Please join the battle by arriving via a Thunderhawk gunship in slo-mo to turn the tide when I'm making a desperate last stand.

We all need cognitive behavioural therapy, we’re emotionally stunted enough to play Warhammer for a hobby.

I’m pretty sure he was talking about classic battle tech, the hit tabletop mech warrior game.

Pisses me off that the new armies just get twice as much cp for just playing the game while I’m over here playing gsc having to gamble on a 4+ on a unit that has to stand on an objective and win the lottery before i can have my cp for my significantly worse strats

u/RadioActiveJellyFish 12h ago
What's dumb is giving a version to every army would not be difficult at all, but hey, fuck you for not getting an early Codex.
5
u/GunnitRust_Akula 10h ago
I will never stop criticizing GW for clinging to their outdated codex system. It made sense when the only way to distribute rules was paper, but now? The codex's are out of date instantly and for some armies you're basically non playable for years.

u/Ornery_Platypus9863 11h ago
It’s even worse because I know full well it’s going to be my magus primus and patriarch, which half the time you want to bring 0 of because they suck.

u/Siftinghistory 11h ago
The rule just needs to be made that any warlord generates an extra CP per battle round when on the board.

u/DaveinOakland 12h ago
I honestly preferred the old 4+ for each unit of Gretchin on the board to the current "you have to take a Warboss" setup that Orks currently have

how can you forget when every comment section has them making it about the US
1
u/OscarOzzieOzborne21 8h ago
My mind doesn’t linger on it. Like those jokes such as “in Alabama, they do not do reverse cowgirl. Because they never turn their back on family.” I don’t think about the conditioning that made Alabama the incest state. I forget about this info as sure as the joke is made finished.
The US being ran by pedophiles is the same for me.

technically i lied and it was a federal appeals court, but the us recently declared it not illegal to ai generate illicit materials of minors, so long as they weren't "real". the judges themselves didn't even seem happy about it, but it's an excellent example of how badly ai needs regulation. also it's technically what calgar is doing in the meme

u/MyStackIsPancakes 10h ago
For context here, all a judge can do is interpret existing law. AI content generation has made situations that USED to be the kind of thing you'd use in a philosophical discussion to explore a theory (in this case "Can something be morally wrong without a victim?") something we have to explore in real law. Sadly, in the US at least, our legislature is
- Ignorant of Philosophy
- Too old to understand what's in front of them.

u/Substantial_Owl_7392 we ain't exactly called the marine benevolent 9h ago
well, part of the problem to me is that there ABSOLUTELY ARE VICTIMS. ai needs to generate based on something, and i would not be shocked if someone input genuine material. secondly, i frankly feel that the consumers themselves are a something of a victim, though that’s an entirely separate conversation about what the law can and cannot regulate. thirdly, the guy generating this material was accused of distributing it to minors and using it to entice them. that, to me, is a terrifying possibility. if CSAM becomes a widespread, easy to access material, i can only see bad results.
anyways this is probably way too much american politics for the comments section of a grimdank post, but i do think it’s interesting.

u/MyStackIsPancakes 8h ago
For the record, I'm not denying the existence of victims or downstream impacts. I'm merely stating the nature of the debate.
And yeah we're way out of bounds for the general vibe of this subreddit.

oh sorry, i didn’t mean to make it seem that way, i was talking about my problems with the judges logic.

The fact they didnt call them "Strategy points" annoys me. Since they are used on strategems
7
u/ElectricalWarning89 14h ago
Lets change the name to "Strategic Advantages" to match the use of stratagems as thematic boosts for units.
3
u/Alive-Ad-3303 Erebus did nothing wrong 10h ago
We should call them “Big Decisive Strategic Maneuvers”.

u/AlphariousFox 11h ago
Thats even better "strategic advantage points" or SAP which rolls off the tongue

They really need to rename Command Points. How about Tactical Points? Yeah, I need lots of TP for the upcoming battle.
