Concerning comments about relatives trying to get placement

I have a sibling group who’s currently waiting to be placed with grandparents the next state over. I texted grandpa the other day just asking for any additional info on the kids since the cw said they were quite close. He seemed nice enough however later that day I’m driving all 3 kids home with me when I mention that I spoke to Grandpa Tom(fake name). The kids respond right away and this is what was said:

2 yr old girl - “he hit me on the face”
5 yr old girl - “no he didn’t”
6 yr old boy - “no he just hit you on your butt cause you were being bad”
5 yr old - “yeah cause you were being bad”
Then they all continued arguing for a good minute about what actually happened.

I know everyone has their own views on spanking but for a tiny 2 yr old girl to so quickly recall that happening when I just mentioned Grandpa Tom is very concerning. I did ask the kids if it happened a lot and to all of them to which they said yes but only when they were bad.

I told the cw the next morning and she kinda seemed to just brush past it?? I know dhs is usually more lenient with family placements but I’m nervous for these kids. They’ve already been through so much. I want to make sure I’m advocating for them. What other steps should I take? Anyone else have experience with this?

Christmas gifts

We are fostering a little 5yo boy until just shortly after Christmas (as of now). After, he will go back with bio mom most likely but she says she will not want all of the extra stuff coming with him. I think space is the main issue. What do we do about wanting to make his christmas memorable, getting equal presents as our other kids, and also not wanting to give him things he may not get to keep? I tried to put smaller gifts on his list like magnatiles and legos im not even want those coming home with him. Tv is big in their house so not as many toys are needed.

Emergency 2yo+4yo

Been a year and a half since my last itty bitty and she was only 18mo when she came. Two boys, 2yo (32 months) and 4.5yo. I have at least two hours before they'd be here, team is checking if they want a long drive tonight or in the morning, they have a short term local placement available but these kids are already post tpr being removed from adoptive home (😢) so they want them with a potential adoptive placement and I'm open to foster or adopt placements.

I'm setting up a 1hr walmart delivery for toddler beds and beddings (no room for a twin with current set up but anticipate rearranging things to put 4.5yo in twin soon if it seems better), pull ups in a few sizes, toddler potty that goes over the toilet, and toddler toothbrushes/toothpaste. I'll get more things over the next few days.

Any tips for things I should get tonight or do with them or plan on? Sorry for the abrupt post trying to do everything all at once.
