Android Talk about a close call.My S24 Ultra's charging port died with 1 day of warranty left, ended up getting a full ₹72,000 refund!
Hey everyone, just wanted to share an absolutely wild update to my situation that turned out to be a massive blessing in disguise.
I bought my Galaxy S24 Ultra (Indian variant) last year during the Flipkart Big Billion Days (BBD) sale. It was a great phone, but a few days ago, the charging port started malfunctioning completely out of nowhere. It wouldn't fast charge and eventually stopped recognizing cables altogether. I checked my invoice and realized my standard 1-year warranty was expiring literally tomorrow.
I rushed to the Samsung Authorized Service Centre, sweating bullets. They verified the activation date and confirmed it was indeed the very last day of my warranty.
They accepted the device without any hassle, but here is where it gets crazy:
• The Plot Twist: After diagnosing it, they informed me that they did not have the replacement parts available to fix the port.
• The Drama: Because they couldn't repair it under warranty, they decided to issue a full refund of the invoice amount (₹72,000). However, they initially tried to push me to accept the refund in the form of Samsung Store Coupons.
• The Resolution: I firmly resisted the coupons and insisted on a direct payout. After some back-and-forth, they ultimately agreed and are now issuing me a refund via check for the full ₹72,000!
Since I suddenly found myself without a primary phone, I decided to pull the trigger on a massive upgrade. I just moved on and bought the S26 Ultra International Version from Dubai for ₹87,500
