Hades 2: Art Hades Tarot deck question

• Upvotes

Hello fellow shades! 👻

I’ve been working with a artist on creating a custom, full 78-card tarot deck inspired by Hades and Hades II. (Also similar to the Arcana cards from Hades II) We've finished over half the deck so far, and as we get closer to bringing it into physical print, I wanted to get the community's thoughts on physical card sizing!

Currently weighing two options:

Standard Tarot Size (2.75 x 4.75)

Pros: Standard feel, very functional, easy to hold, shuffle, and store in regular tarot pouches/boxes.

cons: smaller ofc

Large/Oversized (3.5x 5.5 or larger)

Pros: Easier to admire the art without losing detail and more for collecting.

Cons: Harder to bridge/riffle shuffle, harder to store, and can feel a bit awkward in smaller hands.

Which card size would you personally prefer, and why?

Would you buy mostly to display/collect the artwork, or would you want to actively shuffle and use it as a tarot deck?

I'd love to hear your thoughts or any feedback you may have!

Alsooo If you're interested in checking out how the artwork is coming along, I'm happy to share some previews ^-^

Hades 1: Question If zagreus could live in the mortal realm would he?

I feel like he would, but I also feel like he has all his friends and family in the underworld so he wouldn’t. I would say he would visit but at some point in the story he says he feels out of place.

Hades 2: Question Is Hades 2 any more compelling than 1? Spoiler

Finally got around to playing Hades 1. Got my first clear and while I know there's more clears to really finish the story I just don't care about the story. I just can't. Zagreus' VA just kinda ruined it for me. Absolutely insufferable voice acting from most of the cast like him and Thanatos leaves me not wanting to experience much more of the game. I'm already skipping all dialogue of his as it is. I don't find a ton of enjoyment in fighting the same enemies and bosses I've already beaten dozens of times with weapons and aspects I've already experienced multiple times over.

Is Hades 2 any better in terms of VA, at least for the main character, and replayability? I.e. some variation in bosses etc.

Hades 1: Discussion Who do people like more Zagreus or Melonie

I just beat hades 1 and still have to unlock other weapons along with side quest and raising affinity.
But I love Zagreus as a character he was such a cool guy. I kinda want to just jump straight into playing hades 2. I played a bit and I feel like I go from playing a warrior to a mage lol 😂

Hades 2: Discussion I Started Playing HADES and I'm Lost NSFW Spoiler

Recently, I started playing Hades, and this is my first real experience with the roguelike/roguelite genre. And honestly, I'm loving the game. The gameplay is extremely satisfying, the animations are beautiful, the combat is fast-paced, and the attacks feel incredibly satisfying to pull off. I could spend a long time praising this game.

However, there's one thing that's discouraging me: I feel like I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Hahaha.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this genre. I don't really understand how builds work, which upgrades I should prioritize, or how to make the most of special attacks. Basically, I just pick whatever seems interesting and hope for the best. And that makes me worry: will I eventually reach a point where I simply can't progress because I don't know how to make proper builds? Will I need to spend hours watching videos and reading guides to learn the best combinations?

Another thing that's been bothering me is dying. I die A LOT. Sometimes to strong enemies, other times to enemies that seem pretty easy. There are moments when I'm so focused on attacking that I don't even notice where the damage is coming from. By the time I realize it, most of my health is already gone.

For context, I've beaten Cuphead, so I'm not necessarily someone who gives up on difficult games. I spent hours stuck on certain bosses, died countless times, learned their patterns, and eventually managed to beat them all. But in Cuphead, I could simply retry the same fight until I learned it. In Hades, I feel like I have to go through an entire run again, with different abilities and combinations every time.

I'd love to hear your opinions, especially from those who have gone through this beginner phase:

Is it normal to start Hades without understanding almost anything about builds?

Can you beat the game by picking boons somewhat randomly, or does understanding how different abilities work together eventually become necessary?

Did you learn naturally through playing and dying, or did you need to look up guides?

How do you deal with the frustration of losing a run after making a lot of progress?

