Portland Husker here and have family in town for the game. Was wondering if there’s a visitor tailgate lot or if anyone is looking for more to add to their party! GBR!

As soon as 2027. Not great for the sport but it’s already so far gone as it is. What do you all think?
Obviously makes it more likely that we see Nebraska in the CFP at some point in the near future.

It’ll be a long shot with the game being so late and bars closing at 2, but my wife and I will be in Boston this weekend. Any Husker bars in town to check out?

The number of tickets has increased, and prices have dropped a lot for this week's game. Is anyone changing plans to go now?
As of today, the weather report looks like rain and 50-60F at kickoff.

I don't know how to describe it. It's like someone designed it to be built as quickly and cheaply as possible, putting no thought into the aesthetics.
As someone who very much likes the imposing exterior design of east stadium, the more I look at this the more I hate it.
I know it's not a big focal point and probably the angle seen by the fewest people, but if you are already dropping a ton of cash, get something that looks good.
They could have done so much more to make it look better. Even if it's just building up a facade to hide the back side of the bleachers...
Bonus: My chatGPT renders that IMO look better.

Pretty incredible what has been accomplished at the newly renovated John Cook Arena. So incredible, it seems nearly impossible.
On September 10, they reopened the building by setting a brand-new (renovated) arena attendance record:
10,497
Apparently there’s no reason to mess with perfection.
New Mexico: 10,497
Baylor: 10,497
Georgia Tech: 10,497
North Carolina: 10,497
FGCU: 10,497
Missouri: 10,497
Rutgers: 10,497
Ohio State: 10,497
Wisconsin: 10,497
They set the arena record in the opener and have now tied the arena record eight consecutive times.
Not 10,482.
Not even 10,500 just to mix things up.
10,497. Every. Single. Time.
It’s especially impressive because before the renovation they were selling out matches all the time too, but the reported attendance still managed to vary from night to night.
Apparently the reseat fixed that. Massive success indeed.
Husker Nation, let’s tie the record again Saturday against Purdue.

What the title says: Is the Oregon game on TV? I can't find it

Hello Everyone, sorry it took me a bit to come out with part 5, took a little break off of Minecraft and I’m now back for the meantime! I’ve been working on this for the last week, and added some new stuff to get the exterior done, eventually the troughs are gonna be added, don’t worry, but imma finish with the exterior before I start on that. Got some of the locker room done, at least the path to it done, and that’s all for part 5! Let me know if there is anything you want added, or if anything might need to be fixed, and I’ll see y’all next time!

I lived in Omaha for 42 years but moved to Eugene about 5 years ago. I just wanted to give some info for Husker fans who may be coming out here for the game. Tailgating takes place near the stadium which is sort of in its own setting despite being right in the middle of town. It’ll make more sense when you get here. There will be tailgating at the Masonic and Boy Scouts parking lots as well as the soccer/baseball/football stadium lots on the south side. Duck fans are the Midwesterners of the west coast, they are friendly and fun, so it should be a great day for Husker fans. Basically Oregonians are chill with anyone who’s nice, so that sets up for a great day.
Tailgating is great but the most unique experience is walking over the river and through the woods from campus to the stadium with all the students. Best of both worlds, go tailgate during the day but find yourself back over by campus around 1-2 hours before kick and walk with the crowds over to the stadium, the vibes are high, people are playing music, and the scenery is unmatched in college football. Think Haymarket park bridge but set in nature taking you through Steve Prefontaine’s running trail.
The Cooler is a good dive bar by the stadium, and Rennie’s on campus is a great duck bar. Otherwise you’ll find bars on Franklin or Downtown. Eugene is not really a sports bar town, very unlike Omaha. But Hop Valley Brewery has a new spot in the 5th Street Market, I’ll be there during the day likely. ColdFire Brewery and Claim 52 are a few other good spots but not sure about TVs. Max’s Tavern and Jackelope are good dive bars as well. I also recommend the Pint Pot its a great, great little Irish bar with very good food. For those looking for a small brewery I recommend Falling Sky, great spot. Breakfast at Moke’s, lunch at McMinnemans High Street, North Bank or 19th Street, these are whimsical places with really tasty food and their own beer. Best breakfast burrito in town is El Jaguar by the YMCA. Best tourist attraction that isn’t a tourist attraction is the Nicholas Cage mural on the apartment building on 28th and Willamette.
During the day, go to the Saturday Market, it’s one of the longest running outdoor markets in America, rain or shine every Sat since the 1960s? It’s an absolute attack on the senses and what everyone should be trying to seek out when they go somewhere different from home. I promise you can’t get high from just smelling it in the air. A lot of old hippies moved here from San Fran in the 70’s, they are our senior citizens and they are so so great!
Hiking is elite around here. Alton Baker Park (Pre’s Trail near Autzen), Mt Pisgah, Dorothy Ranch, Spencer’s Butte and the Ridgeline Trail are the main trail areas.
This is a ton of info, hope it’s helpful for anyone coming. Look forward to having you all out here. If it does rain, we don’t use umbrellas in Eugene so you won’t need one either. Cheers and GBR!

