Question - General Non App Related Stairs. What do you do when there's stairs with a big grocery order?
In my area there is a ton of triplexes with only fire fire escape style stairs and no elevators. With some of these orders being 30 plus items with Waters, I've been disregarding the customer's notes to leave at the door and leaving at the bottom of the stairs. I recently pulled a hamstring carrying Waters upstairs so I've made it my policy to text the customer saying that if they want to come down and help I'll be more than glad to to help them but only if they are there. Otherwise I'll be on the first floor.
Most customers are very polite with this request. Some coming down and just grabbing it themselves, some saying I can just leave it on the first floor. No problem. But I have had at least one now that has completely taken away the tip and don't think that's completely fair. It's not quite a disability but when I'm a worker and have a injury and this is my only source of income, I don't think this is an unreasonable request.
Any thoughts? Do you guys deliver upstairs?
