What is your favorite music video from ‘Tango in the Night’?
In order are “Big Love”, “Seven Wonders”, “Little Lies”, and “Everywhere”.
Technically, “Family Man” also got a music video, but it’s just the “Seven Wonders” video mixed in with old footage.

The dance 1997
I’ve been trying to make a full set list album of the dance for a while now, I’ve found all songs apart from not that funny, eyes of the world and second hand news, oh daddy and stand back (unsure if that was actually played) does anyone have a link? To those songs?
Thanks!

Kirwan-Welch Era Outtakes & Lost Songs
Hey all, so I've been wanting to get a comprehensive list of lost tracks, demos, outtakes, etc. from the Kirwan-Welch lineup in 1971-1972. Only looking for separate songs, not demos of already released tracks. There's only a handful of these and some where only the live versions are available, it's unknown if there's even studio recordings of them. Just looking for some help on this, if anyone has any additional recordings or tracks available to add to this list please let me know. Thanks!
Stone - from the Future Games outtakes, later added onto the expanded CD edition of the album in the 1969-1974 collection from 2020
Baby It's Alright Now - Doesn't count since its a Spencer-Kirwan lineup track, but thought I'd just throw it on here for now
Bad Man Blues (Live) - Recording from the Whiskey a Go Go on Nov 22nd 1971. Haven't been able to find a studio version
Ride 'Em Cowboy (Live) - Recording from Nov 21st 1971. Also haven't found a studio version.
Trinity - Bare Trees outtakes, same as Stone, was finally added in the 2020 collection

“A gift from the angels”: The story of how Christine McVie transformed Fleetwood Mac

Why doesn't Christine McVie get the same recognition as a keyboardist as Elton John or Billy Joel?

I just discovered Stevie Nicks' solo stuff, why is it not more known?
I just came across the solo work of Stevie Nicks, and I can't stop wondering why it isn't more famous? Yes I know she got inducted as a solo act in the Rock n Roll hall of fame. But nobody thinks of Stevie Nicks solo, valid, but I think you should at least know her solo stuff, it is great and succesful too.

When my mom met Fleetwood Mac
New here, just now digging into FM's music, and wanted to share a funny anecdote for those who might be interested :D
My mom was a makeup artist in the 70s, and in 1975 (I think), Stevie hired my mom to do her makeup for a show in our city. My mom had no idea who Fleetwood Mac was, though it was right during the moment they were starting to take off.
So, my mom did Stevie's makeup, apparently Stevie was a total sweetheart, and she gave my mom backstage passes for the whole night and my mom was able to enjoy the show from just off stage. After the show, the band invited her to party with them, and also gave her the address of their summer home in Florida - she declined partying with them because she was afraid they were going to do drugs (she wasn't wrong, was she! 😅️), and she tossed the address in the trash because she didn't see any reason she'd go to Florida to hang out with these people she'd just met for a job 🫣️
Next Monday she went to work and told her colleagues about her weekend... her colleagues lost their absolute shit, considering Fleetwood Mac was becoming huge, and my mom had had absolutely zero idea who they were 💀️
But my mom always held Stevie in the highest regard, always speaking so fondly of her and saying what a sweet, gentle soul she was, even as she was becoming an international celebrity.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: my god, this is a hostile sub... I'm brand new, just started listening to this band yesterday, and I made two posts... this one got half the comments implying or even telling me the story my mom told me is a lie (or feeling like they're accusing ME of lying... and honestly, who in the world makes up such a strange story for the sake of like 50 upvotes??? Christ...), and my other one where I just asked about the band since I don't know much of anything about them got so majorly downvoted and almost all the comments were so aggressive (simply because I don't know anything about this band?) that I ended up just deleting it...
Honestly, these people here putting into my head that a beloved story from my dead mother was a lie has been most painful... I only wanted to share a cute story with FM fans because I thought you might enjoy it... but the result was actually kind of painful...
What a nasty "welcome" to a fan base... y'all sure know how to keep new fans away! 🥲️

The Alternate Tusk vinyl
Does anyone have the alternate Tusk on vinyl who can confirm if the tracks are edited down from the digital/streaming version? I’m finding conflicting info online. I’d hate if it didn’t have the the full 8:45 version of Sara for instance.

Are there 80s music similar to Tango?
I am just curious if there's 80s music that would scratch the itch similar to what Tango does. It has two parts I really like. The drums, guitars all over 80s pop music. I feel like the drums in Caroline remind me of a lot of songs, I instantly think of like Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears. If you know of any other songs like that. Isn't it Midnight feels very much like an Annie Lennox song thats kind of hair metal. The other half of the albums songs are spacey, dreamy, fairytale, synthy but with bongos and other live instrumentation. Seven Wonders, Everywhere, Welcome to the room Sara, If I see you again.
I really forgot how amazing I find Tango. I prefer the first 4 albums of theirs to this one, buts its really a one of a kind of its time record that ended up a timeless classic. I really like how dreamy the songs are, even though this band style is known for dreamy pop and pop-rock through all their albums with BN. I know so many young people who love Fleetwood Mac including this record and especially Everywhere. But we all know why everyone knows that song in particular.