I'd love to hear about your experiences. And please, no story spoilers!

Didn't expect to beat it on literally first try LOL, and before people asking yes I use the unseen arcana because I don't like the idea of having to rely on finding a mana gain boons in a run like this (specifically for the first area), especially with the umbral flames where mana is the main DPS source.

Hades 2: Question Can Heracles show up in chaos trials? Spoiler

I, like many others, am trying to get the epilogue and he’s all I have left. But no matter where I look I can’t seem to find an answer on if he can appear in chaos trials. Rather than surface run after surface run I’d rather just run a quick trial to try and force his appearance sooner if I can. Helped me progress the Dora and Prometheus prophecy faster doing trials as well.

Hades 1: Discussion Supergiant, please make a Switch 2 version of Hades 1 😭🙏

I’m begging you, I’m enjoying this game so much, but some textures and elements look so bad when playing on docked. Whenever I kill one of the floor bosses they explode into pixelated meshes, the menu and the bosses intros (especially the hydra) look so blurry.

Handheld boost mode sort of fixes this when playing in handheld but there’s no way to fix this when docked. Hades II probably plays wonderfully (haven’t tried it yet) so please take a page out of Teamcherry and release an updated version for your older game, you probably already have the 4k textures and I’m not sure about this, but the engine is probably the same as Hades II so potentially hopefully 120fps would also be possible??..

Love the game! Super fun, this is the one and only issue I have with it and I want to believe that it’s easily fixable.

Hades 2: Question Artemis and Melinoe's singing from a technical perspective? Spoiler

When Artemis is singing, you can have Melinoe come up and join in seamlessly. I was wondering if anyone familiar with game design could give me an ELI5 explanation of how this is accomplished. I have a vague idea that there are two song tracks, one with Melinoe and one without, but having them start playing at exactly the right moment can't be simple to do technically. Anyone know how it works?

Hades 1: Discussion Hot take:Flurry Shot

Thumbnail

Okay, now, I know what you're thinking. So to cool off your cheeks, I'm only talking about Some Zagreus and all Hera builds. Main reason for Zag is that it disables builds where you nuke enemies with one strong shot. The Hera Aspect has another problem-fixed distance. Unless you hit the enemy, the Flurry shot with your precious casts will fly to northpole while the enemies clean your shoes with your own face, whereas without it it's easier to control(especially with Explosive Shot) and release the cast at the close distance. Not to mention that it might hit a wall and waste your shot, especially if you have a debuff that doesn't let you pick up bloodstones.

It is still good for Chainshot rapid builds on Zagreus and to quickly apply the mark with Chiron aspect, and before you say that Flurry Shot is the best hammer for ALL aspects, try playing it with Hera Aspect. Besides, not like you need it much-it's like wasting ammo to one and hand reloading with the aspect of Hestia on Exagryph

Bug (report using F10 in game) Graphics Issue

Post image
1 Upvotes

To preface; I have 77 hours in this game most from early access, never had a single issue. Started a new game on full release, did not have a single issue for that playthrough. Took a long break after reaching the original ending, and every time I have tried playing it since, it has failed at the point of loading in Mel with this error.

This has apparently been a running issue though:

https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/1k8hnd7/hades_2_literally_unplayable/

https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/1r8gkkn/idk_for_what_crash_the_game/

1 year ago for the first using NVIDIA, 8 months for the second using Ryzen integrated (which I am as well) with a comment from 6 months ago suffering the same, and there's another one or two posts from reverse image searching the error.

Uninstalled and reinstalled. Files verified. Drivers updated. Minimum specs from steam and the FAQ are met. The suggestions for Hitching/Freezing from the FAQ have been followed. In-game graphics minimized with limited frame rate. No luck, and that's about as tech-literate as I am so wondering if this is an issue that is seen on the subreddit elsewhere with solutions that I'm just missing, or if this is just integrated graphics being the issue.

I suppose I can try reinstalling the drivers I used during the early access? Between that and not being able to play the game again, I might just have to tough it with the latter instead of never updating them again.
