure every match is hand-picked. If you applied, we will update you as soon as your match is ready.
For those curious, we made our cohort guidelines public:
We really appreciate the support and applications from this sub. Good luck to everyone with their prep today!

Just attempted a JEE Main mock on Quizzr and scored 137/300, with a predicted percentile of 96.90.
My Physics score was 56/100, Chemistry was 33/100, and Maths was 48/100. I attempted 43 out of 75 questions with an accuracy of 83.72%.
I'm fairly satisfied with my accuracy, but I feel I could improve my overall score, especially in Chemistry. My goal is to push my performance into the 98ā99 percentile range.
For those who have appeared for JEE Main, how would you rate this performance? Should I focus more on increasing attempts, improving accuracy, or strengthening weaker chapters?
Would appreciate some honest advice from people who have been through this!

Heyy whatās up everyone hope yāall are doing fine
Iām a JEE dropper who started serious prep around August-September after wasting half of 11th and almost my entire 12th. And honestly taking a drop year was probably one of the most fucked up decisions of my life. Idk if Iāll regret saying this later but whatever man
Academically things are going pretty good. Iāve completed a decent amount of the syllabus and Iām solving questions too. But apart from studies life is just too fucked up rn. Like Iām not even kidding itās getting so hard to just exist here
I live in a tier 3 city in Uttarakhand and thereās literally nothing to do here. I used to roam around with my friends in the evening and at night. Just random walks and stupid convos about literally anything. Laughing at the dumbest shit possible and coming home late. Back then it felt so normal but now I miss those moments so fucking much
But now everyoneās gone. Almost all my friends have moved to colleges and are enjoying their lives. Garba nights trips relationships new friends and all that shit. And here I am sitting in the same room preparing for an exam while watching everyone else move forward
Iām genuinely happy for them but fuck man the FOMO is unreal sometimes
I dont even have a single person here whom I can call and ask to go outside with me. No one to roam around the city with and no one to randomly meet in the evening. I barely talk to anyone these days. I talk to my mom when I need food and my dad when I need money and thatās pretty much it. I dont even talk to my brother like I used to
Itās weird how you can live in a house full of people and still feel so fucking alone
Sometimes I just sit alone on Discord. I have two friends there whom I talk to at night for an hour or two. And ngl sometimes I feel like Iām annoying them or maybe talking too much. But theyāre literally the only people who are holding me up rn. Those late night convos make me feel a little better before sleeping. After spending the entire day barely talking to anyone itās nice to have someone to talk to for a while.
My days have become so monotonous. Wake up study maybe go for a ride around the mountains come back home sit in my room scroll through my phone and sleep. Then repeat the same shit the next day
And itās been like this for the past 8-9 months
And bro Instagram is a whole different level of fuckery. If you wanna do something in life just delete that app or atleast stop scrolling all day. Iām serious bc everytime I open it I see people building their lives. Some are modelling some are travelling some are earning money and some are just out there enjoying their lives
Even people I know are doing things for themselves and Iām happy for them but at the same time it makes me question wtf am I even doing
I used to do freelancing and editing too. I had a meme page and even managed to get some clients. I thought I could build something of my own and earn money independently. But now even that has slowed down. My bank account literally has 3 rupees in it lmao. I can ask my parents for money and thankfully my familyās financial situation is fine but itās not about that. I just wanted to earn something on my own and feel like Iām actually doing something with my life
I have so many interests and so many things I wanna try but I cant focus on anything without feeling guilty about something else. If I study I feel like Iām missing out on my youth. If I do something else I feel guilty for not studying. And if I do neither I just waste my whole day feeling like shit
Iām turning 18 soon and honestly I feel sorry for that little boy who thought heād achieve so much by this age. When I was younger I thought by 18 Iād be independent confident and doing something meaningful with my life
Instead Iām sitting in my room wondering what the fuck Iām even doing
I dont feel confident anymore either. Sometimes I struggle to speak fluently and I feel awkward expressing myself. Idk if itās bc Iāve been isolated for so long or if Iām just overthinking everything. Even the way I look at myself has changed. I dont feel attractive or interesting anymore. I just feel like Iām existing for the sake of it
And the worst part is that studies are actually going fine. Iām trying my best and I wanna do well in JEE but mentally Iām just tired of this routine. People say droppers should study 10-12 hours a day and keep grinding but how tf are you supposed to focus for that long when your entire life outside those books feels empty
JEE is around three months away and college is probably another 6-9 months away. And Iām not even sure which college Iāll end up in. Just thinking about how much time is still left makes me feel weird. Like how am I supposed to spend all these months alone doing the same shit everyday
Sometimes I wonder if taking a drop was even worth it. I wanna crack this exam but I dont want my entire life to become studying sleeping scrolling feeling guilty and repeating the same shit
And my 18th birthday is coming up too. A part of me wants to be happy about it but another part of me keeps thinking about everything I thought Iād achieve by this age. I genuinely hope I dont end up crying on my own birthday bc that would be so fucking sad lmao.. š
Idk why Iām writing all this maybe I just needed to let it out somewhere. Maybe I just wanna talk to people who understand this
Not asking about mock scores or syllabus completion. I wanna know how youāre actually doing mentally. Do you also miss your old life? Do you ever feel jealous of your friends even when youāre happy for them? Do you ever feel like youāre sacrificing your youth for an exam while not even enjoying the life youāre living rn?
Iām not looking for some motivational speech about how everything happens for a reason. I just wanna have some real convos with people who get it
If youāre going through something similar then please share your story. Even if you havenāt figured anything out yet itās fine
Bc honestly Iām trying my best with ts exam but smth is goin wrong ..
Doess anyone feels the same , feel free to share up gyzz,

