Bass chasing the moving baits (Lake Washington)
Caught 2 quality smallies today while catching 6 dink largies all on moving baits but mostly a jointed rapala. The rest was on a small swimbait with a round jig head. Nice to know that they’re chasing if you can find ‘em. Finish the year strong, everyone!

2027 Salmon time off itinerary
Hey everyone, thinking about being more strategic with my fishing time next year and thought it would be nice to start looking at locations and camp sites for some longer weekends to fish beaches.
What do you think and what would you do?
June: Not sure yet
July 1: Deception Pass
July 2: Fort Casey / Bush Point
July 3: Backpacking and fishing the coast of the Olympics
August 1: Point no Point
August 2: Somewhere around the San Juans / Port Townsend
Two places I’d really like to try but not sure when yet is the Columbia River, Stehekin/Lake Chelan
I’ll spend time fishing areas off I-5 in between these trips. Probably some docks etc.

Steelhead encounter
I have been learning a lot about salmon and steelhead fishing. Going to deep water like the Columbia, and shallow fast tributary water. Yesterday we were on a trib in a raft and hadn’t seen a fish all day. I was floating a bobber and 16 mm bead in a shallow fast moving stretch. Like 1 foot deep. My buddy was rowing I was sitting fishing. I went to take the bead out the water (I was letting it drift with the boat) all of a sudden, a massive steelhead aggressively appeared right next to me out of nowhere from upstream. I could have reached out and touched him. He looked at me and I looked at him for a second, and he was gone.
The more you fish the more you learn. That was a moment I’ll never forget. No fish that day but that moment made the trip.

Totem inlet fishing late October?
Wondering if I could catch any salmon in the salt late October in the totem inlet area? I generally jig for salmon in area 9 from my kayak, but am staying at a cabin in Arcadia over a weekend. Wondering if I should be targeting rivers or totem inlet during this time of year

No matter what I do, I can’t catch a fish
This whole year I’ve been fishing for carp, trout bass, and catfish and have been getting completely skunked. I’m at my local lake at least four days a week for multiple hours at a time in the morning and at night just trying to catch something. I’m using power eggs and worms for trout, corn for carp a Texas rig, spinner, baits, crank, baits and tapwater, frogs, etc. Maybe it’s because I’ve just been fishing the same lake over and over but I want to know how to break the skunk

Open charter recommendations
My brother is visiting for a few days and we'd like to go fishing. We don't have much equipment or any experience fishing here. In Vancouver and looking for something in the forge or along the coast here or OR. In CA we would show up at the landing before dawn and buy spots on sight and fish with a bunch of strangers, that's what I'm hoping for.

What am I doing wrong? Seattle shore fishing for coho
I've been throwing 2.5" - 3" chartreuse buzzbombs with hoochie skirts from piers and shore from West Seattle to Pier 70 and all the way up to Golden Gardens in the 2 hour window before and after high tide several times a week for the last 4 weeks and have hooked into exactly 0 coho in that time. I've seen the fish swim by and cast to them: nothing. I've blind cast for hours: nothing.
I'm starting to go insane on top of wearing my arms out doing the cast, sink, reel, lift routine. What am I doing wrong?

Casting technique and setup for spoons and spinners
Seeking advice on how to get better distance casting spoons and spinners. I get good distance when casting buzz bombs and heavier lures, but not with the lighter tackle. I watch others get much better distance and I don’t see any added weight. What am I doing wrong?

Columbia River Shore Expedition
Thanks to all the guys giving me a bit of advice of where and what to throw. I had a 1.5 hour window to fish at Bingen Point from shore. I caught 8 bass in that time with a 3.25 inch strike king rage swimmer on a round jig head just dragged across the bottom and along the riprap. Mostly dinks but had a chunky 13 incher. I will one day return with my kayak.(life vest provided a little extra warmth)

Lake Washington Coho?
I tried trolling for coho last month in Lake Washington and got no bites. The other boats seem to also get no fish.
Is anyone having luck out there?

Newbie help catching flounder from the shore
I just started fishing with my kid and the first time we went out we went to Point no Point with a friend a couple months ago and caught a lot of flounder basically one after the other. It was a lot of fun for my kid since it was really easy and fast to catch them.
I've been back to the same location 3 times since then and haven't even gotten a bite. I also tried the Mukilteo beach area and Picnic Park and still no bites. Did I just get really lucky that first time? Is there a better place to try?
I'm using a pretty typical setup from what I can tell. A 1oz sinker with a leader and hook using squid.
Any tips and help would be appreciated!

Seeking suggestions on where to fish
Hi there.
I am posting to see if anyone has advice on spots near West Seattle to fish.
I’m pretty down with stocked lakes. Chair, cooler, a book.
Pretty simple.
Thx in advanced

How to fish Lake Washington?
Was thinking about trying out gene coulon for fishing, but the sheer size of the body of water is intimidating. What are some common methods/ techniques?

Why do we have to submit harvest reports and catch record cards when using the app?
Makes no sense. If we have already logged something in the wdfw app then why would we have to log it again by “submitting” a report. Normally I am grateful for wdfw, but this just makes no sense to me and seems like a revenue generating tool for folks who will inevitably forget to “submit” something that’s effectively already been submitted.
If you are using paper I get it but with the app? Really?
Edit: sounds like these reports are submitted automatically (like they should) but then why is there a button in the app you click to “submit report”, hence my confusion. Makes me wonder if folks will get a fee if they don’t manually submit… Hope not.