I’m a lifelong Husker fan but the ill timed stadium renovation set against a financially vulnerable student body had me searching for other ways to donate my private dollars to make the most impact. Found this and wanted to share: https://fundraise.nufoundation.org/campaign/842612/donate. Think of how many struggling students we could actually get to graduation if we diverted even a fraction of the stadium renovation dollars.

Feel free to make fun of me by typing the words out of your head. Bond in the comment section over my cacaphony of guffaws. For real, it's fun for me, too.
------
5-1 and it doesn't feel like anything.
On one hand, you're glad to have it and you proved you can rumble with the big boys. Nobody actually thought you couldn't, it's just that the clapping they do for you on your way out of the arena doesn't feel as good when the other guy is still in the ring with his hand raised.
On the other hand, pergatory remains. Picciune teams aren't a problem. Figuring out starters isn't a problem, and neither is depth really. Facilities and funding aren't the issue. Fans definitely aren't the issue. Not anymore.
I can only speak for myself, but the glaring issue in my eyes is: Identity.
What the FUCK is it supposed to be anymore?
Nebraska Football....You're too good to be mediocre. You're too bankrolled to be average. You're too privileged to say you felt unprepared. You're too supported to say you feel like this isn't the right place for you.
I'm not breaking new ground by saying it's an identity problem. Many others have blathered the same feelings on this board straight from their hearts. You get a little bit older and wiser yourself, and suddenly some of these old folks make a bit of sense. Just a little though.
Part of being in pergatory means you don't know if you're overreacting or not, because you can see what's on the outside but can't touch it. You have to had already lived a life to get into purgatory anyway. You're stuck until you decide to start living again. That is the only option.
Perhaps this reaches past fandoms and creates more of a spark in somebody's life. Maybe I'm just a cocky douche fuck who gets off on reading his own shit, who knows.
You're stuck in pergatory until you decide to start living again.
5-1 is probably a good time to get these feelings out there right now. It still doesn't look too different from how you thought. Damn, it's exactly how you thought. Still waiting for this team to surprise you in good ways. You're happy to have problems you didn't have before, because the other problems were much more embarrassing. And the new problems remind you of that upon reflection. It's healthy to have less-stressful problems.
The older I get now, just as is, the less I remember about 2010's Nebraska Football. Those teams had no identity after the Bo Era. This isn't about Pelini. It's about the nothing that happened after those years. I know there were some excellent players, but can't remember names or faces a lot without Google or ChatGPT (it's okay to admit that, too). I watched all of those games all the same as the rest of us.
Tanner Lee? Sure. Luke McCaffrey? I guess. Keyshawn Johnson, Jr.? I remember him being here more than some of the actual games last decade.
Many of the players at many other schools right now will also only be there for a year. That's the CFB world that exists now. You don't get much time to build a legacy. Sports are too overanalyzed by year anymore for eras to commence. You get one school year to build a reputation. That rep follows you every single week, whatever it is from last week. You're either the bully or the one beats bullies. Nobody remembers the bystanders, because they aren't looking at each other come January either.
You're always going to remember 2025 James Madison sneaking into the CFP more than how good 2025 Nebraska could have been. Same as anyone else.
So you come back to your recliner on a Sunday evening and wonder what encouraging words to relay to your bestest of best friends on the Huskerville sub. Fuck encouragement. You didn't want that anyway, like the title suggested. Don't worry, you're not in trouble and neither am I. The team looks better, but it's exhausting to constantly feel like you're high-centered on that huge rock in the 90th & Center Hy-Vee parking lot that every victim gets posterized from on Facebook.
"OP, didn't you say two weeks ago you felt like this team was 'on the verge of a breakthrough'?"
Yes, I did, junior. That was before Indiana came in and did the whole Chasing 3 bit. Remember the weekly bullies and bully beaters thing earlier? That's just where we're at and still trying to get.
It's healthier to have less-stressful problems.
What ever you're going through, even if it's just this team shuffling its feet, I hope you're still holding your head up high.
GBR