How much should I target to get NIT Durgapur Cse in January attempt.
My home state NIT is NIT DURGAPUR.
General ews Male but I'm not sure that will I get ews verified or not because my family fulfills all the requirements for ews certification but we live in a flat so my ews certificate might get cancelled.
Income below 8 lakhs and that area of land criteria is also under the given limit
How much percentile and marks should I target as I'm gonna start testing now

Hey everyone,
before I explain my situation, I wanna make sure yall know about my goals, limitations and why I am considering such a big decisionā¦
if you could spare a bit of time pls read it fully and drop some advice or criticism or whatever u like š
Background-
Iāam a Btech CSE student at a tier-3 college in Delhi. I was already a Dropper before joining and taking another drop would make me a 2nd dropper.
honestly, I am not quite satisfied with my clg, I feel that the environment, opportunities, and the resources available here might not be sufficient for the kind of growth Iām looking for.
yes, ik ikā¦. I should have moved on with my life and should do best of what is already given to me, so for that same reason I decided to give this college a time period to see if things did actually work out for me or not⦠and its been 2 months already and ik for sure this clg aint for me
Before I get into the JEE part, I wanna let yall know something about me- I had less than 75% in class 12th CBSE. I am fully aware of the fact that due to the boards criteria and me being a 2nd dropper I cant get into IIT/NITs and most of the elite premier institutes.
I donāt wanna settle for a tier-2/3 institute again after a 2nd drop, because being a 2nd dropper comes with its own cons that is- Placement issues
So, it is kinda mandatory for me to join a tier-1 institute otherwise I wont end up in a significantly better position than I am right now.
there is no way I can get into IIT/NIT or some other elite tier-1 institutes, so why am I preparing again
the thing is since I am from Delhi I can target DTU/NSUT at a much safer %ile criteriaā¦
and frankly speaking that is the only safety net I haveā¦. ā¹
I am not assuming admission will be easy, nor am I treating DTU/NSUT as guaranteed backups. I am trying to figure out whether another attempt would make sense or not?
well why did I fail before?
I was caught up in a prolonged chronic medical issue starting class 12th and is still dragging till this day, back then I wasnāt in good physical or mental state to prepare properly⦠I still am not but I can manage my condition a bit better than before.
Interestingly, the attendance at my clg is quite relaxed and I get some free time for myself more than what I got when I was in school.
I want yall to please advise and guide me on these things-
1) Given my circumstances, should preparing for JEE make sense targeting DTU/NSUT?
2) or should I just stay in my current clg and focus on coding, projects, internships, and off-campus opportunities which I think wont get me far considering the situation of my clgā¦.?
3) finally, tell me how do I prepare for ts again⦠starting with maths I have previous PW paid batches that I bought back in the dayā¦
I am not asking anyone to validate my decision blindly, I want genuine help regarding this calculated risk or mistake that I am trying to justifyā¦
I donāt want to make the post too big so feel free to ask me about my current situation, previous performance, medical situation or anything that might help you or meā¦
~thanks <3
TL;DR: Unhappy with my current college, considering a partial drop for DTU/NSUT despite being a double dropper with less than 75% in boards. Is it worth the risk, and how do I restart JEE prep, especially Maths?

Day 2 update:
I'm using Marks to solve JEE Main PYQs, currently focusing on Physics. I'm tracking my mistakes and trying to improve my speed and accuracy instead of blindly chasing question counts.
Tomorrow's plan is to start including Chemistry and Maths as well, with one chapter from each subject.
The goal is to gradually increase my daily question count and build consistency across all three subjects.
We'll improve. See you tomorrow, guys. š«”