7 Stevie songs and 2 Lindsey and 1 pre Buckingham0knicks hit
7 Stevie songs and 2 Lindsey and 1 pre Buckingham-nicks hit. Did you guys do this? Do you agree? Its a huge crime Christine isn't here or a few more Lindseys songs. I just don't feel like Stevie is head and shoulders above everyone else, but she is in terms of popularity.
And I do adore her solo career the most. She is probably still my idol from the group, my second favorite band and all but I still don't like her songs more than anyone elses songs. She really did good for herself despite not being the most "technical" members of the group, which became a trend in music where you collaborated with outside musicians more and experimented where before bands had an established "sound" fans expected from them. I always loved how they proved despite moving to a more pop sound through the 80s no one called them sellouts cause they stayed true to their roots while adding modern flares to their music rather than completey changing the formula, or like most bands did in those days, found the popular groove and stick with it. They are not a boring band.

Live in Indianapolis, 1980.
Does anyone have the bootleg of the May 16, 1980 concert at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis? I'm particularly interested in hearing what Stevie had to say at the end of the performance. Apparently she talked to the audience about quitting the band.

Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks ARE legendary on every continent and Stevie Nicks' solo career IS big on every continent (nothing important just for fun).
So Stevie Nicks is the face of the band, not 'cuz she was the sole lead singer, I believe Christine McVie sung more lead vocals on the songs/big hits, but because of her shared relationship drama, and her mystical witch persona.
In the physical era, songs were taken out of stores to make way for the much more expensive album, making the sales not match the fame, 'cuz labels cared about money not looks, but for big albums (15-30+ million physical copies sold I'd say) you needed songs that, needed to have sold millions maybe tens of millions of physical copies before getting taken out of stores, meaning the songs are underreported, unless the songs were taken out of stores almost immediately, but then in turn the album sales would go up and be underreported.
and Fleetwood Mac, the sales to the vast majority of their songs and albums haven't been updated much in decades, if fully updated and digital/streaming didn't take off, even higher. Fleetwood Mac had an above average amount of big hits, but you can find many artists, including moderately famous ones with more big hits than them, their albums I'd say weren't quite big but... Also the songs (combined) are gonna be bigger than the album since they MADE the album.
Also tours, so Ariana Grande sold out a 75K stadium, sounds impressive right? Until you learn it was a festival so people didn't buy tickets just for her, and it was in Houston, one of the cheapest and most populated cities of the second most populated state of the third most populated country, not impressive like, at all. Fleetwood Mac, though generally chose arenas/ampitheaters, for 4 decades from the mid 70s to mid 2010's had very high demand to sell out stadiums in highly expensive low populated areas without festivals for a much higher price if they wanted to, and even after was still fairly high.
Stevie Nicks well, her solo career, it had some big hits but not that many, and they were the same size as the ones with Fleetwood Mac, but well, not nearly as high as Fleetwood Mac, though she generally chose arenas and ampitheaters and such, she had fairly high demand to sell out stadiums in highly expensive low populated areas without festivals for a high price which has never dwindled, and thus I'd say that her solo career is very famous and bigger than Rih and Bey. She is the face of the band and has the vast majority of the fame of the band then her solo career is very famous on top of it and bigger than Rih and Bey, she is bigger than the band.
Fleetwood Mac had artists like The Corrs, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, Florence+TheMachine, etc. cover them in venues ranging from arenas to stadiums in countries like Argentina, Phillippines, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, India, Hungaray, Spain, Norway, Peru, Brazil, UAE, Chile, Norway, Taiwan, Indonesia, Colombia, etc. with audiences singing a long LOUD, according to people I asked they are big in Belgium, Brazil, Estonia, Argentina, Phillippines, Malasyia, Seyschelles, Zimbabwe, Tananza, Moz, Italy, India, Zambia, Portugal, etc. They have had platinum or gold certifications, tours, or both in Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Austria, etc. and them/their music has been in plenty of shows or movies big on every continent and they had viewership contributions to shows or movies big on every continent.
Stevie Nicks' solo career, well, it's big in South Africa and Japan, and the artists performing in venues in countries with audiences singing a long LOUD, plus according to people i asked her solo career is big in most of them, and according to a friend in the UK her solo career is big in the UK, and well her solo career/music has been in multiple shows or movies big on every continent and her solo career has had viewership contributions to shows or movies on every continent applies to her solo career too.
you could take out multiple chunks of Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks' fame, and they'd still be in the same league as Mariah, Elvis Presley, Alanis Morisstte (outside the US especially), Eminem, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, the Jackson 5, ABBA (outside the US) Ellie Goulding (outside the US and Canada) ABBA's faces, The Beatles, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Prince, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift (now), John Lennon, Coldplay (now), Linkin Park (cringe though, plus its two faces), Chris Martin (now) and all the other legends.

Hot Take: Danny Kirwan sang lead on Black Magic Woman better than Peter
Linked the video of the performance, Live at the Paramount March 1972. Something about the way he sings it is so melancholic. Also his guitar work on this is fantastic, I wish they played it live more.
And this isn’t to say Peter’s version is bad, thats iconic and fantastic as well.
