Local News Red Cross Emergency Shelter for the Fire Victims: Peninsula Jewish Community Center - Info Within

Here is a statement from the PJCC website: https://pjcc.org

Our hearts go out to our neighbors who have been affected by the devastating residential fire today. The PJCC has agreed to serve as an emergency shelter for these people for the next three days or so. Effective immediately, both of our main basketball gyms will be shut down and converted into emergency sleeping quarters and staging for the Red Cross to provide support for those who have been displaced. We have also agreed to have Red Cross set up an emergency pet shelter in the back part of our auxiliary parking lot for those residents whose pets were also displaced, the pets will remain outside in this area not in the building.

The rest of the PJCC will remain open to our members. If you or someone you know has been impacted by the fire, please contact the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS or 650-259-1750.

The PJCC is located at 800 Foster City Blvd, Foster City, CA 94404.

Need help with puppies this weekend because of recent surgery

I just got out of the hospital, and I thought I would be okay to manage on my own, but I'm not. I can barely stand up.

I need help getting my puppies safely into my car this weekend and then later safely out of my car. We have been asked to participate in a puppy Event in San Francisco, and I don't want to let the organizers down.

Is there anyone who would be willing to help, please? They are very sweet puppies and weigh about 2 to 3 lb each, four of them.

Thanks!

Fostoberfest was a Bust

Did anyone else attend Fostoberfest this past weekend and wonder what was going on? It didn’t seem like there was any traditional Octoberfest food, beverages, music or anything beyond a normal Foster City event in the park. I was excited for an event to bring this great Bavarian tradition to our city, but I left feeling like the event organizers wasted my family’s time on a weekend. And wasn’t there supposed to be a band on Sat evening, and why did things seem to close so early? This just seems like it was a bust and run by people that don’t even know what a fun Octoberfest event is supposed to be like.

Hi Foster City,

One year ago we opened Ohm Dental with a fresh sign, a lot of nerves, and a strong hope that someone would show up. You did. 🎉

Thank you for the kind reviews, which we read more often than we'd like to admit and which have kept our team smiling. It's been a privilege to take care of this community, and we're excited to keep doing it.

If you're new here, or you've been dodging a cleaning since 2024, come say hi. We'd love to meet you.

Dr. Omid, Ohm Dental

Someone’s boat got stuck on the pedway today (10102026 - 1PM)… north of the bridge. It’s stuck on the rocks due to really high tide.

Recreation classes

Hi! Was thinking of signing up my baby for local recreation classes in the fall. She’s 16 months old and I’m wanting her to socialize a bit more. Any recommendations?

Did anyone else hear that???

And then it just abruptly stopped! It was like a loud ringing, my wife heard it first then pointed it out to me, then it got louder until it cut off. She says it’s been doing that for weeks but tonight is my first time hearing it!
Did anyone else hear that or am I just going crazy? Lol

Does anyone know why this is locked now?

It was so nice to walk south along the water from behind the youth center and boat launch by Foster City Lagoon. (You can still access the area from the walkway beside the overpass south of the apartments but can’t walk through because of the padlocked gate.) Such a shame!

Private Bed + Private Bath in 2BD/2.5BA Waterfront Townhouse — Foster City

Helping a friend find someone to take over a room in a waterfront townhouse in Foster City.

Rent: $2,367/month + utilities
Available: Now
Room: Private bedroom + private bathroom
Location: Schooner Bay Apartments, 300 Timberhead Lane, Foster City

Furnished option: The room can come furnished if needed. My friend is also open to selling the mattress, large workstation/desk setup, lights, and other room furniture to the incoming roommate.

Location highlights
• Close to Zoox, Visa, EA, Oracle, and other Foster City/San Mateo offices
• Bikeable to Belmont Caltrain
• Right by the Bay Trail for running, biking, and waterfront walks
• Quiet waterfront community with beautiful views

Home + amenities
• In-unit washer/dryer
• Large living room + full kitchen
• Balcony overlooking the water
• Gym + pool
• Tennis + basketball courts
• Lots of parks, trails, and outdoor space nearby

Roommate: You’ll be living with a 23-year-old software engineer at EA who works hybrid. She’s friendly, relatively tidy, and enjoys gaming, board games, reading, and dance. She also has two very friendly cats.

It’s a great option for someone who wants waterfront trails and outdoor space while staying close to the major Foster City/San Mateo offices.

DM me if interested or if you know someone who may be looking.
