Has anyone else experienced the unfortunate bug where your entire house and everything in it just explodes?

Yeah I had that happen a lot in G1 you had something that was supporting everything and it got broken could be a bug I’d say reset save and if it happens again put foundation under some of the floors if you can.

It's a bug. You can build something on to an existing structure, with many grounded points, then delete it and it collapses everything.

You don't even need to build, you can add the blueprint, then cancel it and it destroys everything

I believe your friend removed something structurally and it came crashing down. You can see in the back that he placed an item down and the yellow hammer appeared so he was definitely messing around.

This is definitely what happened. While it's gotten better, I've noticed a fairly consistent bug where everything turns into a load bearing structure. Meaning removing anything, will destroy everything. You can see this when you highlight it and see how much it supports and I've found simply restarting the game erases the bug.

But this exact thing happened to me multiple times

Not all spots work as support; you need to place foundations low enough to meet solid ground in more than one spot to keep things like this from happening to a structure. I try to add external details to these points of connection (they'll say that they are "supporting" when you get low enough) to protect them. The major one I could think of was my base in G1 built up a tower and on the tree. If you didn't find the right spots to anchor onto, you would have an issue where the whole building could come down if you targetted two specific floor pieces.

I never had this happen, yet

Not sure what triggers it but there is a little glitch that can happen where it is all supporting itself and removing even the smallest of things just explodes the building.

On my solo save I have only experienced this on small little bases I dotted around, but I have noticed the glitch in a multiplayer save I am in with a friend on our main structure. I am both eager to get their reaction and dreading the collapse.

The support mechanism is kinda buggy. Always check what that piece is supporting before recycling. Looks like that piece was supporting 170 something pieces.

Ours did. We just quickly went back to the last save.

Meanwhile my 100 stairs leading to the top of Billy's don't need that first step

Yup, just reload from an earlier save.

I ran into this glitch early days when trying to build a base on one of the stumps. No matter how many supports I added, I could not remove a wall or floor piece. I could have a 20x20 floor with supports that reached the ground. The moment I move one of the middle pieces, the entire thing collapsed. If I tried to move a wall the entire thing collapsed. This was the same for blueprints as well. If I placed a blueprint and then tried to cancel the build, the entire house collapsed. I would load the last save each time. I got up to Cozy lvl 3 on the stump before giving up on the entire idea completely and migrated, first to under the picnic bench, and then to the area in front of the statue.

I almost rage quit grounded 1 over that bug, built a random floor hanging off the top of a tower on a base, deleted said floor and watched as the entire base imploded.
