CMHT Failure

First off I’m sorry if this topic sounds like a broken record, we all know how poor nhs services are, especially mental health services. But I’m at my whit’s end trying to get treatment and I don’t know what to do anymore.

So I was previously under CMHT care in Tayside but moved over to Fife and had my GP put a referral through as a transfer of care. After 2 months of waiting to hear from Fife CMHT I called them for them to only tell me they had no idea who I was because they hadn’t bothered to reach out to Tayside and do the transfer. Apparently they received the referral and note from my GP saying I was under Taysides care previously but cba to do anything about it.

Anywho, my mental health then started to deteriorate sharply. I’m treatment resistant, meaning I’ve tried every medication GPs can prescribe me so I’ve exhausted all of their options. I have a long history of SH and S attempts so when these thoughts started popping up again my GP put sn urgent referral through.

Fast forward, months down the line now, my GP has put through 5 urgent referrals, NHS24 have put urgent notes on my medical record, Ninewells put notes on after an attempt and now UCAT have sent through an urgent referral noting my attempts, ideation and possible neurodivergence. But after each referral, the CMHT downgrades it to routine.

I’ve called CMHT to figure out why I’m getting downgraded despite having S attempts and a clear need for a medical review and they’ve told me they believe I need psychology. I’ve called psychology and they’ve told me I’ve got over a years wait and no urgent referral will speed that up.

I really feel like this is clinical negligence. I’m trying not to be self-centred and I know there are hundreds if not thousands of others in similar situations. Surely this isn’t on.. im essentially untreated, with no access to care and Fife CMHT couldn’t give a fuck. It just makes you think, if a S attempt doesn’t mean anything to them, what does?

Sorry for this rant, I know there are others like me, but from a selfish point of view this seems so negligent and uncaring. I just don’t know what to do anymore, everyone refers me back to my GP, who are lovely, but unfortunately can’t do anything..

Pay point cash out vouchers

I've got a Scottish welfare fund cash out voucher for some basics but shops with pay points keep telling me no one does those vouchers anymore? I'm in Glenrothes but have fuel to get to KDY. Anyone know of any place that does them?

Dunfermline Amazon FC

I’ve seen a warehouse role at the Dunfermline site, but it’s full time. How flexible are they if you want to do part time instantly. Can I apply for the full time and let them know I want to do part time?

Hello all, I work on a paper machine here in Canada. My wife’s family is from Scotland so we always toy with the idea of moving to Scotland and me getting a job at the sapphire mill.

Anyone on here work at that mill? Would love to pick your brain a bit. Thanks!!

We drone filmed Hallyard / Camilla Castle in Fife before it's erased for a 600MW AI data centre - 1000 years of history, refused listed status.

Located NW of Auchtertool, Hallyards (Hall yairds - "the yards at the hall") is reputed to have been Malcolm Canmore's hunting seat, then residence of the Bishops of Dunkeld until 1539.

John Knox wrote about fighting there between French troops and the Lords of the Congregation. In Feb 1560 it was reported "clean overthrown". James Hamilton, 3rd Earl of Arran escaped via bedsheets to get there before meeting Mary Queen of Scots at Falkland Palace.

Now Planning Ref 26/01243/PPP for the £5bn Cato data centre proposes to build directly over it. HES refused listed status per The National on 2nd Oct.

We walked and flew it last week so there's at least a record. Photo from the flight attached, full video here - https://youtu.be/ml6TwgC2fb8

Mental health team west is failing me

Hi I am so so nervous to post this, I’ve been under cmht west for years, a long long time and I’ve had more bad experiences than good, like it’s honestly been awful at times. I’ve been on upwards of 25 different medications, had therapy, been hospitalised a few times (but not for years), although bad experiences I have never felt the level of neglect I am having right now, I have been dealing with so much this year with my mental health, in and out of low lows and high highs and not much rest in between, at my last appointment in spring my psych decided I was to come off most my meds gradually, apparently would see me in 3-4 months, in August my gp was so worried about me he asked them to see me urgently, cmht / psych decided it wasn’t needed despite not speaking to me more than one phone call (at the time) - which was with a nurse who told me I needed to do a distress tolerance book I’ve done online about 3 times already, that I didn’t need to be seen and have instead booked me in for NOVEMBER. I’m at the point I have had to do my OWN medication tweaking to settle things, I was on an agitated high and self concluded I needed to cut down antidepressants, I am at a loss because now I am feeling agitated low, but they won’t see me so I don’t know what to do, I’ve phoned up multiple times and they tell me to do relaxation etc, I don’t think they get it that sometimes we are past that. I’ve also worked in third sector mental health I know the proven stuff that works, to an extent, I’m past that and I am holding on by a thread. I don’t know what to do honestly, does anyone have any advice? And is anyone else in this boat, I honestly feel alone and like they just do not care. I have NO support and phoning the duty line makes me worse at this point. Pls don’t recommend local charities etc due to professional background.

Socialising around Fife

Hi! I(32M) moved to Thornton a few months ago and would love to meet some new people around Fife and maybe even make friends.

It would be great to find out about events, communities, groups, clubs, etc. around the local area and Fife in general as well. Any suggestions?

St Andrew's on a Saturday

I visited from Perth on Saturday and hadn't been to the main town in ages. Had a lovely walk on the beach with the dog and lunch at Balgove Larder.

When we went into the actual town, it was mad to see how busy it was - great in a way but traffic was mental! I can't believe the amount of cars everywhere and in the car ourselves driving at snails pace and impossible to get a parking space. My mother was driving and she's disabled so couldn't park and walk in.

Seems a shame that it continues to be so car centric, when there's really no space for all the traffic that was there. It felt noisy, smelly and overwhelming with the amount of cars and I wondered if there were plans to have any low traffic streets or introduce measures to make it more accessible with public transport like trams etc.

It would be so much more pleasant and safer if a big bit part of it was pedestrianised or had public transport only.

There was also no internet connection in the centre of town for any of us visiting, probably due to the amount of people? Was nuts though! I couldn't move money in my bank account to pay in shops that didn't accept cash.

Hi everyone!

I (27M) moved to Cupar area from Yorkshire a few months ago for a grad role and was wondering what people would recommend as good ways to meet people who are a bit more introverted like myself?

Thanks!

Where to buy Finnan haddie/Finnie haddock in Fife?

Hi all. I'm looking to find someone that sells the above (cold smoked haddock for use in Cullen Skink) in Fife please?

I tried Balgrove Larder today but they didn't know if the haddock they had was cold or hot smoked!

I know some of the East Neuk fish vans travel around, but I'm not on Facebook so can't see any details!

Thanks so much. I'm close to Cupar but happy to travel.
