So for context my store is in a small town that doesn't have too many options for food, and even less the way I have to go home. Closing at 8 was fine on weekdays, as was 9 on weekends. But now that we close at 9 or 10pm I can't find food after work. ALL of the restaurants/fast food that I pass on my way home close at 9 or 10pm and I am not about to be one of those people who rolls up right at close to order food. So I am HUNGRY after work with no place to stop for food, especially on Friday and Saturday. And yes I know like meal prepping and bringing my own food, but when I'm eating at maybe 4pm, I'm going to be hungry by 9 or 10. I know there's some food that's open later up town, but I don't want to drive up there, then have to wait 20+ minutes for food (I have waited that long there before).
When it was just Friday and Saturday having this issue it was okay, but now that I am likely to close during the week, it sucks because I'm hungry, my feet hurt, and I just want to go home without having to cook. And let's be honest it would be nearly 10pm by the time I get home, so I won't even want to eat that late .
Now I won't say this is the only reason I dislike the new hours, but it definitely makes it worse. There's no reason for my store to open this early or close this late. Most days no one comes into the store till at least 11 and most people are cleared out by 8 except for a few stragglers. I know holiday hours would be starting soon anyway, but for now these new hours are unreasonable in terms of the foot traffic.
