Where should I go? Anyone in Athens up for lunch, exploring, or a sunset hike today?
I’m travelling solo in Athens and have already checked out most of the major tourist spots — the Acropolis, Plaka, Ermou Street, Anafiotika, the National Garden, and Syntagma Square to see the Parliament.
I’m looking for something fun to do for the rest of the day, and honestly, it would be nice to meet some fellow travellers instead of exploring alone all day!
Anyone else travelling solo and feeling like grabbing lunch together, wandering around the city, or just hanging out for a few hours?
I’m planning to hike up Mount Lycabettus this evening for sunset, so you’re more than welcome to join me for that too!
And if you have any recommendations for interesting things to do solo in Athens, I’m all ears!
Feel free to DM me if you’re interested.

Receiving mail in Athens as a visitor
Hi all, as the title suggests, I’ll be in Athens for work related matters for a week in November. I have a letter in the US that I want to have forwarded to Athens.
What’s the best way for me to receive a letter as a visitor without a Greek mailbox? Can I have it sent to a post office in Athens? Is there anything more secure and reliable? Thanks in advance

Help! Zante Fuel pump station scams?
Did any one experience this? Tried getting my vehicle pumped yesterday and the meter in the vehicle did not move at all, still got charged €15 for it (the price on the machine was moving normally). Tried at another station later in the day for €30 and it filled up half a tank.
tried it again today and the same thing happened at another station.
can someone share how to avoid this?
Getting mud straight up pumped into my vehicle

Help! Lost Glasses in Chora Naxos
I lost a pair of Bailey Nelson glasses on the Protopapadaki. We were parked on the road behind To Spitiko and The Locals and must’ve left the glasses on the roof of the car before driving away. They were in a black and blue Bailey Nelson case and the glasses are wire. We looked everywhere and asked some restaurant owners but nobody has seen them. If they happen to turn up it would be so appreciated to get them back! Thank you.

Suggestions on where to stay in Kefalonia - with tennis courts?
I think we finally decided on a Greek island to explore - does anyone have any insight on where in kefalonia to stay that would be central location to excursions, maybe hiking nearby. We have no desire to stay in the busiest part of town but don’t want to be secluded either. If anyone knows of an unpretentious resort with a tennis court and pool, that would be ideal. Thanks in advance!

Thesaloniki, Katerini, paralia by public transport
I’ll be attending a conference near Paralia (about a 30-minute walk from the center). The organizers originally offered a station pickup, but I opted to fly into Thessaloniki a day early so I can stay in a hostel and explore for a few days before and after the event.
Since I skipped the organized pickup, what is my best option to travel from Thessaloniki down to Paralia, and then back again?
For context, I am a university student on a budget and will be one-bagging the trip. Any advice on public transport, and how to pay and book them would be greatly appreciated.
i do have my drivers lisence but only got it less than a year ago so from what i have found renting a car would be tricky?
Thanks!

Recommendations Southern Corfu OK for stargazing?
Visiting Corfu late July, perfect time for those wonderful Summer Milky Way vistas. I wonder, is there a peaceful corner of the island with great, undisturbed, DARK Southerly views or shall I break the bank to go all the way down to Antipaxos? The light pollution maps I am reading are not so great but finding an accommodation on Antipaxos at down to Earth prices is about impossible.

Current weather in Athens
I have a much anticipated trip to Athens and will be arriving on Sunday! However, I have just read from some sources that there are heavy storms now (although weather forecast websites seem to show it’s sunny?). Can anyone share the current weather conditions in Athens and if it may affect my trip such as flights, transport etc? Thanks!

Questions / Other What is the meteora monastery dress code based off of?
Is it like an ID thing? Like if I have an F I have to wear the female dress code, or is it about the visible parts of my body? My rough looks? I'm asking because I don't want to be disrespectful and wear the wrong thing, and I'm at a loss
