Question Should I get a 17.5 or 17.6?

• Upvotes

So, I live in Washingron state and I want to get a 17 before the new stupid permit to purchase law starts in 2027.

I've been searching for a 17.5 or even a 47 but I can't find any stores that will ship to Washington because of the 10 round magazine limit.

I was able to find a regular non mos 17.5 at a local store for $650. I know the new 17.6 are going for $620.

I am still hesitant about purchasing the new 17.6 with the mushy trigger and new design. I have had a 20.5 and 19.5 both mos and have had no problems with them.

My question is should I just pay more for the older model and probably even more whenever I get it cut for an optic? I know people are saying the trigger on the 17.6 improves with use. I usually just don't like purchasing any product that is a new model until all the problems are discovered and fixed after the initial run.

Thanks for your help.

Question Gen 6 Glock 17 vs Gen Glock 45

• Upvotes

I currently own and compete with a Gen 5 Glock 47. I love it, but want to explore the gen 6s.

I have heard that because of the recoil spring change the recoil impulse is different.

Between the Gen 6 Glock 17 and Gen 6 Glock 45 which feels closest the the Gen 5 G47?

Would love to hear some feedback, especially from any fellow competitors with high round counts on the platform.

Discussion Joined the Glock Clan with a 43X MOS

I just went to the range a few days ago to try and rent a few different compacts and sub compacts. I ended up with a Glock 43x MOS. I compared it to a Springfield Hellcat Pro OSP. I also shot a P365, a regular Hellcat, a Canik Prime MC9, and a SW bodyguard something? The 43x just gets it done. Too many other sub compacts have just enough published issues to keep me away (Canik MC9, FN Reflex, HK CC9, etc). I’m a Springfield guy through and through (my current EDC has been a super reliable Springfield XD-9 Sub-Compact Mod.2, but the Glock just surprised me and it was time to upgrade to something a little thinner, lighter and optics ready.

Same range, same 15’ distance. Same ammo. The 43x put up a 10 shot 2” group while the Hellcat Pro mustered a best 6.5” group for 10 shots.

Picked up the 43x today. Picking up a Holosun 507k 2/32 MRS green dot optic on Saturday. Wanted a EPS MRS, but I’m getting a super good deal on the 507…so for now, it’ll do.

What do yall think?
Holosun MOS
Surefire light
Ameriglo night sights
Zaffiri precisions slide
Bought this slide a few years ago and just recently really started to enjoy it. Super fun at the range, if anyone else has this tell me what you think. Personally I think it’s a beast and eats the recoil.

Question 43x appendix holster

Hey all. I carry currently in a vedder light tuck and while it works, it’s got some hot spots. It sits about the height I’d like but slightly higher would be preferred. Prefer without magazine carrier unless it makes it more comfortable. I’ve also got a 4 bros dad bod holster which is also mostly comfortable.
I have a slight belly but carry appendix all day in comfort. When I say mostly comfortable I do get slight pressure on the edges of the bottom corners of the holster at times.
I’m 6’ 190lb

Since I had them out for lubing, it was the perfect time for a group photo and of course to make a celebratory Glocktober post. Please forgive me if I miss something. We have a couple of 17.5’s, 17.3, 43x, 19.5v, mos & non mos, 19.4, 19x & 19.5 slide, 35.4, 17l, 45.5, 19.6, 17.6, and a 45.6. YOLO (Forgive the crappy image. Perhaps I should invest in a camera)

Image Just Got My Milled Slide Back

Just got my Glock 45 gen5 slide back from Wager. Took exactly three weeks (Two weeks to process). Black nitride coating. Dawson suppressor height blacked out irons (from Wager). Very happy with the work. I've been apprehensive about getting the slide milled, but after reading the feedback on here, I decided to take the plunge. Been running irons, Ameriglo night sights, since 2020. Can't wait to zero it this weekend. I've otherwise kept it stock except for some strips of talon grips, and I polished up the trigger bar and connector with some flitz. This is going to be my winter carry. My second Tenicor is on the way.

Question Osight C screw length 17.6

Does anyone on here have an Osight C optic on a gen 6? Just trying to confirm the use of the 6-32 "longer" screws rather than the 6-32 shorts. Idk why it is so hard to confirm these things still lol I am having the same question for my Echelon. Any help will do, thanks

Hello, just wondering if anyone is running a Holosun 507c with blacked out GL-429 sights on a Gen 6 Glock 19?

I'd love to get a sense of the co-witness height, if possible.

Question GSSF Divisions

Dear GSSF experts and RO, after some pondering I would like to try a GSSF match here in CA.

Now I have a G19.3 (CA) with OEM MOS spare slide and Holosun SCS, extended mag release, Gen 5 GMB, and Radian Magwell.

Everything else is stock.

What is your assessment - which divisions may I compete in?

Thank you for any advice

Question USPSA/GSSF Glock 45/17 question

Hey Everyone,

I am looking at purchasing a new pistol(s) and have been tossing around the idea of getting a glock 45 AND a glock 17. I know they have the same frame, but I'd like to put optics on the 45 and use it as my defense/duty pistol for classes and have the 17 with iron sights. I like the larger frame and don't really want the Glock 19 because of this. Having the 17 and 45 would allow me the ability to run the 17 for both USPSA and GSSF as the stock/non-optic model and have the 45 with the optics and upgrades (if I want) to use in MOS and unlimited and also be able to do the same in USPSA. Are glock 17's/45's a good starter competition set for USPSA? I am not at a point yet where I need to get a "competition steel frame" pistol yet and just want to get involved with some fun events.
