I’m Dr. Karyn Eilber. I practice at Cedars-Sinai, where I chair the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group Department of Surgery and am a Professor of Urology and Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. I’m also a certified menopause practitioner. My research focuses on female pelvic disorders and sexual function, with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. I co-authored A Woman’s Guide to Her Pelvic Floor and The Menopause Sparkle, and I’m a member of plusOne’s Wellness Collective, where I answer the community’s top questions about sexual wellness.
For Menopause Awareness Month, I’m back on the plusOne account for another Reddit AMA. There’s been a lot of news in menopause care over the past year, so bring your questions, including:
- What’s the difference between perimenopause and menopause, and how do I know which one I’m in?
- What’s changed in menopause care recently, and what does it mean for me?
- Is hormone therapy right for me? What are the real risks vs. the old fears?
- What is genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), and why does no one talk about it?
- Does sex change during menopause? What actually helps?
- What ingredients should I look for in a supplement based on my symptoms, and which ones are mostly hype?
- How do supplements fit alongside HRT?
- How do I advocate for myself when a doctor dismisses my symptoms?
- How can I support my partner through menopause?
